After spending time exploring downtown Martinez's antique shops and farmers market, we headed over…read moreto Five Suns Brewing Company for lunch and refreshments. It was a beautiful day, perfect for sitting outside and listening to live music. The staff was extremely helpful, answering all of our questions and even offering tastes of their beers and sours. I'm not usually a fan of sours, so I went with the Ernst Amber Ale, while my friends ordered the Cosmo Sour and the P-Wing Sour. For sours, they were surprisingly tasty. I may have to give them another chance. Street Steam Bunz was the food truck of the day, and we ordered rice bowls with bulgogi beef and chicken katsu. Both were served with fried rice, ginger, and pickled cucumbers, and everything was delicious. A great way to spend a Sunday. Five Suns and Street Steam Bunz both earn five stars from me.

Nice, casual spot to hang out. The staff is friendly and helpful, and happy to make suggestions and provide samples. Prices are actually reasonable, noticeably more so than comparable places. I had an OG Burst, and a Ghost Moon Pilsner. The pilsner was very good. RB had the Granger porter and enjoyed it. There is a food truck by the patio, from which we ordered a grilled cheese, which was good. You can also bring in outside food if you prefer. Would return for another visit next time we're in downtown Martinez.

We love Sepay Groves olive oil! Our go-to oil has been the Frantoio but we have discovered other…read moreoils that have a more earthy taste and are higher in polypheonols so we have been buying those as well. Their flavored vinegar is also fantastic. My favorites are the raspberry and black cherry. I'm glad this place is nearby because it's difficult to find good quality OO outside of Italy.

I visited to get another bottle of the: Sepay Groves…read moreFrantoio EVOO which is cold-pressed olives with a high poly- a bit peppery, grassy and (to me) a tad bitter. I use as a finishing oil drizzled on roast vegetables or for pasta dishes. Frantoio olive oil also has known health benefits! A great antioxidant, reduce inflammation, help with lowering cholesterol and for heart health due to high polyphenols. I'm all for it...a daily tablespoon or two will do ya! If you're a bit more adventurous you can go with the other high polyphenol EVOO of Spanish olives called Hojiblanca. Plenty of options of vinegars and olive oils to sample before you buy. Bought the 18yr old aged balsamic which elevates any dressing and your friend's will comment "how come mine doesn't taste like yours" (evil laugh!) ...quality ingredients make a difference! Staff helpful and will provide ideas for pairings with food and educate on the wonderful selection of products. Store shelves were not fully stocked (when I visited in Jan) but you can ask and a bottle will be filled in the back. Plenty of street parking and towards the end of First Street. Make it a destination for waterfront hike, shopping and eating! Support small business

I ordered the the happy hour burger and added bbq sauce , sautéed jalapeños and avocado. Perfect. Husband ordered Yowza! Bacon, fried onion rings, cheese and bbq sauce. The bbq sauce is house made and perfect balance of tangy and sweet. Chicken tenders- pounded chicken cutlets perfectly battered and crisp. Empanada - yes, empanada. This restaurant has Peruvian flare. It was excellent and it came with a delightful aji Amarillo sauce. I ended up using it in everything! We took a tamal home and it came with more aji sauce AND pickled red onions. Out of this world!!! Service was also friendly and super helpful without being over the top. It's a solid spot and you can tell that the staff genuinely cares about the food they serve. Love this place!

I want to like this place because Martinez needs small cute family style restaurants like them, but…read moreoh my gosh are they slow. Like really slow. I came here to meet a friend for lunch on a Friday and we both ordered salads. A half hour later her salad came and we waited a good 10 more minutes for mine. I really dislike when restaurants bring dishes out separately and why in the world did it take forever to get two salads? We were the 1 of 2 tables at the time our order was taken. So let's get to the food, I ordered the kale apple salad and sweet potato fries with Dijon aioli. The fries came with ranch instead, they later brought out the dipping sauce that was ordered. They were crisp and tasty. The salad was beautifully assembled, but the dressing was a little bit on the vinegary side. This is what I will say, give them a try but if you have a hard 1 hour lunch time then maybe call your order in ahead of time because you might not make it back in time.

I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but what I have I would certainly order again! Over the holidays I wanted to try their version of crème brûlée and grateful to see the sugar crust right before serving was thick and lightly warmed from "fire" process as I know it should be served. Of course, smooth perfection rich custard followed! Their Salmon dinner & teriyaki wings, another favorite alongside the beer of my choice! I've also loved their innovative drinks that I've never tasted before, that they feature regularly. It's great to step into a place where the Waite staff seems to enjoy their environment and serving the public. Thank you Six Eleven for your 1.5 years now, family friendly restaurant & bar here in Martinez, a fun place to confidently bring a guest (especially when warm enough and outside seating is available) and also to shake a leg with the younger generation on an occasional weekend night. They also have an upper "attic" space or the outside courtyard available for private events, 3 for me so far. Please do continue to thrive 611 through these crazy times we're in. Buy Local Y'all!!
