I've been back to Alii Nails twice since I've been back home in Kapolei, HI. The first time I got a full set gelx , pedicure, eyebrow wax & hybrid lashes. I'm back again almost a month later and got the acrylic full set, color change & my eyebrows. The husband and wife who does acrylics are amazing they provide top notch service. Kim is amazing as well she works quick and efficient. The vibe from when u first came here when they first opened is still amazing and the service is quick. Unless you come around a holiday like I did, please expect quick service and amazing work. EYELASHES TOOK 45 MIN AND THEYRE STILL ON!! 1 MONTH. One thing I do like is their stamp card!!! I absolutely love it & definitely retains me as a customer. I'll be moving back for good and will be back for my girly maintenances!! One thing: it's easier to pay in cash. When questioned about why they didn't use a business account, the poor nail techs tried their best to respond. Overall, the techs were great but the shady business practice leaves much to be desired. Edit to respond below. Taxes can and should be charged except the Venmo account people pay is a personal account. How would you be able to account for the taxes with no proper documentation? The proper way would be to charge with a business Venmo account. Otherwise, you're scamming customers. read more

Over $100 and several hours later, I walked out with a set that honestly looks like it should have been corrected before I ever left the chair. The shape is inconsistent, the nails are bulky, my cuticles were overworked, and the attention to detail simply wasn't there. I understand that everyone has off days, but this level of workmanship doesn't reflect a premium service or premium pricing. When clients are paying luxury prices, they should receive luxury quality. I got these done on Saturday 8/8 because I wanted to get them done for my birthday. These won't even last two days and my birthday is on the 15th... highly and extremely disappointed. The quality isn't there. For almost $200, this salon is extremely overpriced for the work that they do. Updated review. Even after all these years, THE best nail salon when it comes to QUALITY. I've tried other nail salons but this is top tier. All the staff does an amazing job, but my favorite to get my nails from is Mia. She does THE best work, is super friendly & always gives me exactly what I'm looking for! This salon is peaceful & not super chaotic like other salons. They keep conversations to a minimum so you can fully relax. The only con is that it takes longer than most salons, but they PAY ATTENTION to detail and I swear my toe & fingernails LASTT SOOO LONG. I definitely would not suggest this place to anyone.. please be aware they will charge you for every little thing and tell you after I did a full set at regular price but charged an extra $5.00 to shape, $5.00 for the length and another $10.00 that I did not understand. Keep in mind it's a brand new "full set" During my service Lam stated he does not fill when it comes to Gel x-nails. He only does full set. He said it doesn't matter if you do fill or full because it's the same price. He commented to me that's it's easier cause he doesn't need to work shaping them like you would do for a fill My service to so long cause he literally was watching something on his phone along with answering the phone to book appointments. During check out I wanted to understand my charges but he got very defensive. Even the lady that was sitting next to him. She inserted herself into our conversation and was very rude about it. For my Pedi I had Cindy I believe and she was the sweetest, always constantly checking if I liked the process or if I was okay. Love her. For my mani I believe I had rose, I'm sure I gave her a tough design, and instead of looking challenged or flustered she smiled warmly and gave me a thumbs up. Worst experience I've ever had. I got who I think was the owner and the only male. To start he made me wait so he could eat even though I had an appointment. He was very impatient and was working really fast. He cut my nails unevenly. This is where it gets bad, he became very frustrated and rude when I didn't like the shape of my nails. I asked for an Oval and he got mad and flailed his arms because he said it was oval, but it wasn't. It was flat at the top. I showed him a picture of oval and he got even more aggravated saying that it was almond. I was so uncomfortable and tense. I almost cried. After he shaped it to what he says was almond, a woman came over because she could tell I was upset and asked what shape I wanted. When I said oval she looked at my nails and said that was oval. He crossed his legs and continued to show frustration. I literally googled OVAL French tip so I'm not sure how this is my fault. The worst part is they charged me $105. It was regular acrylic. I'm sure they charged me extra for his "almond" and I know French tip is extra but I can't seem to figure out how it comes out to $105 before tip, just a mani. The bride whose wedding I was getting my nails done for got gel X, chrome, and pearls. Hers was $105. How does that make sense? The first picture is the brides who did get almond. I called to set up an appointment, which was easy and quick. The place had a clean vibe. When I arrived, I asked for a pamper me pedicure with regular nail polish, no gel. The woman helping me told me gel is better, but I said no thanks. She brought it up again later and even asked if I wanted to upgrade to the fancy pedicure with hot stones for circulation since I was pregnant. I said no again. Somehow, she still ended up putting gel on my nails, which I didn't notice at first because I don't get my nails done often. When I went to pay, I saw the price was much higher than expected. I was hesitant to leave a review because the woman that did my pedicure was really old and I feel bad for people her age that are still having to work, but I drew the line when my pedicure started to crack... I went to this shop on 06/11/25 and today is 06/14/25... first of all my toenails were cut super crooked (I had asked to keep them square). And I felt bad because she was old and I would just take it as a lesson learned not to go back. I left a decent tip and went on about my day. Pedicure date with my daughter. It was a long time since I treated myself to a pedicure. We went as walk-ins, but they do accept appointments. We selected the Spa Pedicure with gel polish. I originally chose regular polish for us because it was the less expensive option but my tech persuaded me to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Service is welcoming and friendly and yes like most nail salons the techs talk to each other in their native language whille they work on you which never bothered me. To be honest, I rather prefer it because I can just sit back and relax especially after a long day at work. My tech did a great job and was not overly aggressive with cutting and filing phases which was much appreciated. The space and equipment are clean. Prices are competitive. read more

