New Faces but the same delicious food! The owner retired and a family member took over the restaurant. Not to worry, this family also runs the Ali Baba Kitchen in Simi and they have the secret sauce for serving up authentic Mediterranean dishes. We ordered our usual Falafel plate that comes with 4 falafel, hummus, Baba Salad and tabbouleh with pita bread. The falafel is at the same high flavor level as well as the Baba salad, tabbouleh and hummus. We ordered our usual chicken and lamb skewers and they were also seasoned and grilled to tender perfection. The only difference I should point out is that the owner is not making the pita bread to order as before. I did mention it to the server and they are working on perfecting the process. The ambiance and warm, friendly service are the same and the new ownership does not disappoint when it comes to sourcing high quality ingredients and serving up flavorful dishes. read more

Since it is under the new ownership you get much less chicken on your Chicken Shawarma salad. I used to have that meal for two full meals, now there is barely enough meat to eat in one meal. So disappointing. read more

Coming from the East Coast, I was dumbfounded by the portion size of my to-go chicken shawarma given the price. In addition, what I received did not match the portions shown in the pictures displayed. I was very disappointed, as the same chicken shawarma on the East Coast costs me about $15 and comes with nearly three times the portion I received at Baba Kitchen. Adding a bit more chicken and rice would not bankrupt the business, especially since the cost of chicken and rice has not increased significantly since COVID. read more

I'm convinced those recent 5 star reviews are bots or I must have caught them on their worst day they've ever had. I never leave reviews and I don't like to hate but I have been to a ton of Mediterranean places and this was by far the worst. Very Dull and tasteless. It was like eating cafeteria food. Nothing looked like the photos on the wall and tasted even worse than it looked. So angry I paid $26 dollars for a single plate. I couldn't even give it away to any of my family that never complains about food. Staff was friendly all things considered but sorely need to step up their game in the kitchen. Paintings on the wall were beautiful but the rest of the place look dirty unfortunately. Wish you guys the best of luck. read more

New owners! I went in this afternoon to get some hummus and pita breads, and met the new owners - a nice young couple. They're working on the lighting, don't seem to have increased prices, and they gave me a couple extra pita breads this evening. We'll be back. read more

My wife and I were here with some friends for lunch. Service was very good, as was the food. We had been here some years ago and had found the restaurant to be good then also. For appetizers, we had Hummus bi Tahina and MOUTABAL (BABA GHANOUSH) Then we ordered SMALL FAMILY COMBO, KEBAB COMBO, and LAMB KEBAB. Only 'complaint' and not a biggie: Should have been given more spoons to ladle all the food, as we were eating 'family style' and shared the dishes. The restaurant may be difficult to locate in the big mall, right opposite the bank and next to an Indian restaurant and Smart & Final. Very Good Mediterranean food. We will definitely come back. This is one of our favorite spots in town for takeout food. We love the chicken and salmon Shawarma and the falafel's can't be beat. Their tahini sauce is to die for as well. We usually get takeout but we've dined in once or twice and they actually let you bring your own alcohol so we brought a bottle of wine. read more

We picked up falafel sandwichs to go. The sandwiches had no sauce on them. Falafel is dry by nature. Try eating a sandwich with no sauce. We had to wash it down with water. Dry and pretty much inedible. read more

I used to work down the street from here and would make it in at least once a week for years. Love this spot. They are always consistent with the quality of food. You're guaranteed fresh juicy meat, never dry and awesome sides. This is not your traditional authentic shawarma. I ordered dinner for my family nine people. I picked up the food at 3:00 on the 26 th. It was raining, I parked and crossed the street I was told that I could park in front of the restaurant and pop open my trunk and they would put it in my trunk. I was given salad which I didn't order for free. I had a remarkable experience with the helpful, friendly and polite people. The food was fabulous and very beautifully presented. Small pieces, no flavor, cut with the grain instead of against the grain making it more tough. Inedible.
