I booked a move with them for about a month away and then had to cancel due to an unexpected circumstance and thank god. After booking with them, I never received a confirmation of any kind. And when I tried to call the Chicago number, I was on a perpetual hold and never spoke to an actual person. The only way I was able to get ahold of anyone was to submit a request for another quote on their website. I then received a call within seconds. Even then, it was a general office and they couldn't process the cancellation or get ahold of someone from the Chicago branch. It took 3 more phone calls before I could finally get on the phone with someone who could process my request because someone was kind enough to give me the national office number and within 5 minutes, I was able to cancel my move. (Shoutout to Chris and the number for the national office is 469-461-5000) I can't imagine what it would have been like if I actually needed to go through the steps of moving when their customer service was this bad and they are so hard to reach. USELESS LIARS! AVOID! I have moved state six times and this 1.5 mile move was the WORST EVER. I booked a 4 bedroom house full pack and move. I gave a detailed inventory to two different employees. I stressed the amount of furniture and put all books, CDs and other non fragile items in boxes BEFORE the move day. Their estimator quoted, as per their website, 4 men, 1 truck, less than 7 hours total. It took 2 days, 3 truck loads and on first day they asked if we could pack more stuff ourselves to help! What happened to full pack? On the second day, no one seemed interested and TWICE I was told that house was empty. On checking I found multiple items lying around, mirr still on walls and every time I unpack another box I find something broken. I was originally quoted $1100 for the packing and the moving, which was an estimate so I didn't expect it to be exact, but I was charged $2496.19. I hired All My Sons for a full pack-and-move service after receiving an estimate of approximately $1,100. Despite accurately describing the contents of my home and decluttering extensively beforehand, my final bill was $2,496.19. After working with management, they acknowledged that the packing and overall service fell short of their standards and issued a partial refund. I appreciated their professionalism throughout the complaint process, but even after the refund, the final cost remained more than 70% above the original estimate. The movers themselves were polite, but the packing was disorganized. Not a single box was labelled, it took me 2.5 days to find my drinking glasses as they were in the bottom of a large box with misc. items, fragile items were packed inconsistently, and items I had clearly separated for different destinations were mixed together, creating additional work after the move. Worst experience ever...please don't use them. I had so many issues I really don't know where to start. I had a cross country move and I understand they can be complex so I was expecting some challenges but this was massive issues throughout the move. We did our initial estimate through facetime with the estimator and he sent the quote including packing services. We over estimated what we would be bringing and he said we would fill up 3/4 of the truck but because it was cross country, we would have access to the entire truck. We did our initial estimate 3 months ahead of our move and throughout those 3 months we sold a decent amount of our belongings and also did some packing ourselves. I kept asking the original estimator if he wanted to send someone to do an onsite meeting to make sure we were good and he insisted he estimated correctly. When the day of the move came, they brought one 26' box truck and couldn't fit all of our belongings in the truck. They also said they had no other trucks available and there was nothing they could do. I had one day to get out of the house we had sold so I had to call another moving company for a rush cross country move which obviously was very expensive. After this, I filed a negative review and corporate called me and offered me a slight refund for the inconvenience. I felt it was fair and accepted. We had a move in date scheduled for our things which was saturday at 8am. 8am came and went, I kept calling for updates which I was told the crew was on their way...only to find out later that they had been over weight and had to unpack a good amount of our things before actually driving. No one told us this until later Saturday night so we were waiting around with a group of friends to help unload our things. They should have just told us they wouldn't be able to deliver that day. They ended up rescheduling for Sunday...Sunday was again supposed to start early but didn't start until middle of the afternoon and they send 2 people to move most of our house in. They didn't put any floor runners in or any padding on the doors and they initially started taking hand carts up wood floors which led to damages of the flooring. We asked them to take boxes upstairs by hand and they agreed. Next came the damage to our things...we paid for packing services and nothing was packed appropriately. My Jura espresso maker was packed on the bottom of a wardrobe box with heavy loose pots and pans on top of it, glasses and dishes were packed together without individual wrapping on them, kitchen knives weren't packed with anything, my 86" tv had no bubble wrap, padding or anything covering it besides cardboard and damage was extensive including the TV. It ended up taking 3 different trips to deliver all of our things due to them forgetting things and not remembering what we had. This company is extremely bad and I would recommend anyone to stay away from them. read more

