I wrote a review on 7/25/2012 and came back to write another. I had another appliance issue that required the expertise of All Appliance Experts and I think another encounter deserves another review. I'm happy to report the second experience was just as good as the first. They are friendly, know their stuff, and do what it takes to get the job done. All of that at a fair and reasonable price (as reasonable as appliance companies allow these days with their overpriced components anyway)! Mike knew right away what was wrong with my washing machine and sure enough, I haven't had any issues with it since. He goes out of his way to make sure customers are happy and that's all it takes in my book to recommend him to people. Mia and Mike are quite the power-couple. Mia was very professional and friendly when scheduling and worked extra hard for us after she heard about our bad experience with another repair company for the same issue. They're in UTC but came after hours to Eastlake to first diagnose the problem with our refrigerator, and then again a few days later to replace the part. Mike is very knowledgable, professional and efficient. Glad our fridge is working again, just wish I would have gone with them in the first place. read more

Minor fix needed and he handled it quickly and at a very reasonable rate, cleaning up after the bungling job I had done in pulling the thing out of the wall. "As good as it gets!" would be the best words to describe the works of Mike and Mia at All Appliance Experts. I have a Samsung refrigerator (roughly 3 years old) that was simply not cooling and I referred to Yelp for a good appliance repair person. Lo and behold, All Appliance Experts came out number 1, even in the Poway area (they are located in La Jolla). I talked to Mia regarding my problem, and she basically helped me every step of the way. The customer service was nothing short of excellent. She keeps constant communication with Mike so I get excellent advice whenever he is available. I had some suspicions that the refrigerator was suffering from a leak somewhere. The refrigerator came with a warranty, but I wanted to confirm that the fix was covered under the sealed system, or else I would be spending upwards of $800. After all the communication, I finally had Mike come over to do a preliminary inspection. He was very timely and helpful, and advised me that there was a leak in the sealed system. Of course, the 5-year warranty would cover the leak. Long story short, Mike and Mia have been extremely helpful, and I would like to thank them for all that they have done. The service fee is very reasonable ($30), compared to some others who charge ($70+) just for walking in the door. He is a very busy guy, but is willing to work with you. All Appliance Experts deserves my 5 Star Rating for such a wonderful experience and the 4.5/5 star overall rating. In the end, I would highly recommend AAE to anybody that needs repair of a refrigerator or other appliance. read more

Couldn't be more impressed! Mike went above and beyond to accommodate my work schedule, making his first visit to my house well after the time most people have had dinner and are getting ready to call it a night. He very quickly diagnosed the problem with my dishwasher. He had to order a part and said he would probably get it in a couple of days. Since this was a Thursday night, I didn't expect to hear from him again until the following week. Imagine my surprise when he calls me on Sunday morning saying he has the part and can be at my house in 10 minutes if I'm available. We had a grease fire in the same oven last night. I called Mike thinking it was another wire that caught on fire. When I found out what it was I felt stupid. Mike didn't even charge me one penny for the visit.. Not many businesses would tell you that their time is free, or at least I've never came across one. I'm seriously questioning how useful Yelp is right about now. I think in the future I'm going to read the 2-3 star reviews and give them much more credence than a whole raft of 5-star reviews. People can feel pressured to post a great review. I had a repair done and I think it cost about what any much larger, better organized repair service would charge, maybe slightly less. I googled on the part they installed and found that it was marked-up by about 30%-50%, depending on the source. That seems high to me, but maybe it is typical. I don't know. The repair itself didn't take much time to make. Scheduling was a nightmare, however. I think that getting excellent Yelp reviews has probably increased their business and they're a victim of their own success. Maybe the owners should think about taking some of the criticisms to heart and try to figure out how to improve. From my own experience, they're not unwarranted. I am giving 3-stars because my problem was fixed but if I could break it down further I'd probably do something like this: Customer service: 1-star Price: 2-3 stars -- I suspect it wasn't all that awesome Results: 5 stars (problem is fixed) read more

No more camping in with paper plates or plastic cups or hand washing the dishes! Mike was able to repair our washer and save us some $$$. He actually even offered to give me a refund if he couldnt repair it but he tried and tried until he was able to fix the problem. Wow, right after he fixed the dishwasher, water spewed everywhere and I called Mike back. There was a leak in the hose bc they use plastic instead of rubber. Mike arrived on time which isn't too common if you have dealt with a appliance repair person. He quickly diagnosed the problem and promptly replaced the bad sensor on our dryer all at a very fair price. If we have any future appliance issues, we will be calling Mike again. read more

Came out on a SUNDAY (of all things) to assist my tenant's needs....best of all is MIA, cheerful and BIG FUN!

