My father had no plans in place prior to his unexpected passing, other than he wanted to be buried with his fellow serviceman, and everyone at Destiny made the process painless and easy. Something much needed three days after his passing. Every single person we talked to was so kind and helpful. And the prices were much more affordable than we expected. My mother was so happy with them she plans to go back for her own arrangements. Making arrangements for my dad was something I absolutely dreaded and they helped us every step of the way. I cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you so much Destiny!

My uncle, Eddie Comick, was like a father to me, and losing him this past November to Colon Cancer was incredibly difficult. After searching for the right place, we found Destiny, and I am so grateful we did. From our initial meeting until long after my uncle was laid to rest, Steven was there every step of the way. He truly treated us like family. One moment that meant so much was when Steven sat with my sister and me to view a tribute video of our favorite memories; his presence and comfort during that time were a gift. Steven's attention to detail was incredible. He guided me through every logistics hurdle and even helped arrange the catering for the repass. I honestly don't know how I would have managed without his help. If you are looking for a place that is family-oriented and prioritizes service and fair pricing over profit, I highly recommend Destiny Funeral Home. I know my uncle would have been so proud of his home-going service. Thank you, Steven, for everything. -- Jakela Baylor

I am comforted to know that my Mother and Grandmother have their marker finished the way it should have been. Panda Memorial stepped up and assisted me after I was let down by another company. I am grateful. Roger did exactly what he said he would do- communicate, keep me updated and he delivered and it was done fast and with care. Thank you Roger for everything. I highly recommend Panda Memorial.

Must make appointment as he is not there all the time. He qas flexible in meeting with us & when we wanted to go in earlier, he was already there so he was fine with it. Roger made the whole process as easy as possible for us & did not take too long to show us the design we wanted to have for the headstone. We went with the black granite with a line around the edges, a crowd with praying hands overlapped. Roger made it exactly the way we wanted. We wanted to include my father-in-law's full name in English & Korean and Roger was able to do it. He even had 3 different font options in Korean. Extra charge for foreign characters but he does not charge per letter but just a flat fee. He's familiar with the rules different cemeteries have about headstones, will coordinate with Rose Hills to get the headstone approved, & will deliver the headstone once it's completed. Thanks Roger. You made the last part of bidding good bye to my father-in-law very easy. We really appreciate it!

The grounds are in good condition and the place is very safe. The only drawback is that there is no bathroom so go before you arrive or hold it until you leave. Sometimes during Halloween and other holidays they do tours, ghost stories or even live movie events. So check the local Long Beach news and social media pages to see if they're having any community events soon.

We returned the next day in broad daylight around 3:00p. Sunnyside is an old cemetery and has lawn burials only; it does not have mausoleum or columbarium space of any kind. Sunnyside is adjacent to the separate Long Beach Municipal Cemetery. The gate for Municipal Cemetery was actually open that evening we went. Yes, we stopped by. Usually, we search for famous people or husband tells me that the cemetery may be haunted by angry souls whose final resting place did not allow them to "rest in peace." We learned of The Ghostly Bride of Sunnyside Cemetery. A bride was killed on the way to her wedding and was buried in her wedding dress. Her ghost is said to be seen at the cemetery itself wandering the cemetery grounds at night. The bride's name is Bessie McKensie Baxter. We found her gravestone. Now my hubby likes to turn on his Ghost SLS app when visiting cemeteries. I don't know how accurate this app is but there was no activity on the ghost bride but not too far away there generated some activity. A few feet away was the grave marker for a gentleman named William J Kingdon. The app detected stick entity on his grave and is often erratic. Anyway, I researched and he was a miner in Arizona but often summered in Long Beach. Review #2970
