I had a set of tires shipped to this business from the Tire Rack. They were listed as preferred installers. When I had confirmation the tires arrived, I contacted AGA to arrange for installation. It was on a Friday and I assumed I would have to wait until the following week. With Monday being a holiday, I figured I wouldn't have tires until Tuesday. Since one of my tires was flat, that meant I wouldn't be able to use the vehicle for several days. Not so! I spoke with service advisor Noel who said he would squeeze me in and have it done in several hours. Sure enough, by 5:00 pm, I had 4 new tires on the car and a wash! Exceptional customer service, and they did a great job on the mounting and balancing. Since I have a MIni and a Porsche, I told them they have a new customer, essentially earning my business for doing such a great job on such a small invoice. read more

So I brought in our Porsche 996 because of strange noises from the suspension. I have a Bilstein PSS10 suspension. Bilstein says lifetime warranty but they make you remove the struts and send them in to their shop to inspect them. This takes weeks and weeks and weeks. What shop can leave a car on a rack for that long? All German could and did. The car also had a weep of oil from one side that turned into a minor leak, we fixed that. Then when they test drove the car the a/c clutch seized and that was replaced. So finally I get the car back and OMG this car runs better than a dream. The car is cleaned like a detailer did it and the car screams (Milltek exhaust helps that.) Incredible car. All German makes it happen. If only La Jolla Audio could make their custom stereo sound as good as the car !?! read more

My husband was researching used 911's to find the perfect one to present to me for our 20th anniversary. Yah, good man! I highly recommend this place. It may be a little pricey but that's because the work they do lasts and it is done correctly the first time. I have a 2003 330i, I've had my car worked on a couple times here, Troy usually helps me, nicest guy ever. I was even a little worried about a ticking sound in my car before I went on a road trip and they checked it out for me and made sure I didn't have any damaging service engine lights on and showed me where the rattling was coming from because it was easy to see, and they were so nice about it. I have taken my son's BMW at AGA for several years now when it requires maintenance, even when the car was brought to San Francisco. For major service it is worth the drive to Escondido to have the car serviced at AGA. Troy and the staff are great! AGA mechanics continue to attend training in order for them to be well versed of what they do. Troy is pretty knowledgeable I should say the subject matter expert when it comes to car repair. Before they actually remove or replace anything on your car, Troy ensures you are aware of the problems and cost of the repair. Have never met a more trustworthy or honest mechanic that will give you advice to fix only what is required or critical. Troy was prompt in his words and provided update/follow-ups, and was completely transparent as to their reasoning for recommended services. He went above and beyond to make sure my needs were taken care of knowing the car will be driven cross country. I've been going to All German Auto since 2010 on recommendation from my mother since 1995 for our BMWs. I had never heard of them and I was tired of the crazy prices at the BMW service dept. When I call for an oil change, I can get my car in the very next day (yup, I'm a last minute busy business person). Subaru books their oil changes 3 weeks out ... very inconvenient. When problems arise, they are very conscientious about working the part prices down (I always check), they immediately address the issues and I have never had to bring my car back for continued issues. They have little staff turnaround so they all know me and my unique requirements. Continuity and knowledgeable staff is great. Rick makes sure I have a ride to/from my office or a car rental if needed, keeps me updated on when the car will be ready and takes the time to answer my questions professionally. If I have to hang out for a while for a quick fix, their lobby area is comfortable, clean and well stocked with drinks. I highly recommend All German Auto. read more

Took my car there for an oil change. I was told it would take just over an hour and 3 1/2 hours later, I was asked if I wanted a complimentary car wash. That was a mistake because my car was returned with a 4" piece of paint missing in the door panel. (The car was pre-owned and purchased with a dime size blemish). Guess they thought I wouldn't notice but when I questioned them I was told it came off during the power washing of the car. A photo was taken and they would get a quote from an auto body place they use. I called weekly and after three weeks I was told to bring the car by for a physical inspection. Basically I was told that the car must have had prior work done and the prep work prior to painting the door, wasn't done well. I have washed myself plus drove through a car wash and no problems. Now I'm looking at another $1500 to repair a car taken in for a simple oil change. The rating is based on lack of follow through and no accountability for damage. read more

