They made us fill out a paper order since we were a group of 5. Our orders were filled by two different people, Kimberly (who messed up my brother's girlfriend's order and my mom's order) and Paola (who made sure to follow-up with my husband and I about our requests and informed us if they had items that were no longer available). We watched Kimberly put soba noodles into my mom's order even though she didn't ask for it and she denied it, even though she was clearly distracted chatting with a regular customer who was behind us. My mom kept asking and Kimberly was confident she didn't put the noodles in the order and rang the order up. My mom checked her bowl and there were noodles. Kimberly refused to give us the paper order since she had tossed it, but Paola was kind enough to redo the order. My brother's girlfriend had crossed off items from her original order, but Kimberley ended up ignoring her marks and also didn't inform her they had no more of a certain item that Paola had told my husband and I they ran out. She decided to keep her order since she didn't want to deal with Kimberly. Kimberley ended up requesting for the food order she messed up on back and she tossed it. We definitely ended up holding up the line because of the redo for one of the bowls and think that it would've been better if they just did our orders one by one verbally, so we could make sure our order was done right. We've been here a few times. It's a small, local spot right in the middle of the action of Magnolia Park. While I'm not the biggest Poke fan, it's a great, fast, inexpensive option while doing my keto plan as they have lots of lean protein and good greens to fill me up. I find this location clean with friendly, lively staff who give good suggestions. I wish they had tables inside and out but I asked and I think they need parking to do that. I used to work near here and this was my go-to lunch spot. We'd eat here at least 1-2x per week. Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near an All About Poke anymore, but I still come out of my way for the occasional craving. The last few times I've come, the prices have been through the roof, and the portions have shrunk. I understand making cuts due to inflation, but you can't have your portions go down AND your prices go up!? The last two times I ordered All About Poke (this location & another) using online services for pickup, I ordered Large bowls and received Mediums. The first time, I assumed it was a mistake. But it happened again now, months later, at a second location. So I guess the M is now a L?? Worse, they didn't even load up our bowls like they normally do. My son and I both ordered 3 proteins instead of 4, expecting they'd give us extra of one of the others. They didn't. Our bowls were not nearly as full as normal. I used to order a M and have leftovers. We should've easily been able to get 2 servings out of a L, which is why I bought them. However, yesterday with our skimpy "large" servings, my son polished his off and I barely have enough for a snack later. The fish was good. Everything tasted delicious. But $20 base for one takeout meal, without drink, and before tax and tip is crazy. I ended up paying nearly $50 out the door for 2 bowls. TL:DR - Great flavors, good price, great portion sizes. I don't really have high hopes for any fish shops that are far from the ocean, so when I went to All About Poke in Burbank my expectations were pretty low. BUT maybe I'll have to reassess my zip code bias. Located on the Magnolia Blvd with a handful of other restaurants and shops, All About Poke is pretty non-descript. When you walk in, there is a counter where you order from. It's kind of like chipotle where you choose your base, your protein, and then your sides. It's $18 for a large with 4 proteins. This sounds like a lot, but compared to other poke shops and the amount that they give, All About Poke is a steal. They really pile on the fish and have to press down on the container lid to get in all in. I usually order the spicy tuna, salmon, and tuna for protein. I stay away from shrimp and scallop in general, because at any shop those can spoil the fastest. Honestly the fish tastes fine, nothing crazy amazing, and nothing bad, just middle of the road. As for the sides, they too are fresh tasting and fine. How can you go wrong with carrots and seaweed? All of them are pulling their own weight and nothing tastes bad. I've been back a handful of times just because they give so much and the flavors are fresh. I visited this location a few minutes ago to get a bowl, and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with one of the employees, Erika. Throughout the interaction she appeared disengaged and seemed irritated, rolling her eyes several times. Before taking my order, she was sitting on the floor using her phone while Kimberly, the other employee working, was handling everything on her own. This isn't the first time I've noticed this issue. On a previous visit, my daughter mentioned having a similar experience with Erika being on her phone and seeming annoyed when helping customers. On the positive side, Kimberly consistently provides great customer service. She's friendly, attentive, and works quickly, even when it seems like she's handling most of the responsibilities on her own. Been here many times however my most recent experience was awful, my bf and I developed food poisoning after eating the salmon. We didn't realize until after we ate most of the food