Ambiance: it's a cozy vegan and vegetarian restaurant located near freeway, small private lot although there's bunch of street parking spots nearby, spacious dining inside and outdoor patio Service: friendly but so slow and forgetful, had to remind them a couple of times for things they missed, and by the end the entire table was never served ice water. It wasn't too busy at that time, and they just seem understaffed and disorganized. Food & Drink: numerous items for breakfast and brunch, vegan and vegetarian options available PERFECTO PESTO PIZZA - ** walnut pesto, cremini mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, cashew cheese, garlic pecan cheese, the pizza tasted so dry and old, order suggested by the server, not a very good does The Vegetarian Breakfast Sandwich - *** sourdough bread, eggs, American cheese, tomato, avocado and mayonnaise, average taste Onion Rings - **** crispy and tasty, recommend House Drip Coffee - ** light taste Price: small to moderate portions, and overpriced for its quality, expect $30+ per person

(11/11) SunCafe Organic is truly next-level. I've tried their lasagna, pasta, pizza, burritos, and mac -- and every single dish has been outstanding. The flavors are rich, comforting, and unforgettable. This is the kind of food I find myself craving monthly, maybe even daily. They hit all the marks: quality ingredients, fair price for what you get, warm service, and a great location. If I had to pick something to eat every day for the rest of my life, SunCafe would definitely be on the shortlist. I'm not vegan but still one of the best meals I've had ! Great ambience too small parking lot though

Such a cool casual vibe in this place! Nice outside patio with trees and a couple of booths inside and table. Amazing amount of choices on the menu. Totally vegan. Friendly server. I've been for dinner and for lunch. Small parking lot in front. I will return to SunCafe!

Everything we have had at SunCafe has been soooooo flavorful! From nachos, to smoothies, to benny- all have been excellent. The service can be a bit hit or miss, sometimes it's a bit slow when it's not even busy. And both times we have dined here, they play explicit hip/hop or rap, which is not the most chill to dine to, especially during brunch. My biggest regret about SunCafe, though, is that they started to serve fish and dairy. I understand this may open them up to more business? But for those of us that love a non-contaminated kitchen, the business decision to add animal products to the menu (and therefore in the kitchen) is a bummer.

The coffee date shake that I had was really amazing!! They have fun outdoorsy seating either lots of shade for hot summers. Although the food wasn't that flavourful, it was a really well prepared. We had to leave early to get to an appointment so they even accommodated in changing our order to take out! Would definitely have to try dining to see the real taste of the dishes next time!

VEGAN !!!!!! As usual, I forgot to take a picture before I started eating. As you can see, I was greedy. None of this kind of food is near me so I always get Extra to bring home.

So sad to see this close... they had the most delicious shake with no sugar Too bad not enough people supported it. Every time I was there it wasn't enough people. I'll miss this place for sure.

Do yourself a favor a try the tempeh Reuben - it is not only beautifully presented it is absolutely delicious. I came with 2 friends but it would also be a great place for a romantic date. So many interesting options to choose from it was hard to pick just one!

Great Place for outdoor dining! Dog friendly too! Lovely peaceful outdoor patio where you can really relax and enjoy your meal with your furry friends! The menu is wonderful with vegan and vegetarian brunch options. I ordered my favorite entree (enough food to split half for lunch half for dinner, who wants to cook on a Saturday) "Mushroom Bordeliase" delicious as always! My friend ordered the more traditional "Sun Breakfast Plate with the French Toast and Bacon" he is picky and gave everything rave reviews! The staff as always is charming and accommodating and even the pups behaved! Definitely a favorite spot anytime you want a delicious meal!

Fun decor and great patio for dining when it isn't raining! We stopped for brunch Sunday. Last time I was here I had the savory breakfast burrito which I enjoyed. This time I went for the French Toast with berries, bananas, and walnuts. It was great! Big portion I couldn't finish. My latte was hot and flavorful. My son and his husband had a breakfast plate with tons of modifications and the server just smiled and said , "No problem". She was attentive and helpful. We'll be back!

Sunday brunch at SunCafe was fantastic! We had the breakfast panini, breakfast English muffin sandwich, Mac and cheese and a cupcake. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious, we ate every bite. I would recommend to anyone - vegan or not. The mac and cheese was delicious - we were sad we ordered a small and not a large. I'd pass on the cupcake. It's not really a cupcake. It's a dense thick dry bread with a sweet frosting. Not good at all. The patio is great and has quite a bit of seating. Service was great. I'll be back for sure and definitely recommend!

