    La schiacciata del boss
    Lauren Y.

I've heard so many good things about this place, and was excited to finally have an opportunity to try it. I went in on a Monday around 11am, and to my surprise there was only one other group (of 3) ahead of me. The employee immediately helped us and asked which sandwiches we wanted. I ordered the Schiacciata del Boss, and the Summer. Each sandwich was $21. Additionally I purchased a Sparkling Water for $3. The employee began making my sandwiches, and I did have a hard time understanding what he said to me because he was mumbling, but I didn't get yelled at so I guess I followed his directions accurately. I will say, It was a bit of sticker shock to realize that I paid $48.77 for two sandwiches and a sparkling water. When we opened the sandwiches, they were actually a lot wider than I had anticipated. I should have done better research because I did not expect the sandwiches to be so flat. I expected them to have a little bit more veggies of some sort in them. The prosciutto also felt very minimal and thin. The bread itself was fantastic. You could tell it was fresh and soft. Additionally the truffle spread was prominent in all the best ways. I did have a problem with my sandwich though.. as I was eating my half of the sandwich, I looked down and there was a hair wrapped around some of the meat and coming out of my sandwich. I tried to tell myself it was my hair, because it was black, but my hair is long and that day it was curly. This hair was short and black and wrapped around the meat going further into the sandwich. Unfortunately, my first reaction was to pick it out and throw the hair on the ground, so I did not get a photo of it. Because I did not have proof, I didn't feel it was appropriate to go back in and address it. The customer service was very nice, so it's my best guess that they would have handled it appropriately if it was brought to their attention. Overall (excluding the hair incident), I enjoyed the bread, but I did not feel as though the quality of the sandwich met the price point of what I was charged. If it had more meat and veggies, then I would have been all for it, but $21 for really good bread, is something I will pass on.

    L.A. fade away

Sandwich shop located in uncommons. Tasty! Not a huge sandwich girly in general. But this spots good! The LA fade away is yummy! Comes with Gorgonzola cream, spicy zucchini. Spicy eggplant, sun dried tomato and arugula, such a great combo, not heavy at all. Light and on the healthier side out of all the sandwiches. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small shop not really a sit in spot just getting your sandwich and finding an outdoor spot in the uncommons patio area which is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do get busy! Breads always fresh and coming out of the oven frequently.

*UPDATED REVIEW* 3/15/26: Came here again, to try out a couple of different sandwiches and honestly these 2 are my new favorites! L'INFERNO: $17 Porchetta, Nduja, Spicy Eggplant, Spicy Zucchini, Arugula This sandwich is packed with bold flavor and the perfect amount of heat. The porchetta has a rich, savory pork flavor, while the nduja, a spicy chili pepper pork spread, adds a deep smoky spice that really makes the sandwich stand out. The spicy eggplant and zucchini bring another layer of flavor and a softer texture that balances the richness of the porchetta. The arugula adds a fresh, crisp bite that brightens everything up and keeps the sandwich from feeling too heavy. The textures in the L'Inferno are honestly perfect. Between the porchetta, creamy nduja, eggplants, and fresh arugula, every bite is flavorful and well balanced. If you like sandwiches with a little spice and a lot of flavor, this one is a great choice! LA PARADISO: $18 Mortadella, Stracciatella, Pistachio Cream, Pistachios This was easily my favorite sandwich here. The mortadella is sliced super thin and has such a smooth, silky texture with a really nice pork flavor. The stracciatella is incredibly creamy, rich, and fresh. If you love burrata like I do, you will definitely love this. The pistachio cream is what really makes this sandwich special. It adds just a hint of sweetness that brings everything together and makes the flavors stand out even more. When it mixes with the creamy stracciatella it creates such a good combination. The crushed pistachios also add a really nice crunch that balances the whole sandwich out. Of course the star of the show is the Tuscan schiacciata bread. It is perfectly baked with a chewy texture that holds everything together so well. I still love how simple but high quality their ingredients are. It really shows how amazing a sandwich can be when everything is fresh and authentic. This place STILL deserves all the hype!

