My truck was having a difficult time passing the state smog test. After looking around at a few different shops we decided to bring it here. Am I ever glad we did! Paul, the shop owner, was very kind and professional. He said he could make anything pass smog with the right amount of work done. I was a bit afraid that this might cost me an arm and a leg, but Paul reassured me that it would be reasonable. He was able to take my truck in for diagnostics right away, and then next day he fixed it and it passed the smog test! Less than 24 hours start to finish. Price ended up being VERY reasonable for a new catalytic converter. I'm glad to have found my mechanic-I won't hesitate to visit All Pro Auto again when I need work on my truck! read more

I received a safety inspection and tire rotation today. I am very thankful for the price charged to me for this service, it was much lower than estimates from other local auto shops in old town Torrance! Big thanks to all pro auto! However, I received a high estimate for more complex work. I found a much more affordable estimate at another shop. My advice to anyone is to get quotes from multiple shops! All Pro came highly recommended by the mechanics that service my wife's car. I took our car in for a smog check which it failed. The reason why was we didn't drive the car enough as my wife only drives it to the grocery store and to do local errands. Paul who was working the day I took our car in suggested that to get all 6 monitors to work in the car I need to drive it out on the road and suggested I drive it down the freeway toward Long Beach which I did. He gave me a monitor to monitor the car's monitors and told me where the red x was on the monitor that when it turned to green that all the cars monitors would be in sync and I would pass the smog check. This is what I did and when I came back he retested the car and it passed. I enjoyed working with Paul. He was fair and he was honest and that is why I wrote this review!!!! read more

Learned something new from my local smog station - my DMV renewal required my smog test at a "STAR" station. They referred me to All Pro Auto Repair in Torrance. When I googled it I saw it was close to home AND they offered a $10 discount! As I got close to Auto Pro, I was thrilled to see it was walking distance to Torrance Bakery! Wouldn't mind killing time there! As it turns out, I was quoted a 15 minute wait time. Pretty good for a walk in! Quick and easy. Spoke with Ray on the phone at 2:17 pm regarding a smog test. He said to come on over to the shop and they'd handle it right away. I arrived at the shop within 10 minutes. When I got to there, there was 1 customer ahead of me. Ray grabbed my keys and paperwork, but before I got too comfortable on the couch in the waiting area he said, "That's it, you passed". He included a discount on the price of the smog test and certificate and apologised for the wait (said they would've been quicker if it weren't for the customer ahead of me, lol!). He rang me up, handed me my paperwork and keys, and I was out the door by 2:41 pm. This place is great, best experience ever! read more

Worst smog check experience ever, had to go back a couple of times just to get one retest. When I failed the first smog check with Paul, I had tried to explain to him that maybe I had failed the test due to the rainy cold weather the day before and that morning but Paul didn't believe in that and he insisted me to pay $125 just to find out what's wrong with my car. And then pay for parts and labor. Most places don't charge you unless you pass and will tell you what's wrong with your car after the failed smog check. And when I asked for a retest on another day, and it was sunny. He wouldn't give me my free retest because he still wanted me to pay $125 and new parts and labor. I went to Arco off of Sepuleveda on a sunny day, they had said everything looked great except there's rust on the Catalic converter They were able to tell me what's wrong with my car without having to pay extra unlike Paul and All Auto Pro Repair, who were being greedy with the smog check. When smog checks would come with a report of what's wrong, they didn't want to. They're going to have to step up their game and their customer service if they want to keep their customers. I'm confused as to why they have 4 1/2 stars on yelp. read more

Went there with a problem that most shops wouldn't or couldn't touch, since it involved me taking a motor with a computer controlled fuel injection system from one truck and putting it in an older classic truck. Lots of wires and no idea where to look for answers. Going online only got me maybe halfway there. The owner, Paul, who I have known for many years, gave it to Dan to figure out. Dan sorted it out, tuned it to run right and I couldn't be happier with their work, and the positive attitude towards making sure it was done correctly. I took my 1998 Chevy pickup truck here because needed a gold shield smog check. I also had been having starting problems and poor fuel mileage. Dealer could never fix this and charged me big bucks for nothing. Had been living with this problem for about 5 years. Left it for Paul to smog check. When I came back Paul mentioned the starting problem. I asked if he could tune it up. He said doesn't need tune up but maybe a fuel pressure regulator. He fixed it at a fraction of the cost of a tune up and what the dealer had been ripping me off. It now starts great and fuel milage should be better. Bottom line. expert diagnosis, great communicator, quality work, fair prices. I'll update later on any fuel mileage improvements I get. read more

Quick and easy smog check. Ended up having an issue with my car. Paul was courteous and explained the issue which just required that I monitor the exhaust system with a specific device which he lent me for a small deposit. The device saved me a ton of time and frustration. It's sort of hard to explain the issue. Basically, they will help you to make sure your car passes. I own a 1980 VW Westy. I had a hard time getting it smogged this year. a few place simply refused to even test it. When I finally did get a test it failed and I got a $3000 estimate to repair it. I went to All Pro on the advice of a friend. They took a look at the previous test and did a visual inspection and told me what would need to be fixed before even attempting a retest. When I brought it back it passed. They charge a bit more for older vehicles but for the time and expertise it's worth it.