Got the Deluxe pedicure, was HORRIBLE! The person who did my feet rushed the entire process & wasn't even worth the cost! I asked for hot stones instead of paraffin because it burns my feet, she realized that i asked for hot stones & didn't choose to fix her mistake. After the hot paraffin, she had another client who was waiting for her while she was servicing me, then RUSHED the remaining process. Along with the massage, that was painful as she had long fingernails that would dig into my feet & massaged my SHIN! The pedicure chairs are so comfortable and they recline pretty far back. The massage settings are light for my taste but the reclining chair makes up for it. The Ali'i Signature Package was a treat. I appreciated my nail tech fitting in a cuticle treatment and file for my nails and letting me stay in the massage chair since I was waiting for my friend. The lady Ivy was doing my nails for months. One day she rescheduled my appointment without asking me and when I told her rescheduling my appointment without asking wasn't reasonable, she said I was being angry and I always "did that".. even though I always agreed to switch the times of my appointment whenever she asked. I am very satisfied with my time here!! I called on a Thursday to make a next day appointment for 3 people. At first, the person helping me told me they could only fit us in at 4PM, but I was looking for 5 or later. Thankfully, she was able to accommodate us at 5 for three pedicures. Their location is easy to find. It's in the shopping center next to Walmart Kapolei where Jersey Mike's and Sports Clips is. We came in 15 minutes earlier than our appointment and they were nice enough to seat us in. We checked in, wrote down our information, and washed our hands. But they didn't take our temperature. The salon is fairly clean and I noticed that they just spray and wipe down the seats after someone's been in it. Their pedicures are pretty standard. Once we've got our toes soaked in, they gave us the menu to choose what pedicure service we wanted. The basic pedicure is $27 and the spa pedicure is $37. The difference is that you get one or two more scrub services and an 8 minute massage. I was a bit taken aback by the prices because I thought it was a bit expensive for the services. But during these times I guess I can understand. However, I know there are other salons that offer cheaper prices. I will be back again because of the staff. They were so nice and took their time will they were doing the pedicure. read more

I don't think I have ever been to a nail salon I've loved so much! When it comes to a mani/pedi, I'm pretty minimalistic. I enjoy a long-lasting gel mani & regular polish pedi. Both my mani/pedis at this shop lasts forever (3 weeks, no chips or peeling) & I love that! The last few times I've went, I had the pleasure of getting my nails did by (Hoang). Monday - September 19, 2022 I was long over due for a pedicure and the location I'd normally go to wasn't open until 10AM but I didn't feel like waiting. I was checking Yelp for the nearest Nail Salons near me & that was open now. This location popped up so I figured let's give them a call & see if they can take me. I called & asked if they had availability for today (9/19/22) & the lady said "yes, what time would you like to come in?" It was already 9:45AM so I just said "can I come in at 10AM?" She proceeded to say "Yes, we can take you." Location: If you know where Walmart Kapolei is, then it's going to be the small shopping area that has the Pandas Drive Thru. It's in between Locations & Sports Clip(?) I believe a haircut shop. As I walked into the salon I then recognized the lady who used to work at the other location I had been going too for several years. It made me feel more confident in this place since I seen a familiar face. I'm so bad at remembering names but I'm happy she was the one who was going to be doing my pedicure. She's very detailed and really makes me money worth it & allows me to enjoy my self care day. The package deal that I opted for was called 'The Ali'i Special' which was basically all of the services that included in the first 2 packages they offered, which costed around $65 but if you're doing gel it was an additional $20. (Wish I got a photo of their diff packages/prices) Which is fine because for me gel can last up to a month. I always ask to have my nails cut really short so when it's really time for me to get my new pedicure my toe nails are long & at that point I know it's needed. Overall, this location was a great experience I'm glad I went early because only 2-people were in the salon already getting pedicures & it didn't seem as busy. I've learned that going to a Nail salon at the beginning of the week is always the best because it's not too crowded or busy which allows the busy to take last minute appointments or walk ins. It's always recommended to make an appointment but if they aren't busy they'd take walk ins as long as someone is available. Definitely a location to recommend if you're looking to get your nails done & I believe they offer other services but just check the website or contact them. read more

I greatly enjoy getting my nails done here. I normally get dip powder nails done by Gigi and pedicures by all different people. My favorite for pedicures are Gigi's mom and Teresa. I like that they have a lot of different packages for pedicures. When I have time I like getting the early package. It does take a little over an hour and is about $65 without tip or tax but it's definitely worth it! I have been back many times and will continue to come back.
