After the TXV replacement I reported the same symptoms again. Techs came out, found nothing, cleared the system. I was also enrolled in and paying their monthly maintenance program during this entire period. On the third visit they finally diagnosed a failed compressor -- and their own technician's written report states the TXV failure damaged the compressor. The warranty is valid through July 16. Despite this, both the manager and owner denied warranty coverage and are comfortable with me filing complaints -- so that's exactly what I'm doing with Washington State L&I, the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, the BBB, and Trane corporate directly. If you're a homeowner considering their maintenance program, ask specifically what they document and check on every visit. I paid monthly fees expecting my system to be monitored -- a developing compressor failure went undetected across multiple visits.

He first located each of the many vents throughout our home while explaining the cleaning process and what he would be doing. Each time Zach went out to his truck for supplies and returned, he put protective booties over his shoes. We do not wear shoes in our home, so I especially appreciated his thoughtfulness and respect for our property. Throughout the job, Zach was thorough, focused, and clearly took pride in doing the work properly. When he finished, he made certain that doors were closed and lights were turned off, small details that say a lot about someone's professionalism. The real surprise came when he showed me the contents of the vacuum bag. I couldn't believe the amount of dirt, hair, leaves, and assorted debris that had accumulated in the ducts, including remnants apparently left behind from remodeling done many years ago. Seeing what was actually removed certainly confirmed the value of having the ducts professionally cleaned. Zach is a keeper! Signed up for a yearly service maintenance agreement with them that same day. Every year like clock work, they came out for the yearly turn up. No upselling. Just routine maintenance. I don't exactly recall when they were bought out/merged/bought Gene Johnson and some plumbing company, but it was the end of the no upselling. Fast forward to today: The good. Lots of good to really good people in all roles. An army of techs. They will come to you fairly quickly. Actual service is usually solid. The bad. Some not so good techs that are clearly on the upsell of telling me I needed something. The code changed and new requirements of.... when I'm likely grandfathered in at the old requirements. They want to come out twice a year, to service my heatpump and furnace separately. Basically two opportunities for upsell. They want to send me a free plumbing consultation/inspection. More upsell. Never scheduled with them. The really big prize for them, selling me a completely new heat pump and furnace system, when both approached 10 years old. Having to say no every freaking year. Fear tactics. Super premium prices. Really bad. One of their techs told me my extra surge protector installed by another tech is over a year old and may fail. He highly advises a new one to protect my system. I approve it and pay again. Later I pull the records from the first one installed. It's only 11 months old and under warrant. Call manager and get a refund. Different tech was fixing my heatpump. Had to order parts and came back the next day. He had underquoted the actual cost to fix the prior day. I had already signed and approved the fix the day prior. Day 2, that morning with my heat pump torn apart in pieces, I'm forced to sign/approve the real cost or he cannot finish the repair and would leave. I sign, not happy call into the a manager. He researches. About 2 weeks later they agree to refund the difference. About 2 months later I actually recieve the refund. My hvac system lasted 16 years. Not too bad. They gave me four bids with various levels of equipment. I ended hiring a smaller hvac company near 5 stars reviews here on yelp. Their sole bid was the Bel-Red's low bid with better equipment. I stopped the Bel-Red service agreement going forward. Should have done this many, many years ago. Paying super premium prices for less than stellar services. Live and learn.

Once I selected All Points, Christopher scheduled my installation of a Kuma wood-burning fireplace insert about a month later. The installation included a chimney cap and stainless steel chimney liner. Overall, the installation was done smoothly. I had one small issue with the fan not turning on, and Christopher sent his men out within a week to fix the issue. The Kuma product is an American-made hybrid wood burning stove with a catalytic converter. It is manufactured in Idaho by a family-run company, and I really like the product. I've enjoyed burning wood in the stove multiple times since purchasing it, and I'm confident that I'll be using the stove every Fall/Winter/Spring for many years to come. But since then we have had a difficult time getting service. The technicians are great when they do come, but the office is terrible at scheduling time. We often get no response to emails about needing service and rarely get called back when we leave a message. We have finally moved on - which has been a hassle as other technicians scratch their heads about C&Cs installation. Our friend, a contractor who recommended them, has also dropped them from his list for the same reason. Don't waste your time with them.

The fix has held since then and we're glad for it. The following winter our thermostat broke so that the A/C and heat were both on full blast, leading to our house being quite cold (and ice building up on one of the pipes coming into the furnace). This of course happened over the holidays so we couldn't be immediately scheduled, but C & C Olympic came out at their earliest opportunity, identified the problem and replaced our thermostat bringing our house back to a cozy warm state. We are HIGHLY satisfied with all aspects of the experience, including the functioning of the installed equipment. All of the many PEARCE team members I had contact with were a pleasure to work with. Communications with PEARCE were prompt, succinct, and complete; expectations were clear. Pricing was reasonable. A detailed description of our experience follows: PEARCE was introduced along with 2 other vendors by Puget Sound Energy (PSE) as a candidate for installing an EV Charger (which we had procured separately) and associated electrical wiring and breakers. The PEARCE representative, Isaac, made a much better impression than the other vendors. He appeared in person (rather than over the phone like another vendor) to examine the site and he answered all my questions; thanks to the information he provided we moved the installation point to a better location. PSE also introduced 3 vendors for installation of a Heat Pump, a system that would be new to our 1970s-era split-level house. Two of these vendors proposed (based on our home's square footage) a 3-ton capacity Hybrid Heat Pump, with one stating that additional ducting would be needed; the third vendor was adamant that we would need a ductless heat pump because a Hybrid Heat Pump system would not function with our home's ducting. The variance in Heat Pump proposals left me confused. Therefore, due to Isaac's positive impression, I asked PEARCE to make a Heat Pump proposal. Brian visited the following day and was able to alleviate my concerns with his technical knowledge and his rich experience with Heat Pumps. He said that though he would be happy to install a 3-ton capacity system, he believed a 2.5-ton capacity Hybrid Heat Pump system would be a better fit given factors beyond our home's square footage, such as the size of our ducting and our house layout. The PEARCE team arranged to have both the EV Charger and Hybrid Heat Pump installed at the same time. Isaac installed both the EV Charger and the electrical wiring for the Heat Pump, including placing easy-to-read printed labels on the installed breakers. A multi-person team led by Jake installed the Hybrid Heat Pump system over two days. I was very pleased by the routing of the lines between the external Heat Pump and interior Air Handler (located in our laundry room): no conduit needed to be run on the exterior of our home and no interior walls needed to be cut open and repaired. A nice touch by Jake's team was the fabrication of a metal pocket next to the Air Handler for storing the equipment manuals. The installation teams were respectful of our property, including wearing booties or laying cloth rugs to protect our floors. Alison of the office team was a pleasure to deal with in setting up dates, dealing with a minor issue, and invoicing. We have been able to experience the functioning of the installed Hybrid Heat Pump system on both cool and warm days and are very satisfied; the 2.5-ton capacity system that Brian recommended meets our expectations for both heating and cooling. Regarding heating: compared to the gas furnace it replaced, the new system keeps our home at a more even temperature both throughout the zones of our house and across the hours of the day. Regarding cooling: previously we had no cooling system; the heat pump exceeds our expectations in cooling our entire home effectively with relatively even temperatures across zones.
