Solid sandwich shop Came long after the hype of all antico vinaio arriving in ny. Finally got to try it when trekking downtown to fd. The food court it's located in can get really hectic and line system can be confusing with so many pickup orders from all the office workers. Store design is clean and modern with limited service interaction but they were very friendly and nice. I ordered la paradiso and it was a good sandwich. I enjoyed the pistachio cream but I felt they could have put more meat/filling because after a while it felt like just a lot of bread. Since this is an Italian chain I was hoping to be transported back to the same taste as when living in Italy but didn't quite make it towards that level. Nonetheless I wouldn't mind trying another location at a later point but probably won't necessarily return to this one given how hectic it is being inside an office building. read more

Tasty sandwich! Fresh! The prosciutto was cut fresh for my sandwich. The bread was great with light crunch and salt on it. It tasted great and was light. It was large portion and was able to save half of it. I did fee it was a bit dry the sandwich and could have used a sauce or oil on the inside. read more

Tried the NUMERO 1 - Porchetta & Pistachio Cream & Gorgonzola Cream. Bold option to have two strong flavor, Gorgonzola Cream def overpower the whole sandwich. We had to eat it open-faced. Regardless. This is one of my favorite Italian sandwich place ever! It is relatively new in Brookfield Place with their sandwiches. They have so many different sandwiches to choose from and even had special combo deals of a half sandwich paired with either red or white wine. Did not get that option because I got to return work. I was amazed at their flatbread on how soft and fresh it was! It was the freshest bread ever that was very very very easy to chew off! I was scared my teeth were not strong to chew the bread off because I got such weak teeth and jaw. Thankfully this bread was so damn easy to chew off! Now I'm resorting to All'Antico Vinaio for a sandwich when I have teeth problems! I got a La Paridiso sandwich, which consists of mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio cream, and pistachio. I'm in love with pistachio and wanted to try the pistachio cream in the sandwich. The sandwich was quite pricey but it was worth due to the bread's softness and fluffiness. It was very tasty when I bit into the whole thing. I could taste the thin slice of creamy and slimy ham in my mouth with the pistachio cream. It was very refreshing and tasty although I did not really like how the mortadella was very slimy. It had a smooth and slimy texture so it was very easy to chew. Good for my teeth. Overall this sandwich protected my teeth and jaw. Sucks I got those jaw and teeth problems. This restaurant made my day and helped my teeth out. Also I wish they had online ordering you can do directly place online but they only have Uber Eats so you got pay surcharge prices. This is to avoid the long line waiting. Finally got to try this place. Honestly it's more of a 3.5. Def a must try but not really a place that's I'm dying for more. Bread is really the show not the filling. I ordered La Schiacciata del Boss. It was literally like 1 slice of cheese and 1 slice of prosciutto. The truffle didn't taste much like truffle. But that bread....chefs kiss was beautiful. I had the el paridiso and I honestly could barely taste any flavor. That is a bit on me though since I could have chosen one the was spicier with sharper flavors. Went to check out Hudson Eats in Brookfield Place. There are a bunch of eateries in there. All'Antico Vinaio caught my eye, as I remember friends mentioning it before. It was hard to choose which sandwich as a lot of them sound good. Decided on the La Summer which is prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoe and basil. Asked for sun dried instead of regular tomatoes. Also, asked go spinkle olive oil and salt and pepper. The bread is toasted and sandwich is made in front of you. There was minimal wait. There is a lot of seating in the area where I sat down to eat. The sandwich was hot and tasty. It wasn't too big of a portion, so I was able to finish the sandwich and was full. I like the large size of All'Antico's sandwiches, but do find them to be a bit skimpy on the fillings. My favorite sandwich is the La Caprese, but I recently tried the La Broadway which had a bit more to it in terms of fillings, but I still didn't like it much. We stopped by the Lunchbox event at Fosun Plaza sponsored by Downtown Alliance and had the opportunity to try one of their immensely popular sandwiches at the very reasonable price of $10. Unlike many of the other lunchbox vendors, there was no line for this booth. The menu was limited to one item, and they were premade. To be honest, I am very satisfied. The ingredients were all high quality and fresh. I can't remember enjoying a cold sandwich more. Ham, cheese, dried tomatoes, fresh basil with a white dash of sauce made my day. read more

So, this place is very interesting! A few weeks ago, my sister bought a sandwich (A summer) from there. I was very excited to eat it and after a couple of bites, I felt something in my mouth. I got so grossed out as I pulled out of my mouth, a few strands of long hair. I can honestly say that I almost threw up. Since then, I haven't been able to buy food from there. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint! We got 3 sandwiches to try LA BROADWAY, THE NEW YORKER, and VENICE BEACH. My favorite was the LA BROADWAY. The crispy bread with the sweet and savory cream plus the spicy zucchini with the arugula, such a refreshing bite. You won't even miss the meat. Tried this place in Italy and was excited when I saw construction for this at Brookfield place. Ordered my go to which is La Summer and it did not disappoint! The tomatoes were super fresh as well as the prosciutto and mozzarella. The line was quite long since it's new but it did move relatively fast. It's not much different than the line at Dig. Only minor complaint is I did ask for them to cut it in half given how huge it is, but guess they forgot amidst the lunch time rush. But I will definitely come back (even though it is more expensive than the Italy version!) but it's NYC and with all the imports I get it. 5/5 will definitely order again. read more

Heard this was a popular chain in Italy, and it did not disappoint! I got the La Schiacciata Del Boss ($20), drawn by the prosciutto and truffle cream. It is expensive for a sandwich, but the size is ginormous, yet not cut at all. That's ok, as it made it all the more fun to devour. I usually eat a lot but even this required 2 seatings to finish. Was shocked and super excited to find this place that I have been to in Italy before!!! I didn't think it would compare, but these sandwiches are pretty dang good. I got the La District which had sundried tomatoes, cheese, arugula and some sort of prosciutto I think--highly recommend. The bread was warm and all of the ingredients were so fresh!!! Wow, that was good! I scarfed down that sandwich, it was so tasty and the textures altogether were mouthwateringly delicious. I got the special La Regina sandwich, and I highly recommend. I actually first discovered this place in Venice and always see a line out the door, but was visiting New York and had to give it go. This place (different location) was recommended by a co-worker so had to try it. Very pricy for sandwiches in a mall food court setting. Extensive Italian sandwich options. Had the Italian Hot and it was good. BIG sandwiches, should've split with my wife. Didn't need the chips we got. Kids got the La Summer and liked it and wife got Mamma Mia. It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

I have vision issues and when I told them (with additional explanation) they didn't proceed to assist me. A couple overheard my exchange and said they have had issues in the past too. To anyone visiting from out of town: From this New Yorker, please know if you experience something similar at Sarge's it is not the norm ... most NYC restaurants, cafes, grab/go, coffee shops, bodegas will treat you kindly, without attitude. The guys behind the counter are amazing... work hard, helpful. Please tip them, if you have the means to do so.
