I have officially found my favorite sushi spot in the valley! I was going to gate keep this place but, I decided I had to share my review for this amazing place. My boyfriend and I were across the street at Fantasia watching a World Cup came, and after we were craving hand rolls, when he spotted Toro Sushi Poke House. We took a look at their menu which was displayed on the outside. The prices were really affordable, so we just had to try it, and were so glad we did because this was one of the most affordable and delicious nigiri and hand roll experiences we've had! The place itself is small and intimate. They have a bar area and few tables inside and a small outdoor seating as well. When we entered we were greeted by our friendly waiter, and seated immediately. It was pretty empty around 5 pm on a Friday, which was convenient because we didn't have to wait for a table. I'm not sure how packed this place normally gets, but it was also the long holiday weekend, so that might be why. We started off with the fatty tuna nigiri. For $6 you get two big pieces, which is so affordable, and the quality was amazing! We then each got the 6 piece hand roll set which came with a spicy tuna, scallop, yellow tail, crab, salmon, and toro. I'm not a fan of scallops, so I switched it out with a yellow tail roll. Before we even walked in, the first thing that caught our eye was the sign showing that this restaurant won Burbank's Best 2026. I've visited several times before, but today the service was truly exceptional. The owner personally came to our table to greet us and served each of our dishes, which made the experience feel warm and welcoming. The fish was incredibly fresh and delicious. The baked salmon and crab roll was excellent and much larger than I expected, which was definitely a pleasant surprise! The chicken udon was flavorful and generously packed with chicken. To top it all off, the takoyaki arrived fresh, hot, and perfectly prepared. Parking: There's a public parking structure nearby to park in. It can fill up pretty quickly during peak hours. If not there is a couple of spots for street parking here and there. Seating: The inside of the place is on the smaller side. There are a couple of tables inside and a lot of bar seating. They also have multiple tables set up outdoors. Just a heads up that the outdoor tables are set up on the street with a barricade separating you from traffic. Classic Salmon Poke Bowl: The base of the bowl is white rice with soy sauce. The ingredients include: salmon, masago, seaweed, imitation crab, green onion, furikake, fried onions, cucumber and ginger. It's a cute simple poke bowl. The rice was fluffy and the toppings were fresh. I enjoyed the bowl, however, I wished there was a bit more salmon or toppings because the rice was quite a lot. Build Your Own Poke Bowl: These are the following items I chose inside my bowl: - Base: half spring mix and white rice - Protein: salmon and yellowtail - Sauce: sweet ponzu - Toppings: mandarin slices, corn, cucumber, and edamame This was a lot better than the classic salmon poke bowl. My friend and I were here on 7.13.26 for lunch. I had a great experience, first service here was FANTASTIC... why? Because before we even set foot in the restaurant, we were just outside looking at their menu board and specials and the lovely lady came out and asked if we have any questions!! How nice is that? Anyways, as a matter of fact we did, we saw another sign near the menu board of their $9.99 Monday Special!! Of course it is on, and we went in to eat, we sat at the bar area, I have to say it is a small place (cozy), there was seating outside too, but it was hot. As we were seated, our server got us nice cold water and gave us the menu. I got the special with the Poke. It was good, lots of rice though and I believe not sure if he's the owner or manager but he asked if everything was good and he noticed I finished all the top part, with rice left and mentioned maybe he may add salad to the menu...my friend and I agree. We've been for both lunch and dinner, and every time the food is very fresh, flavorful, beautifully prepared and there is something for everyone. The signature rolls (especially the rainbow and the terminator) are standouts, and the hand rolls are awesome too. They have delicious poke bowls where you can choose from a wide variety of fresh ingredients. The ramen is also extremely tasty. Definitely get an order of the jalapeño poppers! They're insanely good and I don't know where to find a dish quite like this anywhere else in LA. The sake selection is solid (I tried the sparkling sake yesterday and really loved), and prices are very reasonable for the quality. Everyone here is so sweet and really makes sure you're comfortable and taken care of. I've tried the Omakase Set B as well as their poke bowls--both were delicious and very fresh! My only small critique is with the omakase sets. For Sets B and C, you get two pieces of each fish, so my Set B came with eight