I have used Mike a couple of times. He works non stop. He works on Saturdays and Sundays (if it is an emergency) and does not charge extra. He fixed my washing machine a year ago. He fixed my dryer this week. When there still seemed to be a problem with my dryer, he came right out and determined it was the vent to the outside, not his repair. No charge. I work with a lot of different vendors daily being in the real estate business. I was connected with AAE this past year and referred them out to a couple clients with all types of different issues. From stoves to washer dryers, they did a great job. I had been working with one of the larger appliance repair companies in San Diego for a while, however their working was getting more and more sloppy and the technicians gave a "don't care"m attitude. Once I started working with AAE i was surprised by the small business feel but great service. San Diego needs more business owners like these guys. I was so impressed I even had them come out to my house and fix issues I had. I thought they were going to be big costly issues. Upon arrival they quickly identified the problem and ended up saving me a great deal of money by repairing a part instead of trying to charge me for a brand new one. I don't write many reviews but these guys deserve one. I called AAE to check out my refrigerator that was freezing everything inside of it. Even though they are very busy they do take the time to call back people with service inquiries in a reasonable amount of time. The other places I called either didn't get back to me or called days later. Mike was kind enough to set me up with a tech closer to me in Eastlake but was willing to make the trip down if he wasn't available the same day. Govan was willing to make an appointment with me early evening to assess my problem ASAP. Our family plans didn't work that day so we scheduled an appointment the next day. Govan arrived on time in the morning and was respectful to my children's sleep time not ringing the door bell or knocking (HUGE) giving me a call as instructed. He was able to diagnose the problem and give me an explanation during every step of the way. Once he figured out what was wrong (less than an hour) he let me know that he would need to order the part if he could not source it locally (the part was found locally). He contacted me later in the day to let me know the approximate service cost including parts and was going to try and make it out to finish the job but we weren't available again. He came the next day and installed the new part and everything is working great! He even vacuumed the area behind the refrigerator! The last guys that came out left it dusty/dirty. read more

Mike is an honest and knowledgable straight shooter. My year-old Samsung dryer would not spin though I could hear motor. Called three companies--first company said I needed a new motor over the phone but they could not locate a replacement part and would have to call me back; the second company said he could only advise via a service call. He came out and told me I did indeed need a new motor which he quoted and which would cost more than then I paid for the dryer. Called All Appliance Experts to get one last opinion before going out to shop for a new dryer--over the phone, the owner Mike told me he thought some small article of clothing was caught in motor and advised me too remove lint guard to check. Sure enough I could easily see the "delicate" that was caught in the drum (note the 2nd company did remove the lint guard as well but "failed to disclose the problem was a piece of clothing"=-( I scheduled Mike to come out to "unjam" the drum. He shared that Samsung does not make the dryer motor which is why the first company "could not find a "replacement motor". While there, he even took the time to "fix" my stuck garbage disposal after I mentioned it--no charge=-). Knowledgable, professional, reasonable priced and honest--can't ask for more--should not expect less--highly recommend All Appliance Experts=-)) read more

Before he came by for a service call - he suggested that I contact the manufacturer to see if the item was still under warranty. (It wasn't.) But I have to say, that's a pretty great move by Mike. I had Mike fix my (built-in) microwave. He seemed knowledgeable, he tore down my unit and diagnosed the problem pretty quickly. He had to order the parts and said it would take a couple of days. "Twelve" days later he showed up to finish the job. I had to do a some chasing and calling but the job got done and things seem to be working well. Would I recommend him? Yeah, but with all the five star yelp reviews I sort of expected a little more timely and attentive service. read more

I am a local property manager specializing in vacation properties. I have tried many companies until I found Mike & Mia. He is far the best appliance company by a longshot. He understands the urgency of vacation rentals and more times than I can count has been to calls for me at 10 o'clock at night to save food in refrigerators that have stopped working. I needed several small repairs done. I already knew exactly which parts needed to be replaced. I called All Appliance Experts, trying to get an accurate estimate without having to be locked into a contract before I knew what they would charge. Unfortunately, like many others, they charge a steep fee... just to show up. I happen to live IN their area, so a service call was a 10-minute detour for them. Yet, they still made me pay $75 to come out and confirm what I already knew - these parts needed to be replaced. I also made it clear that my budget was $200 and listed everything that needed to be fixed. I was assured that the cost would be in that range. Yet, after paying the $75 deposit, and waiting weeks longer than promised it would take, the repair was finally done - costing TWICE more than agreed. On top of that, the technician forgot to order some of the parts we discussed. He also had me buy some other parts on my own, since his supplier did not have them in stock. And he STILL charged a fee that was much higher than we discussed. Long story short, the repair ended up costing me almost $400 instead of $200, with some parts never fixed. I will say that the tech person was nice, polite, and professional. Yet, he did not make it right to address the overcharge, delay, and missing parts issues. He could at least have offered to comp those (cheap) parts for me about which he forgot or offer to refund my deposit so I could find a more reasonably priced option. He did neither. I cannot recommend this company because transparency is extremely important in this line of work, and they really let me down. read more