the quality and how slimey the salmon was. This is a bummer cause this is a pretty decent place but the quality has gone down. First, the workers looked like they were on something (definitely not sober). The fish was subpar at best (tuna was dark red, salmon was looking somewhat old, and fish quality overall wasn't up to standard). The avocado was nasty; barely any green color was visible and 80% black. Absolutely disgusting. I always go to the La Canada location, and everything is super clean and fresh. Fast service, fresh fish, and satisfying lunch! My friend and I came here and got takeout, and it was delicious. They only have one outdoor table unfortunately, but poke is something you grab and go anyways. We ended up taking this to a street down (Black Elephant Coffee) and eating our meal with our lattes. The portions feel small but it's really actually just dense. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful, but I do wish that they gave you more than just 2 add ons. Super yummy spot! the staff were all so nice and I loved how one of the staff had a non-binary name tag! The fish tasted fresh - I got salmon and spicy tuna! I was a bit bummed you could only choose two sides which consisted off seaweed salad, edamame, and 2 other options I can't remember. I chose edamame and seaweed salad - they were both super good! The toppings are all free except mango and avocado but they had a great selection! They had a special sauce called Gangnam Sauce - you have to try! Especially if you like ginger. So we have been coming here for a few years. I may have left a positive review here in the past. This is NOT a positive review. My complaint is not in the food but on the service. Over the past two years we have noticed the staff change and their ability to have an exchange go out the window. We went in a few days ago and there was a woman just laying over the top of the rice cookers. Slouched over it and on her phone. Not a huge deal but to see her armpits basically lying on the cookers was kind of gross. We walked up to the counter and she slowly looked up and slowly brought herself to an upright position. Then says "yeah?" Ummmm ok. No smile. No welcome feeling. Then her coworker walks out from behind the swinging doors and the woman that was helping us turns around and says "what's up girl!?" With a huge smile. Then turns around and her smile instantly disappears. My daughter has been trying to find a job for a minute and these ladies have jobs?! This is and always has been my go-to poke spot since they've opened! Not only is it walking distance from my place, but the fish is always fresh, the staff is always polite, and I'm in and out of there so quickly which makes it easy to stop by on a quick lunch break. For those on a ketogenic lifestyle.. I always get the same thing: medium salad base; tuna, spicy tuna, & salmon for the protein; double edamame (even though I do love imitation crab & seaweed salad, the seaweed salad has hidden sugars & imitation crab has higher carbs); all the toppings except for the fruit and corn; and always add the avocado for more healthy fats! Terrible customer service. I was just there with my husband and the two guys working made me feel super uncomfortable. All About Poke, I like this place. The food is fresh, the price is right and they don't weigh the protein. I love when my bowl feels like a 5 pound bag of sugar. I love making my own, adding rice or spring mix, depending on my mood. The shrimp, salmon and spicy tuna are my favorites for protein. I load up on the veggies and sauces. I take the chop sticks to go but when I get home I bust out the spoon to make sure I don't miss any of the goodness. Ok. The main things I liked about this place were the employees (I know, right?) and the portion sizes. The prices had gone up since the previous Yelpers had photo'd the menu - so it was like $15 for a 3 scoop and $17 for a 4 scoop of protein. But it's kind of like a salad bar in that you can get a bunch of other add ins into your bowl as well. I had like two scoops of crab meat instead of some other sides and one scoop of tuna poke and two scoops of salmon poke. Then added some corn and cucumbers and random things that seemed tasty at the time. My bowl was overflowing and they had to push the lid down to squish things to close it. I couldn't decide on a sauce so I got three little cups of different ones and that worked well for me because I got to try things. Digging into it - I did not like the tuna. Tasted fishy and bland which is not a good indicator of fresh or quality tuna. The salmon was ok and I had more of that so I was happy enough with what I got. I was starving and this had what I wanted at the time, but it wasn't my favorite example of great poke. The staff were awesome though and super nice and helpful. A small bowl gives you two scoops of protein and a medium gives you three. I got the medium with half salad half brown rice which you are allowed to do. Also know that the spicy tuna is pretty spicy here, which I liked. If you check in with Yelp, you get free mango or avocado in your bowl (which is $1 extra each). The only complaint we had was that there isn't a proper dining area to sit and eat. There was only a small outdoor bench (which was taken) or standing side tables inside. It is much better to get your food to-go and eat somewhere else more comfortable. All-in-all, we had a great experience at All About Poke and have already agreed to return again soon. read more