This company is HORRIBLE. Stay away. They offered me a next day move and confirmed arrival between 11am and 1pm. I arrived at the move site at 11am. No movers could be bothered to show up. Nobody could be bothered to call me and tell me that there was a problem with the move. When I called at 130pm and 3pm, I spoke to someone in dispatch, but movers still didn't call and still never showed up. When I called at 5pm to cancel, the dispatch number hung up on me. When I called back, what sounded like a national call center answered and cancelled the appointment, but I how no reason to think they were actually going to show up at that point. If you make the mistake of hiring All My Sons, expect to be upsold on needing more movers and more insurance. I can say that All My Sons was highly efficient in charging my credit card for the $100 deposit, but they were less than useless in every other regard. Tried the ol bait and switch. Promised a professional move with a locked in price. Then decided to try and charge me for an additional truck because their estimator was off by 30%. They refused to move items on the contract because it would put them overweight, but when they finally brought in an extra truck with room to spare they refused to complete the job they put in writing they would do. After a BBB complaint their offer was $500 to shut me up. I had to get a hotel for the night with 2 dogs and all our belongings and still arrange for another guy to rent a truck and go back for the rest of our stuff. We put in a deposit roughly three months prior to our moving date. We received an email confirmation roughly two weeks before the move in addition to us calling to confirm the date as we were between two dates. We had a phone confirmation three days prior to the move. Our children were lined up at the window on moving morning, anxiously waiting for the truck to arrive. They waited and they waited. It didn't come. We called to inquire and were informed that they had tried to reach us yesterday about the possibility of needing more than two men for the crew. We were working the entire day, on top of preparing for the move, and did not see the missed call. We obviously didn't care if it were 2 men or 10, we just needed to be moved. They assured us that we would be the next job and that this in no way affected our moving plans for the day. We continued to wait. After multiple attempts to get an updated ETA, we were continually given a later window before finally being told in the early evening that jobs simply took longer than expected and that the following day, Sunday, was fully booked. That was it. We had 24 hours to be out and literally had to move our entire house by ourselves. We have received no apology, no explanation, despite my attempt to reach out 11 days ago. I am posting below what I sent. I give them until Tuesday (2/18) to get back to us and then it will be official complaint to Better Business Bureau. We will also continually post our negative review as it closes in on a more popular time for picking movers to warn everyone what they can get into with this company! They scammed us. We first emailed the WeCares (Marie Senghore the AMS Company Coordinator told us "just email your isssue there") two weeks ago - me and my husband has separately asked for updates numerous times and silence. We had a quote for 2 movers at $159 an hour. We had a very small one bedroom apartment and was moving to a very close townhome (12 mins from apartment). No big stuff (only a loveseat, recliner, kitchen table, two end tables and boxes already duct taped and lined up against wall) and we wrapped everything proactively. We got a mover and a man on his first or second day - a trainee. The seasoned mover had to help him with everything and try and explain literally every aspect of the job. Not that it normally would matter to us but the trainee also didn't speak English, so couldn't grasp what his trainer was telling him. Just made it more difficult for them to communicate and get job done efficiently. We would have been fine with that if we were given TWO seasoned movers and a trainee and counted it as just two. It took them over six hours and the price skyrocketed to over $1000. If we really had two movers (not a mover and trainee) it easily would have taken half the time. We really got one mover and a lot of extra time due to the second guy not being able to do his part (no fault of his own) and we had to pay for that. We were also charged for a ton of packing tape when most of our things were already duct taped boxes. We were charged for all the extra packing materials (about $100) because the trainee wouldn't wrap it right and they had to use more. The first time we used All My Sons they were quick; didn't charge or use all the extra packing materials and seemed fair. This time (again the actual guys were professional and courteous) we seemed to be unfairly penalized for an incredible amount of extra time needed to help All My Sons train someone. We did not get two movers - we got one and someone who only made the move take a lot longer (which we paid for) because he was super new to the job. Furthermore, when we've emailed or wrote the "wecare" website they provide for a complaint - no response. We just don't think it's fair to pay for 6+ hours for something that should have been half. We know this because they moved us before with more items and farther away and the move took half. At that time, they gave us TWO seasoned movers and a third guy who was also a trainee. What we should have had this time. This was a much smaller move than the first time they moved us. The difference was (in the slowest move season of the year - Jan 31) All My Sons didn't provide us with two movers but only one mover and a man on one of his first days (which we were basically charged for them to train). Previous Review: I think we are owed three hours back and a discount on the absorbent amount of packing tape that was totally unnecessary (not used with our first move with you and was same items and boxed by us the same way). I wouldn't have hired them if I knew how it would end up. they showed up 4 and a half hours late, kept arguing with each other while moving my stuff, and tried to charge us for the equipment that they used without asking for my consent to pay more for the materials. $800 dollars over our estimate, which was already high. They then went to my partners apartment to pick up his stuff since we hired them to move our stuff to the place we moved into. It took them an hour and a half to get to a location that google maps said would take 13 minutes. When they showed up to our new place with our stuff, (at 1am, when we had to work the next morning) they tried to charge us $1,800 for what was estimated at $1,000 for the extra driving hours, and extra materials. The inventory paper clearly said we had 20+ boxes, and we maybe had 35, but we had only asked to specify if we had 20+, which we did, and they charged us an extra couple hundred for it. I completely understand they charged us for more stuff than they thought, but I don't believe we were asked to specify what more than 20 meant. A lot of our stuff is broken or chipped, or missing. Our one year old AC unit is broken because of the way wrapped it in plastic (we didn't ask them to) and trapped in moisture to the electrical parts. We had a cooler with ice cream in it since it was a local move, and they placed it underneath a few boxes so we couldn't even find it, and the ice cream melted and went bad. Our computer screen is missing. I would never recommend this company to anyone. We're gonna have to make a really long claim on the website for all of our missing or broken stuff. They specified that they were so late because the job before us had more stuff than they first claimed. So it sounds like to me this problem occurs more than just one offs, so I'd say it's not the issue with the people who are moving, but the inventory process to ask more specific questions. We're just people moving, we're not professionals, we don't know what to ask, so I think the inventory process should be revamped. They charged us so much over what our estimate was I couldn't possibly afford to tip our movers, which I had planned to do. I feel sorry for the movers who got put through that. read more

As much as I appreciated the three young guys hard work as amateurs, clearly, much more training is necessary. All of my appliances were damaged during the process in one way or another, there was just a lack of knowledge and understanding when moving specific items, they lacked reading clearly identifiable labels, stated fragile, and the moving truck was too small for all of my items. No way was I going to waste time on two trips with this company. I cut my loses as soon as possible! Unfortunately, I needed a moving company quickly, but didn't do my usual research prior to hiring. When they got to our new location, they refused to unpack the truck until we gave them more than twice the amount of the quote. It was a complete scam. We had no choice but to pay it because they threatened to take our stuff and we'd have to figure out how to get it returned. One move broke our screen door with no offer to fix or replace it. The same guy kept complaining about the weight of our belongings. All we had was furniture, no boxes at all. They scammed us. I hired All My Sons movers to move me from Clarksville TN to Appleton WI. since they weren't actually moving me but just loading my 26' Penske truck I wasn't expecting the Varsity team but was hoping for the JV team....sadly I got the freshman B team. I paid for 3 movers and three showed up all about 17-19 years old and they all looked like the heaviest thing they ever lifted was their school backpack. Only 2 guys actually lifted anything, the 3rd guy was the "boss". if it wasn't my stuff being loaded it would have been comical. When they first arrived the boss said it would be done in 2.5 hours. For reference I had almost everything but a bedroom set, sofa, loveseat, kitchen table and 4 chairs, an IKEA desk still on the main floor and a love seat, treadmill and bike upstairs, everything else was already loaded in the garage. 5.5 hours later they were not close to being done. They 2 workers loaded my wife's dresser upside down with no padding on the top. I had about 40 packing blankets and they only wrapped up about 1/2 of my items. i had 9 items extensively damaged and they left after 5.5 hours because they were late to their next job and never finished the job. Another great part is their "insurance" won't cover anything because it wasn't loaded in their truck. I would rather hire the local Girl Scouts for my next move before I would give All My Sons movers another penny of my money. read more

