It was soooo goooood, I forgot to take pics! I came back for round two and took pics for my Yelp Fam! It's located in a small shopping strip, parking can be scarce but everytime I have been, I have been able to score parking in the lot! It's not a super big spot, but it's packed and loaded with yummy dishes! The BEST THAI BASIL PERIOD! Real talk, just get the basil with your choice of meat over rice and it comes with a egg! It's the best thing, the ground meat is cooked and wok'd to PERFECTION! The appetizers are delicious! The chicken Satay, shrimp rolls and calamari are just mouth watering! I was so excited to try this spot because I saw some great reviews. But had to leave even before ordering. I brought my mom right after a long day of appointments and driving, we went here. Parking is okay, not too full during lunch hour, and I found one right away. Walking in, it seemed pretty dark and uninviting with a huge mural on the wall. When we entered, they had some seats open, and we were greeted and told us to sit all the way in the back. I was assuming the lady would follow up with the menu. She didn't. And that's okay, I'm assuming they're really busy. We sat on the table, patiently waited for someone to come over, and went on our phones to kill time. Right next to us is a table finishing up and getting their checks. The staff saw we had no menu and just walked away. She came back to attend to the other table again, and alas, she passed by again. I had to get up and go to the counter and ask for the menu, and she recognized me and seemed shocked that I was asking for a menu. Today, we had family dinner together at Saraya Thai Cuisine Burbank. This is one of our favorite Thai restaurants--we really love coming here because the food is always delicious and the staff are consistently kind and welcoming. Today, we ordered Tom Yum, Calamari Salad, Pad Thai, and Pineapple Fried Rice, and everything tasted so good. The only downside was the Calamari Salad. We ordered it thinking it would be fried calamari, but it turned out to be steamed. It actually looked almost raw, so before eating, I asked if it could be fried instead. Unfortunately, our waitress told me it only comes steamed, so I was a bit disappointed and didn't eat it at all. Other than that, the service was very friendly, all the dishes were delicious, and the prices were reasonable, which is why we really like this place. When we first arrived, it wasn't very crowded, but as we continued our dinner, more and more people came in, and it eventually became quite busy. read more

San Fernando Valley certainly has its fair share of Thai restaurants, and Saraya Thai is our latest adventure in our search for delicious Thai cuisine! Saraya is nice little spot right off Olive and has a bright, airy interior with nice wood accents everywhere. The staff are fairly friendly, although not as swift as I'd like it to be at times. For our early dinner, we had Curry Gyōza (with green curry), Pad Sew Eew with Tofu, Pad Thai with Chicken, Tom Yun Fried Rice (a new one for me!), and of course, my favorite dessert, Mango Sticky Fried Rice. To start off, the Curry gyōza is a welcome start, putting a savory twist to the popular appetizer that's not quite Thai, but delicious nonetheless. Of the two noodles, the Pad Thai is more successful with its sweet slightly nutty flavor grabbing your taste buds with every bite while the Pad Sew Eew is more polite more reserve in its flavor. It's still good, but it is more ordinary. The Tom Yun Fried Rice is, however interesting. I've had Tom Yun Kun soup, and although its sourness is not really my thing (give me Tom Kah Kah any day!), this fried rice version is unique. I'm not sure if I'm love it, but it is interesting. The fried rice just adds a different dimension to it, in addition to the now drier vegetables sprinkled on it. I may just stick to my Pineapple Fried Rice, however. Finally, the Mango Sticky Rice is also different, but not different. Unlike the purple rice versions that I had that clearly used a different grain of rice (which has a slightly nuttier flavor), this dessert seems to consist of regular Jasmine rice with perhaps food coloring? Reminds me of that blue milk from Star Wars. The Mango Sticky Rice is still good, but the extra pale blue color doesn't do much to enhance the experience. Overall, a pretty good Thai restaurant. read more

Second time here and it's not a fluke. Tiny strip mall and the space is comfortable enough. Service is friendly and portions are huge. We had a pad thai with pork that was delicious, especially with added chili. Dumplings were delicious and we also did a won ton soup which was loaded and delicious. Came for dinner. We were stuffed! Lots of good food. We tried the roasted duck curry, moo ping and the gang, and mango sticky rice dessert. While we got 2* spicy level, the curry wasn't that spicy. It was flavorful and rich with the duck pieces (including skin!) and pineapple pieces. We also got 2* spicy moo ping and the gang. The pork skewers were sweet and succulent. The papaya salad was quite hot! We needed the curry to whet the heat. The mango sticky rice dessert closed out a great dinner. I've been here MANY times and found my favorite dish-- the yellow curry with tofu. Normally when I visit a Thai place, I try the chicken pad Thai to "compare" amongst the same dishes I've had in the past, and Saraya's chicken pad Thai was exactly the flavor I liked. I've explored their menu and have only had tasty experiences. I used to live down the street but now that I've moved and have been trying other restaurants in my area, none of them have even come close to how delicious Saraya Thai's dishes are. I miss you! The Tom Yum Noodle Soup is my go to everytime. It's savory with a little tang and just super comforting. The ground chicken is perfectly seasoned and I love the crunch of the peanuts and fried wonton skins. The parking lot is tiny and it can get pretty busy during lunch. Comes with forgettable side salad , but the spring roll was nice and crispy . The yellow curry was a little bit oily, but spicy as ordered. Needs a little extra cream. Had a supper disappointing experience today. I went in to pick up my to go order on my 30 minute lunch, which I have done many times before here, and was told my food still wasn't ready. My pickup time was for 12:33 & it was about 12:39 by then so I ask how much longer which I am told about 5 minutes. I go outside to wait & within 2 minutes I get a text it's ready. The lady meets me at the door & hands me the food. Had I know asking how much longer meant they were going to give me inedible food I would've never asked. I can't believe I paid $20 for cold mushy broccoli covered in so much seasoning it's quite literally inedible. See the pics for what I mean. & it wasn't even good seasoning :/ read more

