Beautiful spot right at the base! While it is a little pricey, if you order the correct thing, it is definitely worth it when you combine quality of food and convenience on resort. Our server was absolutely amazing. Very attentive and always kept our water refill. I even asked that our table will be moved because there was a loud party next to us and they accommodated me. I started off with a half to dozen fresh oysters, they did not disappoint! My husband and I split the special which was filet mignon and Oscar lobster tail with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The steak fillet was cooked a beautiful medium rare and the spiny lobster was perfectly poached. I almost wish we would've each gotten our own plate! The kids got a kids hamburger and chicken nuggets, both were happy, and I was happy with the price point. My friend has a Gluten allergy and so she got the tuna poke bowl, and was not overjoyed with it, however, the server quickly replaced it with a gluten-free burger and she very much enjoyed. This place was fine - a bit disappointing for ski mountain food and expectedly overpriced. We could have skipped the poutine , the nachos were fine but undercooked, and the hot cocoa was nothing to write home about. The restaurant wasn't too busy in the afternoon on a Saturday, so it's a roomy place to grab a bite and have a place to sit down in the middle of your ski day. It is sad that the signature restaurant at one of the best ski areas in the East Coast is basically an overpriced diner. They could not even make an edible burger. The linguini tasted like it was cooked in the jacuzzi at the Pump House water park. They don't know how to make a Moscow Mule. I could go on and on but I feel bad as it is because I love Jay Peak. It is my theory that this restaurant does not have a chef. They have some person with no training trying to Forest Gump his way through a corporate recipe. Look, the food is "OK" if it were 30% cheaper. But at its price point, it is really just a charade. Don't eat there. Go to the bar restaurant across the hall for better menu and value. She was so helpful with food recommendations and everything came out quickly with lightening speed service!!! Skip the "Tower Bar" (since food is exactly the same menu) and just swing by "Alice's Table" literally next door!!! Best views of the mountain by the window is recommended!!! Truffle fries are great to share between 2 (huge portion for an appetizer, which is great for truffle lovers, you will finished the bowl) & the New England Clam Chowder (bowl was enough when you're hungry, cup is too small), delicious and fresh. This is one of the sit down restaurants that you can choose at Jay Peak. I think you have to keep in mind that it's not going to be 'fine dining' food, but for two cold skiers looking to warm up from subzero temperatures, it was filling and good enough for us. On Saturday we split two apps: jumbo wings and poutine. Both were tasty, and lots of gravy with the poutine plus local cheese curds- this made it excellent! The manager was going around making sure everything was going smoothly. On Sunday the service was definitely slower for some reason...perhaps a little short staffed? I ordered a bowl of clam chowder, and the bf also ordered some but in cup size, and then buffalo Mac and cheese. He thought the Mac was basic, but the chicken was crispy and hot and added good flavor to the rest of the Mac. We both liked the clam chowder- creamy and warm, but not anything totally mind blowing. However if you want a sit down experience versus just cafeteria food, I would recommend! read more

We had reservations for the $38 per person NYE buffet, which included prime rib and several side dishes and desserts. The atmosphere was decent, service was good (you really only order drinks since it's a buffet, but the food was sorely lacking. The au gratin potatoes were undercooked/crunchy with no discernable cheese, the fish was pretty good but cold, the pasta dish tasted burnt, and though the prime rib was tasty, they refused to give you a slice thicker than tissue paper at the carving station, which completely ruins any enjoyment of eating prime rib. The dessert station was a mess, with melted items and others that looked like they were dropped. My family and I ate at Alice's Table for dinner on Christmas Day (12/25/22). Our steaks were raw! My son developed food poisoning after eating half of his steak because it was raw, not rare, raw! It was seared on the outside only but completely uncooked on the inside. Cold and red on the inside. I ordered one medium well and it came out very rare. After sending it back, it was still rare. My son sent his back, but it still came back very rare. Barely cooked at all the second time. Have no clue what those cooks are doing back in the kitchen. Do not eat here. We ate here for a birthday dinner during a ski-cation, in February school break. The food was incredible and the service was friendly and efficient. The cocktails are expensive but the strenth and flavor balance were great. For food, we started with the poutine. The short ribs were really tender and a highlight of the evening. I followed with the prime rib special and my wife had the bolognese. Everything was cooked perfectly and we felt like we were at a fancy restaurant in Boston. I have a feeling they struggled with staffing issues during COVID, and larger groups may still be challenging for them to serve. But it was just the two of us, and we were really happy. read more

Based on the reviews I had really low expectations for this place but not many options when staying at Jay Peak for more than a couple days. I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything we ordered was great - the prawns and grits, Caesar salad with white anchovies and the special which was PEI mussels. I swear the mussels were as good as I once had at Les Halles in NYC. The servers were great too. The beer and wine selection wasn't amazing but I saw someone order a Negroni cocktail and it looked legit. So...a definite recommend. read more

