Was in the train station waiting for Amtrak and came across this sandwich shop. I am 68 years old and from Trinidad so I am very particular about what I eat and expect tasty food. I had a conversation with an employee who explained what's in each sandwich and she made me 2 sandwiches for my family and both were very fresh and delicious. The trip back home was easy as I was so happy to have a great meal, Fresh hot and tasty can't ask for anything more. Long time Alidoro fan, but I had a mildly unfortunate experience, which stung a bit more considering it was almost $17. I want to start off by saying that contrary to some of the other reviews, I found the staff to be extremely friendly. The customer in front of me was a first timer during rush hour and the cashier was extremely patient in answering her many questions and providing suggestions at her request. I ordered the Pinocchio with a few small changes....but unfortunately upon opening it on the train I realized I received what I can only guess to be smoked chicken, mozzarella and arugula. I chalk it up to an innocent mistake and assume I may have received someone else's sandwich, but still a bit disappointing considering I'm not a fan of smoked chicken and somewhat despise arugula. read more

Grabbed lunch at Alidoro on Friday afternoon. Overall a good food experience, but a combination of slow service with expensive and far from perfect sandwiches make it tough to recommend. Quality: Ordered two sandwiches before our train ride. The first was the excellent Il Sole, which combined hot sopressata, mozzarella, truffle, hot pepper jam, and arugula. Rich and spicy, a great option. The second was the Gothamist, which missed on two elements. First the lemon basil pesto did not work, it was too light and citrusy. Second the prosciutto was bland, and could not balance out the burrata and tomato paste. It also did not help we ordered it on the focaccia, which seemed to compound the lack of flavor diversity. Quantity: Good sized sandwiches with a lot of protein. Value: $13.50-$17.50 for Sandwiches. Ambiance: Alidoro is a sandwich shop with a location in Moynihan Train Hall. The food court area of the train station is very nice, and this sandwich shop is near the center. No independent seating, but some limited shared space near the bar, however it is mostly set up for take-out orders. Crowd: A few others waiting for their food. Service: Very slow, don't expect to grab and go. Parking: No easy parking near the train station. read more

The first time couple of times I got a sandwich they were incredible. The Pinocchio and the Italian Cheesesteak. It went pretty much downhill after that. The last few sandwiches I got there took a ridiculous amount of time (in a place where you're stopping before catching a train), they were out of ingredients, left an ingredient out and were skimpier on the meats. The workers are visible making the sandwiches while you wait and they always look unhappy, bored and confused and move really slow. For almost $20 a sandwich I think I'm done and won't be giving them any more chances. read more

After posting my review I promptly heard from the owner of the company as well as the manager of the store I ordered from. I received an apology and a refund, as well as a complimentary Goldbelly delivery with ingredients for four sandwiches. It sounds like our situation was a fluke and they were very apologetic. I wanted to update my review because I really appreciated the personal response and quick resolution, and because it was so great to finally get to try the sandwiches. The ingredients were generous sizes and extremely high-quality. It was also fun to assemble at home and experiment with different combinations. If anyone who is not local to NYC is considering ordering via Goldbelly - I was impressed with how quickly the shipment arrived and that everything in the box was packaged so well and was still nice and cold. (It's very hot out right now so I was a little nervous about everything arriving safely). Next time I am in NYC I will try ordering from here again because there are several other sandwiches I'd love to try. Overall I am very satisfied with how things turned out. read more

Terrible service! I ordered two sandwiches, a tea, and two cookies. After waiting several minutes and everyone before and after me had received their food I asked about my food. I was told "five more minutes" for two cold sandwiches and an iced tea. I had a train to catch and my spouse called and said the red cap was ready to take us to the platform. I told the person at the register to cancel my order and void my charge. She nodded and said okay. I got my credit card statement and the charge of $40.89 was on my statement. I called my card company and they called the restaurant and patched me in. We spoke to Juan. He promised to issue a refund immediately. It's been 10 days and no refund has been issued. When I asked Juan why it took so long (15+ minutes) to give me two COLD sandwiches with a very small line he said "we cut the meat to order." REALLY???? I smell a scam. Especially since he said he'd issue the refund and didn't. Some people just expect you to not fight back. Wrong. read more

I recently visited Alidoro Moyinhan. I had the awesome privilege of BYO (build your own) sandwich. I stuck with what I know. Turkey.... But tried some pesto paste and sun dried tomato paste. That was BANGIN!!! It was on super soft bread and wrapped in gold foil. I felt like royalty!!! Sandwich was delicious. I will go back no question!!! Delicious breakfast sandwich (Davide, as i recall) Superb brewed coffee Very presentable store at the new Moynihan at the newly renovated Penn Station Accommodating and smart staff I was not familiar with how their menus system works or is called and they were very patient to explain it to me Plus i wanted regular coffee wc they dont really have, again they explained a closely comparable Americano coffee that they made to resemble what i was familiar with which by the way blew me away with its excellent taste. Their sandwiches are great and are a perfect option to bring onto the train. There are plenty of sandwich options and I had no trouble picking out 2 that I like. I did not get a chance to take a picture of my sandwich because it looked so good that I dug in immediately. I highly recommend giving them a try the next time you are in the train station. I was there Friday afternoon and a skinny young lady with big lashes, think she's one of the manager, handed me the sandwich I bought and all I could do was smell the marijuana on her. I was looking forward to trying this place for a while (including other locations, I love sandwiches). Wow, for a sandwich in a train station, this was excellent! I had the namesake ALIDORO on the seeded semolina bread. Heads up, it was surprisingly spicy, but awesome. Honestly it stands up strong to other "not in train station" sandwiches. I am appalled by their customer service and their delicate mannerism. The line was outrageously long, and I still got my sandwich within four minutes. And called them back to talk to them about the prosciutto and burrata being completely absent, they were uninterested. Left a phone number because a manager was supposed to get back to me. Hello my fellow yelp memebers. I'd like to start off by saying I've been wanting to try Alidoro for a while since my sister constantly brag's about this place ( not sure if she was talking about this specific location ). I've come to visit NYC for the first time ever since a child & surprisingly when I got off my train I passed by one of the Alidoro locations (the one in the AMTRAK station) when I realized what the store was I immediately needed to try it. I called my sister up & asked if she would like anything & of course she did because she loves this place. I started off by ordering a simple sandwich, a cold brew & a bag of chips. The employee who took my order going by the name of Boni was very rude & unprofessional. She rushed me through my entire order, she gave me a messy drink & walked away from the counter as I was giving her my order when she finally came back I proceeded to give the rest of my order & she rudely asked me " AM YOU DONE". At that point I did not want to order anything but by that time the sandwiches were already being prepped. I got a bottle of regular water & she charged me for a sparkling one which I noticed because of the name. I informed her that she had the drink wrong & she said " IT TASTE THE SAME ". At that point I just wanted to walk away but I know how much my sister wanted the food so I paid. She never gave me a ringer so I waiting for an hr & when I finally approached the pickup station about it she says that she gave me the ringer & that it's not on her if I lost it & that she's not obligated to watch people with the ringers she's just responsible on handing them out WHICH SHE NEVER DID! My food was cold! I ordered 2 hot sandwiches by the way! So my food was cold & my drink was warm. I've insisted that I speak to the manager who goes by shalay but she's no better than the employee that took my order! Very rude very unprofessional! Took the employees word over mine & here I am thinking the customer is always right! What a joke! she stated how the store is busy & there was no one available at the moment to remake my sandwiches being that they were cold & soggy. She said that there's nothing physically wrong with them & that the most she can do is get me a new drink. I've warned her about me coming to yelp about this encounter!
