As a first time home buyer, you need to ensure the amount you will be investing in a home is worth it. Well needless to say, Mark called me back several times that same day (yes, on a Sunday) to understand my needs and when I needed the job done. We (me, my agent, and Mark) aligned on Tuesday for the inspection and estimate for possible repairs (as my contingency would expire in 4 days). Mark performed the inspection and provided clear insight on the past, current, and future condition of the foundation---overall, the repairs were in the $20K. Apparently only half of the house foundation was complete and the previous contractor only performed half--causing one side to shift and then possibly crumble. We contacted All Seasons as part of our search to find the right contractor to replace our foundation this past year. In fact, I received bids from five separate contractors before it was over and it was All Seasons that we went with. Mark (owner) was completely reasonable in his negotiations and while we didn't pay the lowest amount for All Seasons we definitely received the absolute best work product and greatest scope of work. We really appreciated that he worked with our budget and made it possible for us to hire his team. The work was scheduled to take 4-5 weeks and it was finished within that window. We only had one very minor modification which was a decision we made to ensure the long term viability of the work being done and even then Mark was reasonable as to how to make that happen. What a fantastic company in all aspects. From initially scheduling a visit, to getting a timely estimate to fitting us in to their busy schedule, All Seasons was amazing. Jeremy was my main contact and was always super responsive and realistic with our job, which consisted of outdoor retaining walls. He was able to navigate the different requirements the city had to get the permits issued in a timely fashion as well as get our work started over 2 weeks ahead of the initial estimate. Mark's estimate on our foundation repair/retrofit was the lowest by about 20%, and only 50% of the cost of some contractors and he was not deterred by the low clearance of the crawlspace. We had an excellent experience with All Seasons. Mark in particular is knowledgeable, professional, and easy to work with. And the work product was terrific: pre-All Seasons, our property flooded in the winter like Lake Shasta, but post-All Seasons we have no drainage problems whatsoever. The crew even fixed a gutter that I screwed up DIY, no questions asked. They also quickly fixed all the stuff they inadvertently banged up across our property. If I had to offer one critique, it's that the clean-up was a bit incomplete---the crew left cigarette butts all over our property, and as I'm going through the yard trying to till, dig, and otherwise landscape following the drainage work, I am encountering large chunks of concrete that All Seasons should have hauled away rather than bury in my yard. But that in no way overshadows our All Seasons experience. This is an excellent company that deserves the highest marks. read more

I work with contractors for a living so I know how unusual it is to come in on time, on budget and most importantly, with a high quality result. I must say I was extremely impressed with ASC. The estimator that came out (Jeremy) was nice enough to look at a whole barrage of things I was concerned about and instead of talking me into work I didn't need he assured me there was nothing to work about. A less discerning contractor may well have taken advantage of someone who knows little to nothing about foundation repair by filling me with fear. Once started (which was the exact day promised), the project moved faster than I expected, the foreman (John) was clearly experienced and knowledgeable and the crews worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves each day. Now that the work is done and we've had quite a heavy rainstorm I can confirm that the french drain, sump pump and downspouts all operate exactly as promised. Hooray for a dry basement! read more

My basement had been leaking during the raining season since I bought this house in 1997. I had two previous contractors try to solve the problem but the problem was never solved. I paid quite a bit of money to these two contractors. I picked up this company because I saw one of their staff members working on a house when I was walking by. I was very impressed by what he was doing. After I called the office, the manager Jeremy came to my house several times to assess what needed to be done. He is an excellent guy. He did a thorough assessment and explained to me what the plan would be and gave me some suggestions. He was very honest and openly discussed with me what options I had. Besides needing to install the drainage pipes and pump, he also suggested connecting the main drainage pipes to the tool shed trench, because the tool shed trench had no outlet. Before the project started, when I had questions, he always responded very quickly and he updated me frequently when they would start the project because their schedule was very tight. During the process, the workers are excellent and very efficient. They did an awesome job. When they started this project, I also wanted to add another project to add concrete to my side path. Jeremy came again and did another assessment and gave me a very reasonable price. I am very satisfied with what they did for me. In the middle of the process, when the first Lead Foreman had a medical problem, Jeremy tried very hard to arrange the second Lead Foreman to come help. I was very impressed. The