Stopped by All'Antico Vinaio for a quick lunch and really enjoyed it. The staff was super friendly and helped me choose a sandwich when I couldn't decide. The place is originally from Florence, Italy and is known for its big sandwiches on fresh Tuscan bread with quality Italian meats and cheeses. Service was quick even with the lunch crowd, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the whole vibe felt relaxed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely a solid lunch spot.

    La Paradiso + Arugula

Oh my goodness this sandwich shop is aaaaamazing! It's expensive but worth it seriously. We usually eat half and save the other half for our next meal so technically paying for 2 meals. The bread is soft and toasted. The sandwich size is ginormous. You can order via Uber Eats for an efficient pick up or delivery. For my work lunch, I've been getting Paradiso a lot and add arugula, trust me you need the greens. The pistachio cream is out of this world and combined with the elite mortadella, is chef's kiss. Sandwiches: - La Paradiso + Arugula - MY FAVE - Venice Beach + Avocado + Truffle Honey - La Summer + Arugula + Pesto

Have been wanting to try this place ever since they opened, finally was in the area and decided to stop by. I got the La Caprese and in my honest opinion it was just ok especially for the price point. From what I hear is that the game changer is in the spreads. So next time, I would probably get a different sandwich that had a spread included with it. The service was fast and simple, you order and they make the sandwich right on the spot. Located in the uncommons.

Depending on what you order, All'Antico Vinaio can be a great spot for Italian sandwiches. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's limited seating inside and more outside, so it's more of a grab-and-go vibe with a few places to sit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been here a few times, but my most recent visit finally prompted me to write a review. I ordered The Broadway, which is hands-down the best vegetarian option in my opinion. This time, the bread was toasted better than on previous visits--crispy on the outside and soft inside. The sandwich was generously stacked, and the bread-to-filling ratio was perfect this time. Half a sandwich always fills me up, so it easily turns into two meals for me. Flavor-wise, The Broadway really hits: a little spice, creamy stracciatella, and a balance of salty and slightly sweet flavors. Every bite felt intentional and satisfying. I also tasted La Favolosa, and while the sandwich was well-made, the meats were a bit too salty for my personal taste. That said, my husband really enjoyed it, so meat lovers may feel differently. The staff are always friendly and pretty efficient, even when it's busy. And don't skip the blood orange soda--it's the perfect addition and pairs well with the sandwich. Overall, when they get it right, it's really right.

This place never disappoints and the sandwiches are consistent along with the great customer service! I got the paradiso which is my go to with that pistachio crème! My husband and I also tried the seasonal sandwich recommended by staff- the Big smoke with truffle crème. Yum!!! So good! It's that bread that makes these sandwiches with fresh ingredients and to die for creams! The sandwiches are huge and can be shared! Service was great! Staff were friendly and attentive. They knew the menu inside out! They even let me taste the truffle cream which was soooooo good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is chill. They keep this place clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place is always worth checking out if your in the Uncommons area

    The Queen
    Michelle N.

The bread was warm and crunchy, not toasted or pressed, just so fresh from the oven. Each of the sandwiches are made with delicious, meats, spreads and cheeses. They also have a yummy peach ice tea. I enjoyed The Queen and my friend had the Smokey one (can't remember the exact name). So good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ample seating and clean restrooms too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    So delicious

Can't get enough of these exquisite sandwiches! I'm making my way through the menu. This time we tried LA CALVINO with Bresaola, Stracciatella, Caramelized Onion Cream, Arugula. The caramelized onion cream was a very faint hint of sweet that complimented the salty bresaola perfectly. My husband tried the L'ITALIANA Prosciutto, Pistachio Cream, Stracciatella, Sun-Dried Tomato, Arugula. I love the flavor combo of the nutty pistachio cream and velvety prosciutto. There isn't a bad sandwich here! And they are big enough to share. Pair any sandwich with wine, coffee or Siciliana Limonata! Order at the counter displaying all the fresh ingredients. The staff if quick and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is minimal seating in the restaurant but there is a lovely outdoor quad area with plenty of seating and shade.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Four stars overall, but the sandwiches are a solid five! The inside seating area is small and the tables they do have can be messy. Seems like it's mostly the customer cleaning their table after eating. The staff is polite but not overly helpful and some days it seems they are more interested in their own conversation than assisting newbies. I have tried several different sandwiches and the only one I did not like was the turkey, everything else has been great. The price is a little on the higher side but the quality is definitely there. Enjoy! And share because it's a big sandwich!!

