My cousin and I stopped in about 30 minutes before closing just looking for a quick bite and a michelada. First off, the michelada was flavorful and hit the spot. I'd absolutely come back for another one. We also ordered shredded beef tacos, and they came out fresh, hot, and tasty. The chips and salsa were a nice bonus while we waited. What I appreciated most was the service. Even though we arrived close to closing time, the waitress kindly let us know they would be closing soon, but we never felt rushed. One of the few authentic spots around! I can by for the first time with my family and it was great. The people in the restaurant are very kind and the food was made fresh. The spot is very unique, but I can imagine with more service this place will grow into something really cool. The food tastes home made. We went last Friday evening. Our waitress was great. My friend ordered a margarita. It had some purple sugar or something in the rim. It tasted kinda like a grape kool-Aid. I ordered a pina colada. She said the rim would be a leches with coconut. I'm like can I have half & half. She goes of course. But the coconut & lechera is really good. She brought it. It was amazing. I came here thinking authentic Mexican and was surprised when I got my huevos rancheros with just a bunch of tomato and onion on top (oh, there were a few jalapeño slices also). Completely missed in my opinion. Where was the ranchera sauce? On a positive note, the beans were delicious. Rice was ok but a little bland. My husband had the huevos a la mexicana and he enjoyed that. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming. One suggestion for the owner. OMG!!!! I know we want to keep gems a secret but I can't this little spot is serious goodness and authentic. We had the costa azul shrimp and tostada de Camarón and pescado!!!! She replied by telling me that other customers haven't complained about flavor. Well, it all started in the morning when we always craving pozole. It was July 4th so the place in Fontana that I normally buy was closed so I tried this place.
