    Relax and Beauty Day.

I've been going to this spa for the last 4 -5 years and it's my favorite. Every time i go I come out like a new person. Escarlet it's the most charming and professional person I know. The best part it's sitting in the relaxation Room and have a glass of champagnes before my facial. I Love it and recommended 100% to my friend.

Alira Med Spa makes sure your needs are met by going above and beyond the expectation. I've been coming here for about a year, and the facials are so rejuvenating. Escarle has the latest technology and skin care products that is perfect for my skin. Not to mention the nicest staff and very punctual. I never have to wait for my appointment. I LOVE alira med spa, and I'm so happy I found my one stop shop! Massage and then a facial is the perfect combo to turn your day around! Thank you Alira Med Spa!!!

Alexa is literally my hair Angel After going to the most popular hairdresser in Houston and suffering from some breakage... Alexa totally brought my hair back to life, and helped me get some major confidence back. Alexa is the only person I trust with my hair! She gets me blonder than I could imagine, helps me maintain it, and keeps my hair so healthy. She's a total life saver and just an amazing energy to be around. THIS IS #HAIRGOALS

I arrived on time for my massage appointment and there was parking out front - 4 parking spots in front. This place is a cute little house that they converted to a spa/salon and is easy to find cause the sign is right out front and easy to spot. I think parking might be a little tough when the 4 spaces fill since W Alabama is such a busy street and it would be hard to get in/out of the parking spaces out front because you have to back out into W Alabama. I went inside and the hostess greeted me at the podium out front near the salon area and told me I needed to fill out a questionnaire, she was friendly.. She took me out back to show me my locker and change into my robe and slippers. The locker was a nice touch but the changing room is the bathroom and you didn't have space to put your clothing. You are then placed in the waiting area where you wait for your masseuse - 3 couches and a fire place. I was not offered water or tea and had to get my own fruit infused water. I wish they also had tea and other items to offer - if they did, they didn't offer me any. My masseuse came to grab me fairly quickly after that. We started slightly after 5pm after the questionnaire and changing. She told me to lay on my stomach and didn't seem to know to go out of the room so I could de-robe, which made it a little awkward. Was I suppose to de-robe in front of her? I waited for her to leave and she gave me a SECOND to situate before she came back in, literally a second because I did not have time to cover myself up with the covers or situate myself on the table before she came back in. After like 10 minutes into the massage, she asked if the pressure was ok, which I appreciated and told her I would like a slightly deeper pressure. The massage felt rushed, she didn't have many techniques and kept repeating the same strokes, the massage was not fluid and at times some of the movements actually felt painful. I did not feel like she kneaded out my knots or got even close to doing so. She focused mostly on my legs and arms, though I specifically said neck, shoulders and lower back in the questionnaire, which makes me believe she didn't read the questionnaire before coming into the room. The massage ended right at 6pm, which was not a full 1 hour.. she left the room and I had to robe up to walk out and tell her that I had scheduled a 80 minute massage, not 60. She told me to get back on the table, did not leave the room while I de-robed again, and did not instruct me how she wanted me to lay. I asked her if I should lay on my stomach, and she said it was up to me what I would like to focus on. Again, I specified neck, shoulder and lower back. She had the same movements she did over and over again for the last 20 minutes, and she actually ended the massage earlier right on time. With the stop in between and ending on time and starting slightly later, I didn't feel like I got a full 80 minutes on the table. She did bring me a cup of water afterwards though. I felt like maybe the masseuse rushed through because the salon/spa closes at 6pm. I scheduled an 80 minute at 5pm and if they didn't want to stay a little later after close, they shouldn't have scheduled me at that time. I got the Travelzoo deal for this and paid $95 for the 80 minute massage. I felt like I could've done a lot better at that price or paid slightly more for something I would enjoy. I don't think I would come back.

    Choppy layers of all lengths

Worst haircut of my life! I made an appointment online, when I got there they said there was no record, but they had "someone" available. (Nit the someone I read reviews about and selected, just someone) I should have listened to my gut and left then. But I really needed a trim, and I was already there. She didn't speak English, NOT AT ALL! Another reason to leave, but I was already washed and in the chair. Then, what was supposed to be just a trim became the "Rachel" cut on crack. Layers everywhere. There are layers in the back that are shorter than my bangs. I couldn't even say anything. I just paid and ran out. The damage was done. I feel like they asked the cleaning lady to cut my hair. I'll have to wear my hair up for the next 3 months at least.

I have been going to Alira spa and salon for the last 3 years and absolutely love it! The owner, Escarle, is amazing! The way she created Alira brings out happiness, peace and makes you feel beautiful! I get my haircut with Ivonne and she does a perfect job! She loves what she does and it shows! My hair has a mind of it's own and can be difficult to manage, but Ivonne always cuts it and styles it in a way that makes my everyday life with my hair easy! People always compliment me on my hair. I get massages with Jesús regularly. He is the best masseuse EVER! I workout a lot and feel so refreshed when I leave. I also feel his massages have helped me to get stronger! Everyone who works there is so friendly! I highly recommend Alira to everyone reading this (and already recommend to all my family and friends

UPDATE: 8/09/2026 -- In response to the owner's comment: Your response makes it clear that you did not fully understand my original review, which unfortunately reflects the same communication issue I experienced while trying to book an appointment. I went back and forth attempting to schedule for weeks and tried to book on three separate occasions. When I finally called and someone answered, there was a significant communication barrier, and the call ultimately ended with the person hanging up on me. You're correct that I've never received a service at your salon--but that is precisely the point of my review. I repeatedly tried to become a customer and was unable to successfully book an appointment. My review is about the customer service and booking experience I personally received. If your salon is so heavily booked that you are unable to accommodate new clients, I completely understand. However, potential clients should simply be told that upfront rather than spending weeks attempting to schedule an appointment that is never confirmed. Professionalism begins before a customer ever walks through the door, and unfortunately, my experience trying to become a client was enough for me to decide to take my business elsewhere.

The thing that kept me from going was the price. Starts at $70. Too costly for me. I'm sure it's a great place and would have done a nice job if I wanted a style/cut.

Parking: Parking is the only issue I have with Cutloose - it's right in the heart of Montrose and there's very limited parking options. They don't have their own parking lot so you do need to find street parking. I've always been lucky enough to get a spot pretty close, but depending on the day that can be a challenge. Price: Their prices are standard and I believe they do depend on your stylist. Ambiance: There's something cool and chill about Cutloose. There's some hustle and bustle, but I always feel comfortable and relaxed here. The staff is very friendly and you're always greeted in the entry area. I believe you're generally offered a beverage when sitting and waiting in the front as well. Other things to note: They do sell various hair styling products They have nice, clean restrooms Their front door can be a bit heavy and I believe has a step up. There is a second floor inside with a few steps up to it as well (for those with mobility issues I think it's noteworthy)