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. Let me tell you about the nightmare that this company has put me through and how our issues STILL has not been resolved and is ongoing. Let me start with the events leading up to the actual move. I talked to 5 different people up until the day of the move. Every person I spoke to had different information in their system than what I told them in regards to the amount of boxes and furniture I had that was being moved. I was told the price estimate would be $859 for 3 guys. I never received a confirmation email and nobody told me the amount it would be for any additional hours. The communication was atrocious. It was so bad that on the day of the move, the main guy leading the move (Matt) kept talking about how the dispatch guys always type in the info wrong and he kept saying how he wasn't happy working for the company and was leaving soon which made me uneasy knowing I booked this company when their own employees hate working there. Now let's fast forward to moving day. The day the guys came for the move, they brought 1 mid size truck. I knew right away it would not be enough room and Matt said that's what they told him to bring and that the dispatch guys make these mistakes all the time by not providing the right amount of trucks for a move. Matt wanted to see if we could fit it all in one truck before calling for another truck. Once they loaded up the first truck, we had to wait almost 3 hours for a 2nd truck to show up with another guy. 3 hours that I was charged for because they did not provide the right team or amount of trucks to begin with based on the original information I gave them from the first call I made to the company. I felt like they did this on purpose to charge me more money. Not to mention that the moving team they provided had 2 guys on it who were new and 1 guy didn't have experience wrapping things which made the move even longer due to Matt and one of the other guys being the only ones who could wrap furniture. As they were moving my furniture into the new house, there were several pieces of furniture that were damaged due to bumping things against the walls. The baby crib, mirror and TV were damaged. My OLED Tv was the most expensive item that was damaged and I actually had to replace the screen. Our main mover Matt took pictures of everything as well. When they were carrying the TV out of the unit and into the new one I explained to carry it from the bottom since it is an OLED TV and the screen I fragile as it's made of one sheet of glass. When they moved it in the glass dislodged from the base and I think something bumped it hard in the truck since you can see the green/red/blue pixels on some spots of the screen and the glass not getting a good connection with the base. When they finally finished the job, which took way longer due to all the hiccups we had, Matt called another guy in the dispatch center to take my payment and passed the speakerphone to me. The guy on the phone told me my total cost was $2739 which was WAY more expensive than what I was originally quoted...almost 350% more! I told him that there's no way I'm going to pay that as that was not even close to my estimate and explained all the issues we had with the move. He told me that was "not his problem" and that I would have to take it up with customer service after the fact. When I gave the phone back to Matt, he looked at the total cost and was talking to the gentleman on speakerphone and said "Wow that's his price?" The guy on the other end of the phone laughed out loud and said "Yea man crazy right?" It was as if he was mocking me and laughing because they had just duped me and ripped me off. Our move should have NEVER been this long. This company is the textbook example of predatory business practices! They should be fined and shut down! They have a video call with you to go through the entire house, garage, etc and give you a quote/estimate including materials etc. which for us was $1798.00 Once they came to our house (yesterday), they increased the amount to $5,500!! When we called and said that's insane and can't afford to pay more than 250% more? their response was simple- ok we will keep your deposit. Find a new mover. Absolutely disgusting! We were scammed. Simple as that. Yet this company still operates doing this to people & families every single day! Someone needs to shut them down!!! read more

I had a move from Oak Park to Naperville on 8/10. I called at least twice before my moving date to confirm my address. But the morning of my move someone from the office called to say their movers had come to my address and someone there told them their services weren't needed. Clearly they had the wrong address. I again confirmed my address and was told they would arrive in 20 minutes. 20 minutes later the driver called to say they were out front - but they weren't. They had an address for 2 blocks away. I corrected them again and they finally arrived. The move itself went pretty smoothly until the end. The lead mover told me I could send the tip to them via Zelle to his cell phone. I said that would be great and they left. 2 to 3 minutes later the lead mover called me and said "would you mind sending us the tip now? Sometimes customers say they're going to tip and then they don't. We're still in your driveway. We can wait for you to Zelle us the tip". What was this - a shakedown?! My boyfriend decided not to Zelle the tip, so instead he went down and gave them cash. A couple days later I realized we had a box missing and the whole tip shakedown situation was still on my mind. So I called All My Sons and told them I needed a claim form for the missing box and mentioned what had happened. The representative seemed to be surprised about the situation and said we would be contacted by someone soon to discuss the situation and possibly offered a credit. Ironically, I was also informed that our bill included an hour of travel time to and from our job. Travel time that they had been late for... Meanwhile, I submitted the claim form by email for $100 loss on the missing box. A few days later I received a DocuSign from the company offering me $70 for my $100 claim. And the DocuSign stipulates that "all parties agree not to disparage one another in any way on any public forum and agree not to write negative or disparaging statements regarding services performed or communication that transpired between the parties". What more can I say? I've moved a few times before and have never been left with such a bad taste in my mouth... read more
