Waitress was great. The food that came was ok. Loud Indian music the whole time. Could not have a conversation it was so loud and obnoxious. When I went to pay I told them that I didn't want to pay for the food I ordered but did not come and the manager was rude. He said I would not be getting any free food. So every now and then you go to a place and just want to go back and try something different each night you are in town. This is that place. If ever you are in Rolla have to come here. I ordered the gyro with fries and cheese balls. The cheese balls were great. Not thick cheese, but more like cream cheese. The fries may have been the best ever. Great stop after a very long day of driving for a large pizza special with Greek sausage, onions and peppers which came with toasted raviolis as an appetizer. The raviolis were great and put a big dent into our hunger but we still were able to consume about half of the delicious pizza. Add a couple of beers and we were good to go. This place is seriously a gem in pretty much the middle of nowhere. When visiting my boyfriend at Fort Leonard Wood, I was craving good pizza & based on all the reviews, this place seemed worth the 30 minute drive. It definitely met those expectations. We arrived around 6pm on a Sunday & were told we could sit at any table we'd like. It looks there are 3 rooms with tables: the one you walk into when entering & then one on each side. The center room seemed a little noisy with kids so we choose a table in the room on the right where the bar is. The aesthetic is simple but exposed brick gives it some character. Our friendly waitress greeted us and took our drink orders. We decided to stick with soda but the wine list looked decent, although it included a lot of Greek wines (its a Greek pizza place) & wines from Missouri, both of which are unconventional and may not appeal to all wine drinkers. For an appetizer we ordered jalapeno poppers, which were awesome. For pizza I ordered a small Mediterranean pizza, which has feta cheese, banana peppers, spinach, & olives. The small size is the perfect personal pizza size. The flavors were delicious & they definitely did not skimp on the toppings. My boyfriend ordered half chicken florentine & half BBQ chicken on his pizza (you can get half and half on any pizza) & he was very happy with it. Great pizza. Fast Friendly service and atmosphere you expect from a great pizza place. If you want pizza sauce be sure to order it that way. Some "gourmet" pizzas don't have red sauce. I like margarita pizza but at Alex it does not have red sauce. No big deal because the menu has many choices and you can make your own pizza margarita with the topping choices. I don't get round pizzas that are cut into squares. It's a pie, c'mon man! Alex makes up for that faux pas with great tasting pizza. read more

Alex's is one of those college town hangouts - a place where students and townies can come together over a great pizza. The pizza here is greek style - thin crust with a light sauce, cut into squares. It's easily the best pizza in Rolla - I always stop in here when I make it back to town. Additionally, they have other specialties - greek salads, gyros, baklava, along with hamburgers and other grilled food. Alex's can get quite busy on a Friday/Saturday night...but if you call ahead, you're order will be ready when you get there! read more

Normally Alex's is a 5 star but I have to say I was pretty ticked off yesterday eating here. Yes, I understand they are extremely busy being St. Patty's and all. We had 3 kids and 5 adults with us and were told it was going to be a 45 minute wait. No big deal. I understand it's St. Pattys and the parade was going on. The host put our name on the list and we had 6 names before ours. Literally, at least 50 people came in and walked past us and didn't ever come out. I asked him if there was a door or something out back and he said that there wasn't. An hour and a half later we are finally seated. We get sat down after all the stress and they come over and said," oh sorry can you move, we have a table that wants to sit near another table." Are you freaking kidding me? At this point I feel like Ashton Kutcher is gonna pop out of the back and tell me I'm being punked. Nope! So we move all the kids and go across to another table that's surrounded by drunk college kids. Awesome. We ordered some cheese balls which are by the way a must have!! The manager did send over a second order of them since we so kindly moved. We had the house special pizza which I believe had mushrooms, peppers, beef and a meat lovers pizza. My favorite pizza here is the gyro one. It's legitimate Greek food and delicious. Usually it's a good place to come to. This place is near and dear to my heart because my parents first date was here. I'll come back because I do love you Alex's but you need to work on your preparation for St. Pattys. It's the same time every year so it should not be this big of an issue. read more

Okay saw all of the comments and some were a little bitter, I have for to say after driving a half our to get there I was happy, I was greeted by a friendly staff, our waiter was very nice and the food was good. We've all had pizza that we think is the absolute best so I'm not gonna hold that against this place because that is apples to oranges. I had the Gyro Greek Pizza, absolute delicious and our son got the pepperoni also really darn good on a thin crispy crust and not cut into slices but a round pizza with a square cut made sharing easy and it was good. My wife got the Spanakopita which I've had better but it was mostly different, the taste of the spinach is heavy and the pastry is thin, not bad at all but not our preference read more

One of those small town institutions the locals swear by. In this case it's a pizza joint with some "authentic" Greek selections. The food is just okay. The location is downtown in an old building with a worn 80s feel. TBH, the whole place could use a deep cleaning. Service isn't great either...especially if choose to sit in the back of the restaurant. Don't expect to be blown away. read more
