A little gem in the city of Rolla. My family and I were driving through on a Friday night and needed dinner. We called ahead and had two excellent pizzas ready five minutes after we sat down. Not worth the hype. Their pizza isn't any good. Don't waste your money. Their crust has a bad texture and their sauce is more of a meat sauce. It's a classic in Rolla and everyone says it's fantastic but I think they've changed their recipes or something. They do have decent hummus. read more

This place has a lot of potential, but it's just so/so for me. Service can be pretty hit or miss. Despite billing themselves as Greek, there really isn't much I'd call Greek on the menu... gyros and kalamata olives don't count in my book. Add some moussaka or pasticcio and we'll talk. Also, my biggest complaint is the size and price of the "dinner" salads. They are tiny, yet still priced like a full meal. This has been one of my favorite restaurants for almost ten years. I am obsessed with pizza and this is some of the best out there! Their crust is homemade and absolutely amazing. They have a ton of specialty pizza to choose from, but I still always stick with their pepperoni. It has a generous amount of cheese on it and you never leave hungry. For an appetizer I always get the cheese balls with a side of ranch, it is such a simple item (fried cheese cubes) but they are to die for. My favorite salad is te Greek salad. They are very generous with the feta cheese and it dressing is wonderful. It can be pretty busy at times since it is so popular, so don't expect to always be in and out quickly. read more

We've been making a trek between West Plains and St Louis every Sunday for a month, which means we drive right through Rolla. We were hungry for pizza this week do we looked up places, Alex's had great reviews. We must agree! Great pizza! They definitely have their own unique style but it is really good. This place got good reviews so my husband and I tried it for lunch one day. I got their chicken parm lunch special (which came with spaghetti) and my husband got a calzone. The chicken parm wasn't very good, bland and greasy. The spaghetti was also bland. The sauce was nothing special either. My husband liked his calzone, but again, nothing to write home about. I was a little disappointed because we were looking for a good local place for pizza....unfortunately this won't be it. read more

A staple every time I come back to Rolla. They expanded not too long ago which greatly increased their capacity. Thank you for all the great years of memories, great crust, CHEESEBALLS and baklava! I went to school in Rolla and this place is alright. For being a local pizza place it's great but I just never developed a taste for it. It's a pizza place and it also serves greek food which I liked the best. There's also things like philly cheese steaks and italian food. The cheese ball appetizers are delightful and it's the best place in town for toasted ravioli. Pizza...meh. Everything else was pretty good. Is this place run by children with a new Easy Bake Oven? We ordered over the phone for delivery and the girl that took our order was apathetic and in a hurry. For the price I was excited for the pizza but when the equally apathetic boy delivered our pizza...disappointed is an understatement. The pizza was what I could only assume was crackers and cheese popped in a microwave. It was cold and didn't even taste mildly good. We also ordered a salad and received no plates or silverware and not enough dressing to coat a quarter of the salad. Skip this place if you can, PLENTY of better options. They have definitely done some remodeling which makes more space. I also like the fact they have more selection as far as salads go. I only come here once in a blue moon because they're kind of expensive. I'm always impressed when I do though. The service is very friendly and fast! I love their fried mushroom and fried ravioli. Alex's makes my favorite pizza on the planet. So good!! I also enjoy their spaghetti and gyros.

The service was fine and friendly. The garden salad came from a package with iceberg lettuce and obvious store bought shredded carrots and cabbage. Not a fan. The pizza was hot and you could tell they are trying to make their own dough but this is a problem as the dough has no life and zero flavor which is disappointing because the toppings are also just not up to par for the prices. Again, canned mushrooms, no real tomato sauce with flavor and the pepperoni was hard to fined. Maybe they were looking out for my diet. My wife, seven year old son and I stopped in to this place on our way to the hotel. The food was pretty good, the cost was exceptional but what made the visit a blast was, Sam, the bartender!! She's only there on Fridays, but she was very personable. She made us feel like we were regulars and made us feel at home. You CAN NOT miss her Bloody Mary!! I visited Alex's Pizza on 12/23/18. I had a group of three. Wait was less 5 minutes. Restaurant was extremely busy with large groups and many to-go orders. Our server arrived after 5-7 minutes to take our drink order. We knew the wait would be long, so we placed our entire order the first time we saw her. The second time we saw her, she delivered our appetizer and salad within 10 minutes of ordering. She also refilled our drinks upon request. 45 minutes pass. No sign of our server. Our well done, over cooked pizza arrives. The server brings plates then disappears for another 45 minutes to 1 hour. She never checks our on pizza or refills our drinks. We ordered and pay for extra cheese on the pizza but do not receive extra cheese. Our family at home requests we order a pizza for them to go. We thought we would order the pizza when our server came back to check on us but it never happened. I call the restaurant five times then finally get through to place a 'to-go order' from our table. We were told it would be 45 minutes for the 'to-go' pizza. Our server finally returns to empty drinks and burnt crust left on our table, never apologizes. We pay for our pizza then drive around for 30 minutes waiting on our 'to-go' order. We arrive on time, pay for our pizza but are told it will be another 10 minutes. I speak to three separate staff about our terrible service all of which half heartily apologize and uncomfortably walk away from me. Finally our 'to-go' pizza is ready, I double check it, and take it to our family who waited over 2 hours for said pizza. Luckily the 'to-go' pizza was amazing -- extra cheese as ordered, extra pepperoni as ordered, not burnt. I live in KS and rarely get Alex's Pizza except when visiting family. I was very disappointed in the quality of my food at the restaurant, our service from our server, & customer service from the three additional staff I spoke with. If a Manager was on duty, I never saw him/her in the 2.5 hours I was in the restaurant. Our pizza and service for dine in was 1 star. Our pizza for 'to-go' the same day was 5 stars. I averaged this rating to 3 stars. read more

Pizza is good, however, their menu boasts 'fresh crisp lettuce greens' in their $6.49 Greek salad, so I was extremely shocked to see a Bag-o-salad ? Iceburg lettuce with the telltale signs of cabbage & carrot slivers, the low grade crap that even fast food chains would be embarrassed to serve. I mean seriously - fake salads? This is an item you'd only expect to see at place that serves frozen pizzas. $44 for lunch for 2 and we got glorified bag-o-salad. Unacceptable. If they skimp on such an important key ingredient, makes me wonder what can their sauce comes out of. read more

If I could give this restaurant a negative star for service I would!! My party of four was seated for well over ten minutes with no acknowledgement or any sort of service. The restaurant had a moderate amount of customers at the time with ample staff roaming throughout the restaurant. Nothing to criticize , just total praise. One of the best if not the best restaurant in Rolla if not in the entire Phelps County area. The décor is warm and inviting and extremely relaxing. A great place for that romantic evening. My friend and I recently dined at Alex's and found our waitress to be a top notch professional. Warm , friendly , very polite as well as prompt and attentive. Super awful service. Went at 210p on a Saturday afternoon, and they couldn;t handle the crowd. Don't plan on going during a sporting event. It was fairly busy but NO WAIT. We waited about 10 minutes before we saw a waiter (no menus given while we were seated). After ordering, we waited 38 minutes for a couple of pizzas. I ordered a small appetizer at about 25 minutes, because it was taking so long (I told them that). They just apologized for the delay and said it was because it was crowded. Wouldn't you expect to be comped for the appetizer or maybe desert? Home made humus was really good and pizza was good but nothing to rave about. I will NOT GO BACK. read more
