I visited All About Poke for dinner time yesterday. The spot is a bit hidden so it can be easy to miss since it is a bit small. There is plenty of street parking on Ventura or on the side street. Upon entering you can begin your order with a small, medium, or large bowl. I generally get the salad bowl so I can't speak too much for the quality of rice. For a medium bowl (what I ordered) you get 3 proteins. I usually ordered salmon and albacore. The salmon was a bit too fishy for me but the albacore was tasty and flavorful. Seaweed salad was very sweet and they did not have as many sides as other poke shops. Their spicy mayo was lacking flavorful as it was doused with sriracha. Ponzu was a bit weak as well. It's nice that they have a free avocado topping with a help check in. The staff is very friendly and makes sure to take care of your plate accordingly. Picked up a small poke bowl with 2 proteins for dinner last week. Easy street parking, as it's away from most of the hub bub. Store is very clean, the service is fast and courteous. Overall, very very good. I didn't think the small was gonna cut it as far as filling me up, but by golly, it did and exactly so. Not too much, not too little. This is my first ever poke experience and WOW. I am very surprised. I'm usually very weary to ordering any sort of raw fish from anywhere for delivery, but they DELIVERED it in more ways than one. Solid poke spot in the Valley!!! It's a tad more expensive than some of the spots I go to back at home in the 626. To put in perspective, I got a large poke bowl for about $15+ with tax. HOWEVER, I think the price is not too shabby for being in the Valley + the portions they give are a lot more generous and don't disappoint! The ordering set-up is a little different than what I am used to where you pick your base, 2 "premium" toppings, proteins, sauce, and garnishes to top it off. They offer items you'll usually see (i.e. crab meat, seaweed salad, salmon, tuna). Unique items that they offer include sweet egg, chips, pineapples, mango, and gangnam sauce. I'm so happy I have a pokè spot to go to in the area. Out in studio city, you can find this dope spot called Pokè Bar! They set up this spot like a build your own bowl with pokè style items. Various veggies & fish are piled on a base of white rice, brown rice, nachos, or lettuce blend. I've already been here twice and tried their medium & large bowl options. The large is a really big order and I suggest medium for a average appetite, especially for lunch. My girlfriend gets the small bowl size and feels full afterwards. Why is small & medium so filling? That's because Pokè Bar gives complimentary seaweed salad and a scoop of crab with each order. Then you are able to choose your scoops of fish. Food: the pokè bowls regardless of the base, taste really good! I like how they mix your bowl without the rice. Really separates the flavors and gives off a layering factor. The fish is yummy and fresh. The pricing in my opinion is pretty good. The amount of food they give is well worth the price. I always joke and wonder how much my bowl's contents would cost in sushi form lol. Overall, Pokè Bar earned a 4 out of 5 in my opinion. Not sure if this is the same franchise as the Poke Bar in Hollywood as they serve different types of poke, but this one is my new favorite! Poke Bar in Hollywood serves pre marinarted poke (Hawaiian style), whereas this location is a make your own poke bowl place. I got a medium size half rice half nachos with three scoops, and chose a ton of toppings as it was basically unlimited (extra charge for the avocado). They even offer pineapple, tofu, corn, crispy onions, and other random toppings! Upon trying the fish, I was extremely impressed at how fresh and well cut the poke was. I ordered the scallops, octopus, and the salmon. Everything was really good, and I believe this was one of the best poke bowls (Sweetfin is also up there) I've tried to date. Marination was perfect, and they put the right amount of everything in the bowl. I'm hoping that this restaurant will stay consistent with their quality and cut of fish as everything was fantastic. This place is really good. I've had their poke a couple of times and it has never disappointed yet! The prices are pretty average compared to other places, about 10$ for a small bowl but it was enough food for almost two meals for me. They mix your fish and the sauce together in a separate container and I actually happen to like that aspect. i don't like to eat all of the rice that they usually serve you and some places mix the fish with the rice itself so the rice gets sauce, but then that doesn't give you the choice to choose how much rice you want to eat. I ordered a side of avocado and they give you about 1/3 of an avocado which i thought was a great size portion compared to some places. It's a small place so not a ton of seating, probably not great for groups. The fish weren't that fresh, $1 extra for mangoes that weren't ripe enough, and dressing that wasn't that flavorful. My boyfriend got the large with a white rice base, two scoops salmon and two scoops of octopus. He complained about how the octopus' texture was extremely chewy and hard to break down. 3 stars because this place isn't horrible and will fix my poke craving, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is really clean.
