This is a well organized funeral home. We attended my cousins funeral. The staff and the location was perfect.

The new coordinator Carlos, really sucks. He needs to go back to school and get some customer service skills. At a place like Stricklin/ Snively you need someone who shows empathy and compassionate. All this guy show is a lot of attitude and arrogance. Total jerk. Would give 0 star for customer service. read more

The Manager, Michelle, took care of my family and I after the passing of my father. Long Beach is home to a large Cambodian population, so they were already familiar with the traditional cremation ceremony with the monks and all. They had it all ready for us all set up with chairs, Buddha, rugs and all. Michelle and her staff educated us on how it was typically done and guided us throughout the process. There was very limited available openings for services in October, but She helped me in my time of need and was so understanding and was able to find a date. Recommend this place. read more

We are the traditional khmer family, so we needed a place that would customize our funeral to our exact needs. Corina was such a courteous planner, she made sure we had everything planned accordingly. She valued taking care of us and making sure we are happy with the funeral. It was raining the day we had our funeral and they were nice enough to let us borrow a few tables to accomodate more family members. We have used this location for almost all family members because of their cremation services and our family Buddhist traditions. However, this last time the person helping us was new in the position (Carlos) and made an error on the death certificate and we weren't able to get a death certificate right away. Meaning we were not able to bury or do anything with my mom's remains. He told us the amendment through the state would not be processed until August. I read that it should only take up to 8 weeks. We had services in Dec 2023, 8 weeks would put us at February. As a result we've not had the closure we've needed with such a hard loss. No one has contacted us regarding the amended death certificate. Just really disappointing quality of care in such a sensitive time. read more

Carlos was not professional. On the day of the my uncle's service and cremation, the book was not out for guests to sign. A room was not open for guests to sit due to ceiling links cause of the rain, but towards the end of service, it somehow opened up. My cousin told me they wanted to view her dad's body before service, but apparently they no longer keep the bodies there - it's kept at Westminster memorial park which is probably something to disclose upfront to families. It is unfortunate that the Long Beach community uses them. read more

We had my dads viewing and rosary at this location and we couldn't have had it turn out any better.. especially during the circumstances we are in due to covid19. Dealing with the loss of our loved ones was emotionally enough that Muy did everything possible to make it run smooth. It was a beautiful turnout. (Viewing/Rosary and Funeral services.) If you want to see your love one for the last time before they are cremated this is not the place for you. We asked to see my father before cremating. This place made us believed that we are going to view him in a nice quiet room. Instead we are send in a place in the back of the building, where they cremate. We are shock to see him that way beside the furnace. This place have no regards of your feelings. read more

Came here for visitation of a friend's mother. I was immediately impressed by how culturally sensitive the experience was. My friend's mother is Cambodian and Buddhist, and the place honored both of those traditions by having mats to walk barefoot on and incense sticks for burning . Although dying is a fact of life, it takes very special people to handle such a delicate and emotional situation. Tribute video played throughout with quiet, again culturally appropriate, music. Tissue boxes provided all around . Memorial card presented to every visitor. Parking was spacious when I got here, and extends to the back of the building. Clear signs about no food or (open) drink in the Chapel itself, but was okay for the reception area. There is also online sympathy book available. You can search obituaries on the site. read more

Piece of shit mortuary, all they cared about was money & their care center in Westminster is a piece of shit too. Lack of communication but only kept in contact when it came to money. Steven (guy with dreads) and the cremation specialist we're the only ones cool throughout the process. Sylvia is a fucking idiot and got most of the info wrong on my father's death certificate. Maybe it was just a bad experience for me, but fuck this place. read more

This was a first for us as we've never had to deal with a loved one's s after death plans. My mother-in-law passed away in September and we found ourselves making calls around town to find somewhere where they could accommodate her cremation. Stricklin/Snively was the second place we called and we immediately felt such a comfort over the phone when explaining our situation of needing someone who could pick up my mother-in-laws body within a 4 hour timeline since the hospital that she had passed away at only gave us that timeframe. We spoke with Silvia, who not only called the hospital herself at that very moment to find out the details of the transport but she made it possible to do it in such short notice and within the timeframe. We also found that the cost for their services were so affordable & although we only needed their services for the cremation since the ceremony would be held elsewhere, they were by far the most reasonable. Silvia being bilingual and being able to speak with my father in law in Spanish was a huge plus for us as there were times when only he could of answered certain questions regarding my MIL personal information. We will always remember their kindness in our time if need. read more

Dealing with a death is never easy. However, we had the best customer service with your agency. Corina was excellent. Speaks very clear english, very polite and she shows her sympathy for the family. Most of all NOT pushing but explains all your options and packages. Makes coping with a death more comfortable. My Mom had contracted for cremation services over a decade ago. The family had no choice in a mortuary. I say, Beware of promises made and broken, process interrupted by a holiday or scheduled days off with no prior warning. Inefficient, unresponsive, terrible communication skills and a total lack of instructions on required paperwork made this process a living nightmare. A company is only as strong as its weakest link. Personnel training and attention to your clients planned Memorial Date are mandatory. I didn't trust them to deliver my Mom's remains on time. I went to the office and sat waiting for too long. I will have to watch my credit card bill as it took 15 minutes to get it back as the employee was waiting for her computer to boot up. Honestly? read more

Sylvia was my point of contact very great person compassionate and help me throughout the entire process besides the day of the service we had a Cambodian assistant for the day of the service I'm such a doofus for not taking her name of course that day was the hardest for me, however she was amazing I can't praise her enough from the beginning the the end she was there to help me through out the process. Funeral arrangements are difficult, and often expensive. They will try to sell you a package that starts around 7000 dollars. You can successfully negotiate an a la carte package for much less. They are required by law to break down the expenses item by item, such as embalming, refrigeration, transport, storage, use of facility for viewing, casket, cremation if you decide on that, etc. We got the minimal services and cheapest casket for 3000 dollars out the door. Also, the cemetery will tell you you need a vault, and that is also not required by law. So, in times of stress, grief and vulnerability, the funeral business can prey upon the survivors, and you someone to represent your interests when you deal with them. read more

We recently had my grandma's funeral at Stricklin Snively and the staff was very kind in helping my dad plan all the details. Apparently, the mortuary has been in business over 100 years and used to be family-owned. The inside of the building is a lot bigger than it appears on the outside and it is decorated nicely. my family made a lot of calls to mortuaries in Long Beach to find a reasonable price and the pricing at Stricklin was basically in the same range as other places, but the fact that the person who answered our questions at Stricklin said that they were there to help us plan a funeral honoring my grandma and accommodate our budget was cool. My dad mentioned that he didn't feel pressured and had said that he was leaning towards Forest Lawn in Cypress because his uncle was buried there. The lady explained that they could go to any cemetery and even said that we could always call back to ask any questions even if we didn't end up choosing Stricklin. But in the end, he called them back because he felt more comfortable trusting a person who was willing to be helpful first before trying to sell something. It's was so overwhelming to have to find out all this information right after losing my grandma and I hope we don't have to go through it any time soon. But I know that my dad is already worrying about my grandpa. My family was satisfied with Stricklin because we trusted the lady that helped us. I think it would have been way better if prices were not so high, but most of the mortuaries are expensive. Death sure does make you think about your own kids and how you should start saving. read more