pieces total but only four types of fish. When I order omakase, I'm hoping for more variety, so I wish they offered eight different pieces instead of duplicates. It feels a bit misleading to call it omakase as it is now. Wow! Love Toro Sushi! We were visiting the Burbank area for the weekend and this place happened to be close to our hotel. The hostess was very welcoming. The WC game was on, which was a bonus! We ordered shrimp tempura, a few rolls, ramen, and poke. My son said that was the best shrimp tempura he's ever had- and he's picky- I had to agree! Fish fresh, food delicious. Toro Sushi is neither of those things in the best way. It won't break the bank and the quality of the food provides great value for your hard-earned money. I went with my wife and little one, and we got three rolls (Rainbow, Alaskan, Terminator) and the salmon collar. The rolls were great (get the Terminator if you like things spicy!), but the salmon collar was probably my favorite of the evening. Our server had told us when we ordered it that it would take longer because it needed to be cooked properly, and sure enough it was the last dish to arrive but the wait wasn't too bad and it was worth it. The dressed salad with avocado, edamame, pineapple, etc., went really well with the nice, fatty salmon. The ambiance was cozy, and we appreciated the little details that made the overall experience pleasant. For example, my wife had some tea and kept mentioning how pretty she thought the cup was. The sushi prices are very fair, especially for their simpler rolls. I am more of a ramen lover & always get their veggie shio ramen. Their non-veggie ramens also look very appetizing & my boyfriend and family members love the tonkotsu as well. The ramen prices are very fair and affordable compared to average prices of ramen nowadays. The poke is also very delicious. It tastes very fresh compared to other poke places I've tried. I like the options and the serving size is just right. It can be pricier than some other options but I think it's because of the quality, so I don't mind. Finally, my favorite appetizer here is the spicy edamame. I order this at most ramen/japanese restaurants I go to, and this is by far my favorite!! (literally drooling thinking about it omg) The vibes are very friendly, their main waitress (I think her name is "Fel"?) is always so so nice and makes you feel at home. Their newer managers (they've been managing the place for a few years now) are Albert and Angie. Started with the sumomono salad and cold Sho Chiku saki. It was just what I hoped. Perfectly sliced and dressed. The quality of fish was immediately noticeable. They have a large section of rolls that are always half price. Ordered the salmon belly. It was so creamy and fresh. Also. Had the crunchy California roll--I will always order this! I had the albacore, salmon and spicy tuna. I asked for salad and sushi rice for the base. Then topped it with seaweed salad, onion crisps, and edamame. Also, had tge ponzu sauce. This place was such a great surprise. A friend had recommended it for high-quality sushi, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I was told they use some of the freshest ingredients around--even compared to a lot of the so-called "authentic" sushi spots in LA--and I could really taste the difference. While I was chatting with the owner, I found out they actually switched ownership earlier this year. The new owners decided to step things up by sourcing ingredients from one of the best suppliers in the area, and it really shows in the food. I started with the yellowtail sashimi, which came with yuzu wasabi and a touch of salt. It was so flavorful I didn't even reach for soy sauce once. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the shaved radish added a nice layer of texture and depth. Next, I ordered a selection of nigiri. Each piece was super fresh and had its own distinct flavor--some topped with soy sauce, some with yuzu wasabi, and others just lightly salted. Stopped off here for lunch. Location wise, it's great as it's along the main strip. There's plenty of street parking as well as parking structure near by. We sat outside which was a couple of tables along the sidewalk. Indoor seating as well of course. Not quite sure if there's seating at the sushi bar since we never went inside. What caught our attention was the half off sushi. Not sure it's it's happy hour or it's all all day thing. You have the usual, nigiri sushi and some rolls that was on the half off menu. The also had combos which was quite nice for the price. We opted for the hand roll combo and omakase meals. Hand roll combo came with six. Sushi combo came with 10 piece, either salmon or tuna sashimi, edamame and 2 hand roll. Sushi was quite good as well as the rolls. Fish was fresh which was a good thing. Pieces of sushi was quite decent size as you think for half off it couldn't be that big as well as quality. Everything was really nice and tasty. Service and staff was quite nice.