Horrible Quality Control! Below is an email that I sent to the owner. I honestly didn't think I would write this review however, I continue to have issues in areas where AGA performed maintenance. ****Please note - The owner did respond by phone and offered to 'fix' this issues I am having, by returning the car back to his shop. He also sent a $100.00 check by mail to refund the money spent to install the (mentioned below) sensor, but honestly - I spent over 5k in maintenance and was charged an hourly rate of 120.00 mechanical time.....I expect THE BEST and a check for $100.00 isn't going to make up for all of the mistakes made. I have never been so unhappy with service in my life and I advised him that I would never let his company touch my vehicles. EVER**** "Good morning Sir, I am submitting this email to you to advise the level of unsatisfactory work I have recently received by All German Auto. I have spent over 5k dollars at AGA for maintenance on my 2002 M5 recently and I continue to find mistakes (or issues) due to improper maintenance and/or negligence. I want to advise you in advance that I am writing this email ONLY to inform you, I am not looking for any reimbursements. I honestly believe that it is important to you as a business owner, that you receive honest reviews based on your services. Mr. Steve has been excellent and I do not blame him for any of the following faults however, I do believe that some of the issues noted could have been prevented if a proper inspection were conducted, prior to vehicle delivery/pick-up. Listed below are the issues noted and have since been fixed though myself/Mr. Steve: -Oil over serviced: Oil was over-serviced by an entire quart. -Leaky valve cover gaskets: Fixed/replaced. - Incorrect hardware installed: Valve cover gasket hardware was found when I took off my bumper cover to replace the DINAN cold-air intake filters. I then noticed incorrect hardware was installed on the valve cover, taking note of the incorrect length due to the amount of washers needed to be installed. - Broken 'stud' on intake manifold: I took action to replace my collapsed oil separators and hoses. Upon taking off the upper intake Plenum, I noticed a broken stud that secures the 'horn' (or 'velocity stack') to the intake manifold, leaving the 'horn' only secured by one nut, possibly causing a slight intake leak. These obviously had to be taken off/installed due to the previous replacement of valve cover gaskets. Though I am not sure if this 'stud' was broken previously or by AGA, but it puzzles me that your mechanics DID NOT advise his service writer of replacement of part(s) considering the obvious possible intake leak and furthermore, the owner is spending over 5k dollars in maintenance and this 'stud' is a 10.00 dollar part??????? -Evaporation purge valve: I brought my vehicle back to AGA to re-fix the valve cover gaskets that were continuing to leak. I also asked Mr. Steve to replace the Evap purge valve due to it causing a Service Engine Soon light (diagnosed via PEAKE Reader). I picked up my vehicle and within driving two miles, my Service Engine Soon light illuminated. I drove it around for two weeks and it never went away. So, yesterday, I decided not to contact AGA and take matters into my own hands and investigate what was causing the light. So, after taking off the upper Intake Plenum, all eight intake 'horns', and removing the lower Intake Plenum, I discovered it was NOT even plugged in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is UNSAT!!! I spent half a day fixing AGA's work and now I'm out of 100.00+ dollars spent on mechanical time for installation of this valve. Attached is the picture of the valve disconnected and untouched. -Wheel shudder while breaking: had the rotors/pads replaced and vehicle shudders while breaking at all speeds. I have not advised Mr. Steve of this, I plan to source another BMW specialty shop. I do not plan write any bad online reviews, but I will promise to NEVER let AGA touch my vehicle again, and I will NEVER refer your business to anyone in the future. I was initially excited to find a 'reputable' shop in San Diego (based on your reviews via M5Board.com, I'm an active member...) but now I honestly wish that I never found your company. Thank you for helping me out with my wheel situation (I believe you are getting your money back via craigslist) and I honestly hope this email helps by providing some insight on these quality control issues, that need tightening up." read more

Meh...very busy shop. Service people are overwhelmed and they tend to be condescending. Car sat untouched for a whole day without being looked at despite having an appointment. They'll give you a ride home in a filthy MB SUV. Lacks same level of customer service as the dealership. Prices on par or slightly lower than dealership. Can't complain about that. I usually leave car maintenance appointments for my husband to handle since I've heard stories about some places taking advantage of people (usually women) who aren't as mechanically inclined. But on Veterans Day, I had promised to take my kiddo to Legoland, hubby had to work, and I had gotten the top off coolant message on my GL the day before. All German Auto was recommended by my car enthusiast friend who's in a BMW club. It was on the way so I called first thing in the morning - before their posted business hours. I talked to Fred who was very polite and friendly. He said to just come in and he would check it out. And as long as there wasn't a leak, it would take about 10 minutes. I didn't need an appointment. The lobby/showroom looked like a high end car dealership. Fred was paged and came out to meet me. I mentioned that I'd been getting a message about correcting the tire pressure also. It seemed like less than 10 minutes later my car was topped off and tires checked (turned out the sensors were being squirrelly because of the cold weather). As he handed back my keys, I asked him what I owed and he said, "Nothing." I was shocked! Who does anything for free these days?? They've earned our business for sure on future scheduled services! All German Auto is amazing! This is the second time I've taken my X5 in and Troy is wonderful to work with! The first time years ago, he ran the codes and saw that my issue was covered under warranty so he drove my car to the dealership to fix and didn't charge me anything! This time my car issue was a little harder to diagnose but they spent a considerable amount of time on my car, even calling a mechanic in over the weekend to look at it. While my car was at AGA, they paid for a rental for me. The Enterprise folks said they work with AGA a ton and I was able to get an SUV, not just the lowest base model clunker like other mechanics I've worked with provide. Eventually Troy did end up reaching out to his dealership contact and when he formally turned my car over to BMW, he arranged for them to give me a loaner and AGA only charged me a nominal fee for their time. He told me he asked BMW to see if they could "goodwill" any part of the repairs and we just found out BMW is covering everything! Awesome!! AGA is definitely my new go-to now! read more

They had great service from beginning to the end. They offered me the free (worth $135) inspection for my newly used purchased BMW which I got 2 months ago. They changed my oil, replaced my break lights, did the inspection and told me everything that was wrong with the vehicle. They also gave me a ride to Target so I can shop for 2 hours and then picked me up when they were done with everything..... all for a whopping $99.34 which included tax! Greg and their whole team gave nothing but great service and didn't try to overcharge me on my oil change, which was with real BMW oil and not Castrol oil like BMW Escondido said they would use and charge me $320.00. Been going here for about 15 years. Serviced about 6 cars there, and bought 2. The last car purchased had 4 cracked wheels, and needed about $5,000 in repairs within 3,000 miles of buying it from AGA. I also discovered after the sale that it had rear end paint work so it may have been in an accident. They wouldnt help on the repairs, and charged me about the same as what the dealer charges. I guess "dealership alternative" does not necessarily mean less expensive. A bit shocked that they would not stand behind the sale of one of their expensive cars. read more

Martin is a true professional and went above and beyond to help me get my car back up and running properly. I have never used AGA for services before but, after seeing all of the great videos on YouTube and their webpage, I felt it would be a great place to get my BMW's issues addressed. Martin took the time to listen to the problems I had and then provided solutions while describing in detail what needed to be fixed.
