I recently went with a big group of friends for a birthday party. The customer service was top notch and the food was delicious. The humus, chicken shawarma and lamb kabob were fresh and authentic. The restaurant has new owners and they have done a nice job updating the place since the last time I had gone there. I ordered dinner for my family nine people. I picked up the food at 3:00 on the 26 th. It was raining, I parked and crossed the street I was told that I could park in front of the restaurant and pop open my trunk and they would put it in my trunk. I was given salad which I didn't order for free. I had a remarkable experience with the helpful, friendly and polite people. The food was fabulous and very beautifully presented. This place used to have the best lamb kebab! They must be under new ownership. Been twice in the last 6 mos - both times so subpar. Small pieces, no flavor, cut with the grain instead of against the grain making it more tough. Inedible. Great selection, friendly service. Authentic. The wife says it was the best falafel she's ever had; was seasoned perfectly. The falafel salad had avocado and a light dressing that was delicious. The pita sandwiches are with Schwarma not Gyro and are likewise tasty and generous; nice and messy. We also enjoyed the hummus & pickles very much. I was really hoping this establishment was related to 'Ali Baba's" located in Simi Valley. I think in the past I heard it had no affiliation, but still wanted to give it try. Right of the bat I knew I was going to be comparing the two since I'm a huge fan of AB's in Simi. I started off with the Stuffed Grape Leaves and it just was the worst part of the meal. The rice was overcooked, and it lacked in pop in the flavor department. I followed those up with the Falafel Pita Sandwich, now it wasn't bad, but falafel was a little dry, and once again not much flavor soaking in the sandwich. It does typically seem understaffed, but that hasn't ruined the quality of the food. The chicken had a hint of lime and was seasoned really good. The hummus was creamy and tasted great. I was really excited about the beef shawarma sandwich but it was a little bitter, sadly. I am a soup lover. This is one of my favorite "soup kitchens." The flavor is amazing, I've had some of their vegetable and meat dishes too. All flavorful and delicious recipes from their home country. The Father, Mother, and Daughter work very hard. Perfect little family run restaurant. I recommend them to all of my friends, and they are only three minutes from my house. Everything is fresh and made to order. The kitchen is visible from the counter, so you can watch your fresh food being made right in front of you. Highly recommend! Also, prices are very reasonable for the quality of their delicious food.