Saraya is an authentic Thai spot! The flavors overall of each dish to the starting appetizer were all 10/10 rating. Got a a hefty amount of pad thai with chicken. My ground chicken spicy basil was 1 of the best ones I've ever tried. Over rice with fried egg of course. The pot stickers were fried to perfection + the dipping sauce. Their Papaya Salad also level 3, sometimes 2 spice if I want it a bit less spicy. And The Spicy eggplant with Tofu at level 2 or 3 spice. I've tried other dishes but these are my favorite. Price: 4/5the price for all their food is quite reasonable. It's definitely worth the price. It's no bargain or anything but I never feel like I've overpaid. Typically I pay anywhere from $60-$70 for 3 dishes and tip. This is enough to feed 3 people or 2 big eaters like myself. Service: 5/5: though my contact is quote minimal because I typically take out, they are always friendly and always have my food ready on time. They are also generous with utensils, napkins and sauces. Ambiance: n/a: for the last 5 of ordering from here I've only done take out. Delicious Thai food! I went with some friends for lunch last week and was blown away by the food quality and flavor! We told the waitress we liked 'spicy' so she put our order in marked as 'Thai Spicy' - as I explained a few other Thai places I go never really make it as hot as I like. So she hooked us up with the right amount of heat! The Tom Ka soup was so flavorful and the spice was intense and perfect - not too overpowering. Coconut milk, ginger, and lemongrass flavors married perfectly. My chicken Pad Thai was also amazing. As were my friends' curry dishes. It is small inside and popular and packed - so you may have to wait for a table during a rush. I wouldn't go there for the ambiance... only the food. Next time, I'll just call ahead for take-out. 3.5 stars We found this place close to our house and decided to give it a try. The place is clean and it wasn't crowded yet but once we were there we noticed a consistent flow of people come and go. I would have given 4 stars but one thing I noticed is that their portions were quite small and their prices are a little too high. Foodwise, we were pretty happy with what we ordered. We got two apps (eggrolls and shrimp tempura), 2 mains (crab fried rice and crying tiger) and a Thai iced tea. Apps were good and seemed like a larger portion than the mains. My husband loved the shrimp tempura. The crab fried rice didn't have any noticeable pieces of crab, but we could taste it. We asked for the crying tiger to be spicy and I didn't find the sauce to be so at all. There was only one person waiting on everyone. It's a small place and there were about 10 tables total, so service was a little slow. We will definitely go back and try other items. read more

This Thai restaurant used to be a favor of mine until yesterday. I stopped in and had lunch. I ordered the authentic Thai salad which was delicious, and the Shrimp Pad Thai. But the shrimp was very suspicious looking... and wasn't shrimp. I'm not sure what it was. The pieces were chewy and strangely/ perfectly identical. The consistency was unusual too, and since I brought it home to eat, it was too late to show them and ask them what it was that I was served. Either way I ordered shrimp. I paid for shrimp, but did not get shrimp. Darn. read more

I discovered this hole in the wall in Burbank in an unassuming pod mall - simply because the other two places I wanted to go have a frustrating closing at 2pm policy - for those of us who work in film and TV lunch time is a luxury that can come at any time of the day - so I feel restaurants around the studios should be more accommodating. Time issues aside, I showed up to this place at 3pm and the lovely old Thai grandmas who I assume were the cooks were having their lunch at a small table and it looks good! So I went for it. I had Tom Kah soup with chicken and it was the best I've ever had, which is saying a lot I LOVE this dish. it was tangy, limy, spicy (but not overly so) sweet, creamy, with great depth of flavor, I can't recommend this highly enough. I also had the papaya salad which was 9/10 also amazing but there wasn't any grilled shrimp which is often a component and it wasn't a huge portion, but still extremely good. I had to order sticky rice for $4 to mop up the killer sauce. I loved this place so much I cam back for lunch the next week! This is not like me I usually make my own food at home and do that during a work week btu this little gem called to me - I came back and ordered the soup again! Amazing if not better ... that's a great sign and the moo ping - BBQ pork skewers with papaya salad and sticky rice and dang the whole thing was again to die for. This place isn't cheap - not crazy pricey but not like Thai town prices BUT the portions were enough that I had left overs for dinner so it evened out. The staff was lovely, the place has zero atmosphere so don't go for comfort or frills or a date but go for great food. Really tasty food and great service! We came here the other night because we heard the food and service was great. Initially we called Summer Buffalo, but after waiting on hold for five minutes, calling back and getting a busy line, we decided to call this place instead. I was able to order right away and they said the food would be ready in about 25 minutes. We showed up about 15 to 20 minutes later and the food was already ready. We were able to pay right away and use their restroom too. I got the pineapple fried rice with chicken and it was really delicious and filling. It was a little more greasy than I generally prefer. My partner got the chicken pad Thai and said it was delicious. Parking was easy since the place is located in a small parking lot and there is street parking nearby too. I don't even know how to describe it, but I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. I tried my partner's veggie pad thai and it tasted better. Every dish was really flavorful and had the perfect amount of spice - a kick without overpowering the flavor.