We stayed here at Jay Peak for our hockey tournament. It is hard to find good food on this property other than the ramen from Miso Hungry. Food here was literally average. The lobster app was completely unimpressive served on a sweet biscuit. We also found 2 pieces of grey hair in it which was gross. The waitress was absolutely food clueless. When I said it was odd putting lobster on a sweet biscuit she looked at me like a deer In headlights. The linguine with clams was also average. My son ordered the clam chowder and it was ok at best. Food was microwaved heated because it comes with hot/warm/cold spots, salad was good but almost soupy with the amount of dressing that was poured in, soup ordered was hardly warm. We complained about the latter but the waitress just rushed into microwaving it with all the crackers already in the bowl. The dessert, puff pastry something, was super chewy and nowhere close to what puff pastry is supposed to be served. It's like it's been made 2 weeks ago and kept in a fridge until it was served last night. For the price of the meal, we expect something better. City prices, not the experience. First, I called to reserve a table for four for 7:30PM on a Sunday. I was told maybe earlier or later, but there were no tables for 7:30PM. Okay, let me know what you have available. She puts me on hold. Then, I'm told that actually we can put two tables together for you at 7:30PM. Great. The person proceeds to tell me that I was lucky as these were the last tables for the night. Wouldn't you know? Fast-forward 3 hours later and we get to the restaurant, which is not close to being half full (and stayed that way all night). Service is slow and mind-boggling idiotic at times. We dinned with a 3 and 6 years old. The waitress filed up the very large water stem glasses to the top for the kids. I asked her if by any chance they might have kid plastic cups. She looked at me with big empty eyes and finally spurted "you mean like for young kids?" Really??? No, I mean like souvenirs. Worse part is that they did have kids plastic cups and other families were using them as well. The food was pretty bad. I had a grilled pear salad with blue cheese and walnuts to start. The pear was this ugly shriveled chunks of an unpeeled pear that might have been grilled in some past life, but had been stored in a fridge ever since. They hadn't even bothered to bring it back to room temperature, nor had they bothered to dress the greens correctly except for a drizzle on the top layer. For my entree, I had lobster ravioli, which didn't taste anything like lobster despite the big chunks of lobster meat scattered on the plate. That's because, the kitchen thought my plate required a full goose of garlic to have flavor. I wish I was stretching the truth, but my plate was covered in half cloves of garlic. I was looking forward to eating here all week after several meh experiences - farm-to-table in Vermont sounded just right. The restaurant gets credit for getting close and having the right look - but the menu needs serious work. The sausage plate needs more cheese and sausage and less pickle. The sausage itself is very good though. The hummus on the pickle plate is all wrong (though tasty). The ravioli special was a hit with my husband - my chicken was underseasoned and the vegetables tasted suspiciously pickly. The kids meals were both well portioned and good for them. The service was the best we had the whole week - very accommodating and friendly, though casual and familiar. I edged between a 3 and a 4 star here because the overall food was not really 4 star - but relative to what else you'll find on resort, this deserves a 4. read more

Terrible, awful, and dismal for brunch. We were seated at a bench that spanned along one long wall of the restaurant but when you sat down the table was at your chin unless you were over six feet tall. We did switch seating but our waiter, Sean, never came back to our table after our seating and cup of coffee. No one ever checked on us or came to refresh the coffee...the one thing that all coffee drinkers like! The food was pedestrian at best. NO BACON at breakfast? No salt or pepper on table and no sweeteners...no teaspoons wrapped with the knife and fork? The breads were all gone from the display tray at 10:00am with only English muffins available...no bagels! The only hot and more than acceptable item was the omelet bar. The roast beef had seen better days and the fish was left untouched by most dinners as it was cut into tiny, tiny servings floating in liquid...The deserts are cut up in the kitchen into minute servings....are they saving themselves money or placing me on a diet? The chocolate chip cookies are cut into small wedges as are the tartlets. If they feel that the cookies are too large, then make smaller ones but it should look like a cookie...If they think a two inch tart is too large make them smaller...but cutting them into tiny wedges... That is insulting and it is one more person manhandling the food before it comes out to be served. Not enough waitstaff and they are not well trained... When we left, the hostess didn't even ask if things were ok? The women's restroom did not have seat protectors and there was no trash near the door to throw the dirty paper towel in that you use to open the door with so that you don't have to touch the handle. You end up dropping the towel on the floor to get rid of it. If you are use to amenities/good treatment and and enjoying how you spend your money, then I would not recommend Alice's Table, however if you are captive at the resort, you will have to assert yourself to get what you need. Customer service is the number one goal of a restaurant and they are nowhere near reaching that bar. read more

Had a great lunch here yesterday. There were a bunch of people waiting outside for them to open at 11 am. They should think of adding a couple breakfast items and opening earlier! The hostess was practically run over and gave us all a little attitude, which was deserved by some. Since it was our last ski day of the season, we went all out and tried a bunch of food. My favorites were the buffalo mac n cheese and the candied bacon, which I asked to be put on my burger instead of the regular bacon for a small charge. Everything was great though. We loved the maple ginger salad dressing! Wish they sold it in the store. Our server was excellent. She was funny and always there when we needed her. I also love the big tea selection. It is a little expensive, but it's a much finer experience than the cafeteria and you are choosing to pay for that. read more