It's overpriced as heck. The place is super cute though. The staff is nice but they will forget about you repeatedly. If you say "yeah I need another five minutes to look at the menu" they will give you 30. I paid 18 dollars for avocado toast. Now that's on me. That said, it was decent. I wish you got a little more. I wish the bread was a little thicker. I think you can get a way better avocado toast for a better price at black heart coffee. Speaking of coffee, the coffee here is pretty mid. Probably use the same cheap syrups they use everywhere. That's fine though this is a restaurant and not a coffee shop. I would never choose to go here but I don't mind when I end up here. I should try more things on the menu as I don't feel qualified to give an opinion but for now I'll give it four stars. :) if you have a restrictive diet, this is the place for you!

Great place for brunch! Lots of savory and sweet options for everyone and we enjoyed what we ordered. I loved the chicken and waffles and my mom enjoyed her skillet. The ambiance was cute with lots of indoor and outdoor options. We sat in a small private room that looked out into the patio. Service was okay- they didn't have enough water glasses for our table which wasn't ideal and it took a while for us to pay our bill. They were super busy and I would definitely come back and try Sun Cafe again to see if service is better.

I am looking for a vegetarian friendly restaurant to host a weeknight (Tuesday evening) book club meeting. Is this place a good choice for that?

They have vegan and vegetarian options on the menu but they are no longer a vegan restaurant, just to clarify.

    Is the food alkaline?

They have food choices that are alkaline but they also have non-alkaline food. Vegan restaurants don't serve meat , dairy, and eggs which are non-alkaline but most do serve starches, grains, and sugars which are also non-alkaline. Most nuts are also…

Can people with nut allergies eat here?

Absolutely. Just look at the menu and customize if you need to.

Are there still any cooking classes available on weekends?

No, it is under new ownership. I don't believe they are vegan.

What are the gluten free items made of, for example in the gf pizza crust? I can eat neither corn nor wheat. Not a severe allergy (cross contamination is not an issue), but a bad GI intolerance.

Most of our GF bread products are rice based: pizza crust, ciabata, brioche

Hey SunCafe, has your mask policy changed? Are your cooks/staff wearing masks and are you still on the honor system?

Staff is definite still wearing a mask/ face shields and everything is being sanitized for your safety. :)

Reservations available? Not on open table.

We are not taking reservations at this point, and most times you we don't have a wait. Currently, under the Covid restrictions, we are only allowed to serve a maximum of 6 family members at a single table.

Do you guys do anything special when it's someone's birthday?

Hi Cindy, We provide a free cupcake for birthdays.…

What is the corkage fee? We are coming back for dinner tomorrow and thought we'd bring our own wine. Thank you!

    $10.

    What is the dress code?

Totally casual. It can feel a little chilly if you sit out front.

    Is this restaurant soy-free also?

I would think it depends on the specific dish - for example anything labeled tempeh or tofu is obvi soy derived. I am curious now about the "cheese". ! I will be there next week and will ask about Soy for cheese recipes, Pet Friendly status, and…

    What is the corkage fee?

    $10 corkage fee

Has anyone tried the cooking class? Do you get to cook anything or just observe? Is it a meal or just small samples?

Hi Sara, It is a demonstration class not participatory. It's a sampling of the dishes not a full…

Are they open Monday XMAS Eve? If so what hours?

I would give them a call they probably close early that night but it's not posted on their site currently

Can someone tell me what's in the Sweet Kale Smoothie? I've made plenty of smoothies nothing even came close to how delicious this one taste. It can't be nondairy can it?

    It is non-dairy.

    Pet friendly patio?

    From what I saw, yes!

Is the brunch menu always available or just on sundays?

Only during the weekend. Saturday and Sunday. I think until 4pm. Very delicious food.

Those nachos can't possibly be vegan? And if it was? It couldn't possibly taste good? Could it?

Yes everything there is vegan and it's taste amazing. I would say that it's bette then normal cheeses and it has more flavor. The cheese is made of cashews. It's always a great item to have when you are there. Also you must have their shakes. It's a…

    Are they open on Sunday?