I made a call to have my dryer fixed. Mike was in the area and was at my door in about an hour. He looked at it and within 30 seconds could see that the door sensor was broken, went to the truck, had the part and was fixed in 20 minutes. 1/3 the cost of a new dryer and not even one load hauled to the laundromat. I just had the most incredible experience with All Appliance Experts. I had called another firm 2 days ago to fix a dishwasher that was not draining at a rental property of mine. I left a message, they never called back. After calling All Appliance Experts, a friendly woman talked me thru the problem and it turned out I completely forgot to knock out the water return plug before connecting the hose. OF COURSE it won't drain water, it has no where to drain!!! She also suggested running a cleaner through the system that I can find at a local appliance repair shop and to continue to do so every 6 months to keep it running well. She said, "I don't want to send someone out there and charge you for something as simple as that. Hope you have a great day!" THIS is customer service. While I don't need to hire them today, they just bought themselves a customer for life. I feel confident any other company would have smiled in their head, sent a guy out knowing the simple issue, and handed me a $200+ bill for it. They are amazing =) read more

Unprofessional, unresponsive company. Filed a claim with Old Republic Home Warranty because our washer would not drain, resulting in stagnant water that we could not get to. Old Republic assigned us to All Appliance Experts. We didn't hear back after two days, so we called to set up an appointment. No response. Old Republic called several times - no reply. We wasted nearly a week on these people. Why stay in the Old Republic network, if you're not going to respond to service call requests? read more

Called these people to look at a refrigerator and got an appointment from 4-6pm on Friday. 6:30pm rolls around (no calls, nothing), phoned them and they claim they only "would try" to come by between 4-6pm. The excellent reviews on Yelp are well deserved. Excellent customer service and very knowledgable. What we thought was a leaky dishwasher was really a busted garbage disposal. Spoke with Mia Sunday afternoon, they fit us into their busy Monday schedule. My husband worked with Mia to troubleshoot over the phone. My husband bought the part, and Mike came over and replaced our garbage disposal no problem. He also checked our dishwasher to make sure it didn't have a separate problem. Their prices are reasonable. If we have any other issues, we'll definitely call them. Great genuine customer service is hard to find these days. read more

I have never met these folks, but I love them. I needed my LG dryer fixed and had called another appliance service. The very nice man was unable to fix my dryer because LG would not sell him the parts. So, back to Yelp I went to find someone else. After reading the reviews, I called and spoke with Mia. I love Mia. She diagnosed my dryer problem over the phone and it worked! She said that 90% of the time it is the vent and she was right. Her comment of not wanting to have to charge me a service fee if it could be fixed over the phone was incredible. She saved me money, was pleasant, helpful and concerned. Excellent. Mike came out and looked at our washer/dryer and gave me an honest estimate of between $150 and about $600 bucks - it's a stackable so he couldn't know until he pulled it down. When he did if he'd wanted to he could have said it needed the $600 job and I would have been none the wiser, but he's obviously honest and did a great job fixing whatever was broken for the lowest possible estimate. I am a rental property owner, an architect and a general contractor. I have been using Mike services and his team (All Appliance Experts) for the past 20 years and I had NEVER had an appliance he could not fix! First of all you are dealing with real professionals that had the training, the expertise, and many years in the trenches, to be able to fix practically any appliance in any configuration & not only national brands but also exotic international brands. How many people do you know that can say : 'yes, I can fix it' and if not why not, to ANY brand? I have learned that Mike had a background in electro-mechanical engineering, and that probably explains why he can diagnose and assess correctly what is it in your appliance that does not work. the fact that he understands the principle of how and why things work, is an extremely valuable asset ; I have seen Mike take impossible repairs and make them work, even appliances that where already discontinued, saving me a lot of headaches in the process; But also I have seen him explain to me the reason why it was not in my best interest to fix some components, because I would loose money in doing so, even though it was not in his own best interest.