Alice's Table is Jay Peak Resort's resident fancier food place. There's a very nice atmosphere going on but you can still walk in with your snow boots on and not feel out of place. The food's a little pricey but you've got a lot of delectable sounding options on the menu. I enjoyed my meal of veal osso bucco, even though I was the very last of 14 to get it so it could have been warmer. I seemed to enjoy my meal the most with it;s tender meat, little polenta cake and a bakes half tomato with a breadcrumbs and cheese. I even got a little spoon so i could scoop out the bone marrow- a delicacy I was incredible excited to try. It was all quite filling for me but some people left that table a bit hungry. For example, the scallop dish only had three small scallops- not the kind of thing one craves after working hard on the hill all day. The service really took the experience down a notch. We had a server that was very nice but he dropped the ball. The bread was very late and he never brought sharing plates for the break and appetizers. We were a large group, but still I was that the bread was an issue at other tables as well. I had a good time. We got raspberry creme brulees that were alright but nothing special. However, it's nice to have a place like this right on the hill with no fuss. read more

Alice's is at the Tramside Lodge and has a great view of the mountain. Reservations are needed on weekends and when the resort is at capacity. Menu has limited entree choices but all are good and there are usually specials offered as well. On this trip 4/6 to 4/8, ate there twice and had the cheese plate, tuna crudo (very good), hangar steak (also very good) and a seafood risotto special. Same kitchen serves the Tower Bar next door. Wouldn't recommend burgers or sandwiches on buns, as we all had burnt rolls with sandwiches during lunch at Tower Bar, and one of thought companions at Alice's for dinner had a burnt roll (and I don't mean toasted, I mean entirely black). read more

I attended the Korean Barbecue Friday night buffet with complimentary lift tickets to the top of Jay Peak. It was my first Korean Buffet so I thought the food was spicy. People around me seemed to be enjoying the food. Our more experienced diners thought the Pork belly slider bar was a hit. The salmon was flavorful and the barbecue chicken moist, the Vegetables a bit tough....they are in a steam table so no surprise there. Staff was attentive and we were seated quickly. We did have reservations. The views here are fantastic and the lift to the top of the mountain not to be missed. The cost for dinner and the lift ticket was 25.00 per person and included ice tea or lemonade---So a good value. This is my second visit here the first time was just a regular barbecue. I did prefer that menu, we did have a great time though! read more

As the old cliché goes, "The devil is in the details." Admittedly, I have only been to this place once (yesterday) for breakfast so this review is based on that single visit. Physically, the restaurant looks very pleasant. It was very clean and with an open space. If you're seated by the window, it makes for a pleasant view for breakfast as you can see the ski run, gondolas, chair lifts, etc. Since the restaurant is new, the interior is in good repair and quite fitting for what I assume they were going for, i.e., high quality resort restaurant. The price of the breakfast buffet, which at $12.00 was very reasonable, and the level of service provided by the server (Sean) helped make the dining experience more positive. I just noticed that one of the previous reviews for Sean was negative. Maybe he read that and adjusted his level of service accordingly. The service delivery expectations are higher in restaurants in a resort setting. There are definitely several opportunities for improvement for this restaurant. I realize that it is very early in the season so I certainly do not expect the buffet to offer excessive amounts of food in the serving trays. It is evident that restaurant staff recognized this as some of the serving trays were barely half full. However, if you are going to offer a buffet, you should give a reasonable amount of choices. Isn't that what a buffet is all about? For example, the only breakfast meat offered was ham. When other guests asked if bacon was available, they were told that it was not possible to make bacon available. The breakfast potatoes appeared appetizing but lacked seasoning. The pancakes had crispy edges. I was also disappointed that for hot beverages, the only option was a paper cup. Even diners serve their coffee in coffee mugs so I was surprised at this. It was also disconcerting that they were playing country music in the background. Overall, the breakfast service at this restaurant is definitely not up to par. Management needs to start looking past the look of the restaurant and start working on the details. If offering choices are not possible in the low season, do not offer a buffet. An abbreviated breakfast menu would help in limiting choices and allow restaurant staff to concentrate on the quality of their offerings. read more

The menu is limited to a half dozen or so high end entrees and way-overpriced appetizers. I don't mind paying a good price for fine dining, but unfortunately the food was like it came out of a cafeteria. I ordered the Hangar Steak, expecting, well, a steak, but it was steak tips. I asked my server if it came with anything "like say, potato and veggies" and he replied that there is a starch and vegetable as part of the dish. What I got was four or five pieces of steak plopped on top of some greens with six potato wedges to the side. needless to say, I left hungry and out $92 for the two of us. Big Fail Jay Peak. I guess, what else would I expect from a resort that bilked it's investors out of 50 million bucks and pays its staff minimum wage. read more

Not to mention excellent salads, fresh ingredients, and strong presentation. We only sampled one entree, the grilled pork chop, and it was delectable ! We live in another VT ski town, so we came into the establishment expecting prices to be a little inflated. Our only small complaint is that the grilled cheese was made with orange artificial looking cheese. Really ? In Vermont ? For a place that espouses farm-to-table, and with so many amazing cheese producers in this state, there is no excuse for serving neon orange Velveeta, even to kids. read more