Meeting friends for lunch, we are limited due to some dietary restrictions of a friend. I stumbled across this place on my quest to find something new and was initially intrigued by the restaurant name. After looking through the menu and seeing a massive amount of options in various types of dishes, I was sold. When I told my friend about this place, she said it was one of her favorites. Choosing from the massive menu was the hardest part. Of course, we ordered way to much and had leftovers for days. Every dish was amazing! I see why it's one of her favorite places. Not only was food delicious, but service was top notch. It's a smallish restaurant with a nice ambiance. They have lunch hours, then close for a bit before reopening for dinner.

Everything here is amazing and there's always the opportunity to adjust the spice level for each menu item. One of my go-to dishes is the beefless garlic. The "meat" is seasoned appropriately and reminds me of quality beef jerky. The char on it is just enough and the garlic and black pepper sauce is a great complement for the dish. The sauce is just enough to give the dish a nice glaze and it's not overpowered with garlic flavor. Customer service is always exceptional and they're always extremely friendly plus welcoming. It is a smaller restaurant with around fifteen tables, and on weekend nights it can be quite a lively atmosphere but it's never too loud. I appreciate the plants they have on the walls and around the restaurant to give it a nice atmosphere. A must-visit for any vegan/vegetarian in the SFV, but carnivores who appreciate quality Thai food will enjoy this as well.

That being said, We were in NoHo, and saw "The Vegan & More" in Studio City, so we made a detour, and decided to give this establishment a try. The address for this place is simple, however, when you look for the marquee that reads "The Vegan & More" you don't see it. What you do see is at the same address (and they happen to have a Yelp Page for that restaurant too BTW) is the Jumpin Java Kitchen, which has been there since 1995! As you can see from the photos, this place that first attracted us to come, is not a full blown restaurant, nor a pop-up (that we also passed on this a.m.) but a page from the menu from another restaurant. To me, this is what one would call BAIT AND SWITCH. Now let's get on to what was ordered.. My wife ordered the Vegan Egg Scramble.. and mind you, the photo that they showcase both on Yelp and Google, is FAR FROM what they served. The key to this dish is the vegan egg... not the veggies... .and you can see from our posted photos, from this a.m. there's barely anything there... which is why my wife didn't eat it. Now there are a few things that really bug me here... 1. The Vegan & More should not have a page on Yelp,a and Yes, I am going to complain, as when we arrived at the address, there's absolutely NOTHING there to say we were in the right place, other than the address. Also when we asked the server, he confirmed they have Vegan Options.. Not once was the name "Vegan & More" mentioned! 2. Portions, what you advertise from your photos, IS NOT what you serve. Forget about the overabundant of "home potatoes" that costs you nothing, but the very key of the meal, for a vegan to eat, you barely put anything on... yet while your photos show otherwise... 3. When the server asked if we wanted a box, and we refused, you would think the owner would be notified that the meal hasn't be touched... but no.. nothing. We got the check, paid WAY TOO MUCH for barely anything... Did I eat, yes, was it good, it was ok... but that's not why we were here... A new Vegan Restaurant in Studio City is what brought us here... However, FULL TRANSPARENCY is needed! Don't say one thing, and be something else... not even a mention to rebranding, nothing... The California Hamburger was also solid and came loaded with guacamole and fresh toppings, but the asada tacos completely stole the show. The soy asada was packed with flavor, and once I added their house salsa, I was officially addicted. I also tried the Special Pizza. I am not usually a pizza person, but I completely understand why this one is so popular. It was loaded with toppings, had a good crust and tasted even better with a little extra spice. Meals are rather affordable here and come in big portions, so you'll leave filling full. The pad thai tasted decent yet a little different from what I had at other restaurants. It was missing the amount of savoriness I was familiar with. However, it did have the sweetness that I've usually tried in pad thai from other restaurants. The soy meat did have a similar texture to that of traditional chicken, but it left an aftertaste that I didn't really like. The soy chicken had the same mostly sweet flavor as the noodles. It was even better putting lime on the noodles, and the vegetables helped in adding good flavor. As an appetizer, the fried tofu tasted good with the sweet and sour sauce. I was able to finish the whole appetizer before I got my noodles. The ambience was quiet as I was the first customer, but it gradually got louder as more people arrived. There was a mosquito that bit me, so that wasn't fun. Looking back, it's ironic that this happened inside a vegan restaurant. That aside, I was regularly checked in on by the staff and had my water refilled. Service is definitely a strength here, and it was nice seeing locals talk with the staff.
