Well overall really liked this place. PROS: The atmosphere was a nice, casual one. Omg, the was pretty darn good. The lavish bread with the yogurt dip was delicious. Def a recommend. I got the Lamb Shish; my friends got the curry chicken, beef/lamb gyro, and the veggie iskitah (sp?). Their yogurt sauce is very good and the spicy sauce in the gyro is uber spicy so if hot is your thing, def get the gyro. CONS: The lavish bread was not included. None of us got appetizers; Just entrees. Apparently you only get the bread for free if you order appetizers. Plus the bread was a bit expensive for being hollowed-out bread. We went back later in the evening for another bite. We got there at 10:30pm since they advertised closing hours was at 11pm so thought it was good timing to pick up gyros. Well was very disappointed to find out they locked the doors. When we knocked on the door, we asked why there were closed if they advertised 11pm closing. They said that day was just a 'special' exception to closing early. Weird and pretty disappointing since we just wanted takeout. read more

Lavash was divine, along with the yogurt dipping sauce and the hummus. Chicken curry kabob was good. My husband liked his meal as well. Service was good. They don't serve alcohol. Overall was very pleased and would definitely come back again. read more

My husband and I had the Chicken Shish Kebob and the Lamb Cops. The meats were flavorless. The rice, cabbage and green beans were drenched in oil sitting at the bottom of the plates. I think the oil came from the meats; I'm not sure. The service was good though, and I really liked the look of the place. They just need to season the food a bit more. read more

Passing thru on our way to Indian Lake, wanted a quick supper. It was quick and very good! Had lavash - puffed hot bread made in their brick fire oven - with yogurt dipping sauce, nicely spiced. Chicken kebab was tender and very tasty. We'll be back on our next trip. read more

Decent food... prices are over the top for what you get, but overall the flavors and presentation were on point. Kudos to the back of the house. The food was decently presented, and very quick after the order was put in. A hair in the food, however, is a basic faux pas that they unfortunately missed. However, when we told one of the servers, it was quickly taken care of. Front of the house are inexperienced, inattentive, and for the 3 small tables that were here during our visit, drinks were empty, silverware had to be asked for, and took way too long for anyone to come over to ask about the service or food. A 20 minute wait for the check is ridiculous. I guess they forget the most important part of staying in business. Proper service in a timely manner. read more

The food here is very good. The tzatziki sauce is a bit watery. The lafta bread is delicious. I had the Greek salad with gyro meat, it was very enjoyable however there were no onions on the salad and I had to ask for the tzatziki sauce. My father in law had a beef/lamb gyro but it didn't have any lettuce, tomatoes or onions. Basically just meat and pita For dessert I was excited to order kadaif which is one of the 3 desserts on the menu, but much to my disappointment the waitress said they didn't have any. The establishment is a nice size but they only have one bathroom for the customers. When it is full the line is so long. I would come back however the few negative aspects of this restaurant hold it back from it getting 5 stars. read more

We go there every time we visit the area. Always consistantly good! Get the mixed appetizer sampler (caution- it will fill 2 people up). The fresh pita from the oven looks like a football on steroids. The place is a refreshingly good restaurant in a sea of tourist traps and mediocrity. read more

Amazing turkish food in lake george!! Who would have thought! I had the mixed grill platter and the levanah bread. This turkish bread is similar to Indian roti but better. It is made fresh to order straight from a stone oven. The mixed grilled kebabas were excellent. All the meats were moist and grilled to perfection! read more

Excellent Mediterranean food. We had the chicken kabob dinner, chicken gyro sandwich and hummus with their homemade bread. It was all delicious. The staff was friendly and service was quick. The food was fine. Just fine. We went as family of 4 looking for a place with vegetarian options. We are from just outside Boston in Watertown, Ma where great Mediterranean food is easy to find. I was shocked at the prices. $8.95 for a pretty small serving of mediocre hummus was crazy. Also, the falafel was just strange. Edible I guess, but how does a Mediterranean restaurant not nail falafel? The people working were very nice so that was good. I love Mediterranean food because it is delicious and affordable. This place is a great dinner spot in the area. The bread is homemade and baked right on the spot! Absolutely delicious. The cheese pide as well and is worth coming back just for it! My friend had an entree w lamb w some tomato sauce and she said it was fantastic. Chicken shish was a bit average but lamb seems to b great. This restaurant was such a find in Lake George that we ate there twice in one week. Amongst other items, they offer saucy platters (mushroom sauce, tomato and yogurt, and curry) that accompany the meat of your choice. The side dishes are tasty and the lavash bread amazing. The pizza style kids meal was yummy. In all, Home-cooked taste that will leave you wanting more. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was terrible all around the table starting from falafel to the curry chicken platter. The chicken in he curry chicken platter was rubbery, dry and lacking any sort of flavor. The falafel balls were small pellet shaped things with no taste. If you are a vegetarian save yourself the pain and just go somewhere else. read more

Here's another case of incredible food served by less than incredible people. We literally had to hunt down our waitress just to get service. The server lacked any human emotion (I hope she wasn't a robot), and we never heard one ounce of joy in her voice. She was nowhere to be found when it came time for the check, hence my decision to tip less generously than I normally do. The atmosphere was great, the brick oven with the roaring fire really made the place feel cozy. My mother ordered the Gyro, and I must say it was one of the best I've had in my life. My brother had the Chicken Shish, which was delicious but greatly benefited from a few liberal shakes from the salt mill. I ordered the Felafel Platter and was quite impressed by the flavor of the sauces and how well they complimented those little deep fried balls of joy. Order the Turkish Coffee as well, it was incredible. Overall, great food, great interior, but unsatisfactory customer service. If their service had been even a little bit better I would have given the place 4 stars, EASILY. A little on the pricey side, as well. A dinner for 3 people set us back $50. Definitely one of the better places to stop in for dinner on the pathetic strip that is Canada St. Trust a local's word. ;) read more

I had the mixed kabob, which was good, except for the bread below the kabob. The bread soaked up all the oil and didn't taste very good.

Decent Mediterranean place in town. Was sit towards the back of the restaurant and had a constant windex smell flowing through out my meal. Seems like there is a slop sink on the way to the bathroom that they use for cleaning products. I had the lamb chops and the wife had a gyro. We both agreed the food was well seasoned and tasted well. Place is casual with waiter service. I suggest requesting a window seat and enjoy. read more

I have been there quite a few times at this point and the food is very good. I have had the falafel on numerous occasions and the beef and lamb gyro is delicious. Be sure and try the sour cherry juice. Also, the lavash bread and the baba genoush. The owner and staff are very friendly. Pay attention to the wall decorations, they are an interesting mix of traditional Turkish decor and whatever was hanging in the previous shop. We ordered the beef and lamb gyro and a chicken gyro...and it was not that good. The gyro is more like a wrap the normal thick open pits gyro I usually have in Dutchess County at Julie's and the Greek Festival is a far cry from what they serve here. The lamb and beef did taste much better than the chicken it they were both bad. The burnt sesame seeds on the outer part if the wrap and the sauce really made it it tip towards terrible. I did not try anything else so my two stars are for the meat gyros only. read more