3.5 stars for all'antico vinaio. My family stopped by for a late lunch. We were the only ones at the sandwich shop. The workers weren't the friendliest. When asked which sandwiches were the most popular, they begrudgingly told us and acted like we were bothering them. The sandwiches were really big. 1 sandwich is definitely enough for 2 people. I got la paradiso. It was okay. The mortadella wasn't particularly flavorful. The pistachio cream was very thick and heavy. I also tried la schiacciata del boss which was much better. The prosciutto had more flavor than the mortadella. I really liked the truffle cream as it had a nice strong truffle flavor. The bread appeared to be freshly baked. It was fine but I expected a bit more flavor from it. Overall the ingredients seemed fresh but this place didn't knock our socks off. Each sandwich was about $20. I'm glad I tried it once but probably wouldn't return.

This place serves some seriously delicious gourmet sandwiches that are huge portions, super fresh ingredients, and great flavor combinations. They're definitely on the pricier side, but the quality and size help justify it. The shop gets pretty busy, and the indoor seating area is small, so it can feel a bit crowded during peak times. Luckily, they offer outdoor seating, which is a nice bonus, especially on a good weather day. The location is fantastic, right near plenty of businesses and apartments, making it a convenient stop for lunch or a quick bite. Overall, a great spot if you're craving a hearty, elevated sandwich!

I usually dined in, and when I could not, I got it to go and drove it back across townIt was a top tier restaurant in this city. The Caesar was the best in town and the service was a 10 out of 10 every time. The drop off started maybe six months in, and it has kept sliding ever since. Over the past year I have stopped by every four months or so, hoping to catch a turnaround. Today was the worst visit yet The Caesar was not a Caesar. It was a vinaigrette on lettuce. Nothing left of the dish people used to talk about. The fries tasted like pre-frozen steak fries out of a bag. I asked for ranch and got something that tasted exactly like Ken's. The scampi tasted like that same Ken's ranch with a few things stirred into it. Your staff is still genuinely friendly, every time, and the place is always clean. Whoever you have running the front of house is doing their job. That is exactly why this is so frustrating. The problem is not your people. It is what is coming out of the kitchen. I get that you have to flex with demand, and I am sure costs are brutal right now, especially through the summer. Every operator in this city is making that math work somehow. There is a difference between tightening up and swapping out the exact things that made people go out of their way for you. When I go to Olive Garden, I know exactly what I am getting and I make peace with it. I never thought I would be making that comparison here. To be clear, I am not looking for a comp, a refund, or a free meal. I am just a disappointed foodie who used to send people your way. I tried calling their phone number but the only option was to leave a voicemail. My husband and I walked over to Rare Society and they told us it's been closed. Lucky for us they had bar seating available. The food at Rare Society was amazing by the way. The sad part was that while dining we watched others go up to Siempres door. Pretty crappy, way to go Siempre J.B. Also, I'm giving one star because I have to in order to create this post. They deserve no stars. At this current moment they still say open and are still taking reservations.

Food was pretty good with the caveat that we got it to go so it wasn't fresh from the kitchen. Would love to try dine in.

The staff is amazing and very attentive and while the location is small, they have seating indoors and outdoors. The staff does an amazing job keeping up with cleaning of the tables, the floor, and the bathroom. The decor in this restaurant was very French. There was a collection of many things all put together, which made the experience enjoyable. For example they have a cute IG selfie wall that is in the corridor leading to the bathrooms, and there is a secret compartment behind a photo hanging on the wall, which contains mini Polaroids of many guests. While we were enjoying our food, there was music and a singer. The man's voice was amazing. And while he was on break, they would play other cool music. The food here is exactly as they prepare it in France. The French toast is made on a buttery brioche that makes it feel like a pillow. All of the food was fresh and you can tell that they cook with real butter. I will definitely come back to try other dishes or just for a coffee and a pastry. I hope next time I can sit outdoors once the weather has cooled down. Enjoy!