I've gone to Mike several times in the past, and have always found him to be very professional. He gets the job done quickly, and is very honest with the customer. This was especially true the last time I called him about a repair. My clothes dryer was not heating properly. I was expecting the worst when I called Mike up to schedule a repair appointment. That is, I thought he might tell me it wasn't worth the repair costs, and it would be best to get a new dryer. Instead, after a short conversation with Mike about the problem, he gave me a quick diagnosis over the phone. He thought it was likely the heating coils which were at fault. He advised me to try to replace them on my own, though he offered to come out and do it himself if I didn't feel comfortable with that. He even told me where I could get the part locally, if I didn't want to wait for shipping from an online company. Mike was right, and two days later I installed the part myself in about ten minutes. Called on a Sunday. He returned the call at about 9pm Sunday night. I called back Monday morning, and agreed to have him come out on Wednesday, and he'd call Tuesday to confirm a time. No call on Tuesday. I called him and left a message. Called back and he still didn't answer. Wednesday came and went, no calls, no explanation. As a property manager, it is always important to know you have someone reliable and really skilled you can count on for difficult problems at any and all times. When I was working in San Diego, I found AAE to be extremely helpful for large and small jobs. Freezer (in garage) had yet another melting / defrosting issue on Saturday so I consulted YELP on Sunday, reviewed feedback and called All Appliance Experts -- and am SO HAPPY that I did! Mike's wife answered and was extremely helpful - she cheerfully took a message to relay to Mike (who had been on service calls all day) and sure enough, he called me back within a few hours. We scheduled a Monday appointment and he arrived on time with everything needed. He was extremely professional and courteous. After "charging" the coolant (3 TIMES!), he concluded that we did in fact have a hole (if not multiple holes) in the coolant line. He treated me with the utmost respect and was completely willing to teach me "all things freezer." I gladly paid the service fees and was grateful for the time spent. While we ultimately came to conclusion that the freezer was indeed unsalvageable and in need of replacement, I will gladly pass his information on to everyone with my highest recommendation! He came same day, which is definite plus. In short, Mike fixed it. No condition, no excuses. It's apparent from the quality of his work that he is highly skilled with a deep level of experience in appliance repair. It was the way he did it however that merits this rating and review. Mia on the phone was friendly, and strongly advised I have Mike take a look. I said OK, Mike inspected, determined the problem was food stupidly (not his word) positioned, not allowing the door to fully close. He could have sold us unnecessary work -- how would we know? -- but didn't. Gasket is fine, problem is now fixed, and it cost only the $30 service call. Mike is EXCELLENT. I found Mike a couple of years ago and used him several time. He has always been straight forward and honest. Unlike other repairmen who try to find the easiest solution and replace everything Mike will take your appliance apart and repair a small item always find the cheapest solution. My last experience I was told to replace the freezer door because the wire harness was cut. The estimate was $750. Mike came and soldered the wires together and rebuilt the harness and charged $50. I cannot recommend him enough and there are not enough stars to express what a great service he provides. read more

A+ experience. Our 2 year-old Kenmore refrigerator was gradually getting warmer, so we hit Yelp to find a good repairman. Based on the existing great recommendations, we called Mike at All Appliance Experts. Mike checked his schedule and was able to come and diagnose the problem that day (auto defrost was on the fritz). It took him all of five minutes to determine what was wrong. He ordered the part (replacement circuit board), and it arrived ahead of schedule. He even came out on a Sunday to complete the repair! The labor and replacement board were reasonably priced, and the entire experience was MUCH faster and MUCH friendlier than what I have come to expect from Sears. None of this "we'll be there between 8 and 12," followed by a no-show, followed by a lengthy replacement period. Mike is extremely professional, friendly, flexible, and doesn't exude that creepy vibe that you get from big box repairman. Also---even though it was 6 p.m. on a Sunday, we asked Mike if he could take a quick look at our dryer, which had been "squeaking." Mike had a replacement bearing in his truck, and took the time to fix the dryer on the spot, even though it was freezing cold in our garage and anyone would rather be at home. In short, the entire experience was 100% positive. I can't contemplate ever calling a big box store again for a repair job. I wrote a review on 7/25/2012 and came back to write another. I had another appliance issue that required the expertise of All Appliance Experts and I think another encounter deserves another review. I'm happy to report the second experience was just as good as the first. They are friendly, know their stuff, and do what it takes to get the job done. All of that at a fair and reasonable price (as reasonable as appliance companies allow these days with their overpriced components anyway)! Mike knew right away what was wrong with my washing machine and sure enough, I haven't had any issues with it since.