whole process ran very smoothly. I highly recommended this company. No matter their field workers or the office workers, they are all very nice, professional, and efficient. On time, on budget, responsive and responsible. We had All Seaosns build French drain on 2 sides of the house. The team work through 2 days of rain when digging the trench without complain. Protected the trench from excessive moisture so the pest control can come in as soon as the weather clears up. The foreman makes sure we know what's going on at every critical step of the work. On the day they were pouring the concrete, an extra team of 5 came by (as it should be). It was clear to me they work as a cohesive productive team. Speaking volumes of the leadership of the management and the foreman. Jeremy, the operations manager said the project will take 2-3 weeks from start to finish; they delivered on time with finalised permit from Berkeley to show. What an impressive record. They are about 20% more than the other quote we've got. OK, we didn't trust the final invoice of the other quote to stay as quoted anyway. I coud never have imagined a better experience than the one I had with All Seasons Construction. I recently purchased a 1920s craftsman with a finished basement and sure enough it started flooding the very first day it rained. To say I freaked out is an understatement. I called everywhere and everyone I could and everyone had completely a different opinion on how to fix the flooding. At the same time I was stressed in trying to deal with a pretty shady sellers that clearly knew about the flooding but never disclosed it. After spending multiple days talking to as many specialists and contractors and being about as stressed as I've ever been, I got in touch with Mark from All Seasons Construction. Mark came out the very next day to check out the place and give me an estimate that was cheaper than the other contractors while ALSO more comprehensive. I also liked his high Yelp and BBB ratings and the fact that he was Diamond Certified. Needless to say I went with his proposal. Within 2 weeks, during the week of Christmas, his crew was at my house digging a 6 foot trench that wrapped around the front and sides of my home. I had never seen so much dirt get dug up before. Needless to say, his crew was amazing. From the foremen to each and every worker; everyone was amazing. It was not an easy job by any means, but they did it and they did it very well. Everyone was very approachable and I was kept in the loop during the entire process. At few points I was even consulted on some minor improvements that were being considered for the job. One thing I also appreciated was that All Seasons Construction was flexible enough to change a significant part of the drainage system that they had already started but that I was having second thoughts about (it cost a tiny bit more but is very much worth it). We found Four Seasons Construction in the Diamond Certified Directory. After reading excellent reviews of the company, we contacted Mark Corrallo, the owner of Four Seasons, about a drainage project for our Berkeley hills home. Mark came to our home personally and was knowledgeable and clear as to the work necessary to prevent water leakage into the foundation of our home during major rain storms. (Our home is located on a gradual uphill slope.) Mark's bid came in slightly higher than the bid of another contractor, but we chose to go with Four Seasons since Mark's bid was more clearly detailed and knowledgeable than that of his competitor. Also, we were reassured by the good reviews of his company as well as by the Diamond Certified rating. When the work began, the crew came promptly every morning at around 8:30 a.m. All of the crew members were hard-working, focused and professional. They worked well together as a team. We communicated mainly with Miguel, the foreman of the project, on a daily basis about the many details involved in such a complicated project. Miguel was excellent -- knowledgeable, very conscientious, and easy to talk to. He appeared to be an effective and competent leader of the crew. At the end of each day, the crew left the area around our home clean and organized, which is difficult with such a major excavation project. The work proceeded quickly and smoothly with less disruption to our daily lives than we expected. The only delays in the project happened when the crew had to wait for Berkeley City inspectors to approve the work performed at two different stages of the project before the final work could be completed. I contracted with All Seasons to redo a portion of my crumbling 100 year old foundation. Mark, the owner, promptly scheduled a time to give me an estimate. I had 3 other bids and their bid matched another highly reputable structural contractor in Alameda. The reason I chose All Seasons was the time and care Mark spent answering my questions and explaining in detail how the work would be performed. He took my questions over the phone and also included very specific details in the bid that was missing in other bids. When the work began, Joel, the operations manager, would check in with me regularly to make sure things were going as planned and answer any questions I had. He was always available and easy to work with. The crew is AMAZING. Sergio was my job foreman and everything was done neatly, on time and right on budget. At the end of the work day things were cleaned up and put in order. They were extremely professional and courteous. Just to demonstrate how great these guys are, I had a flat tire that needed to be changed and as soon as they saw me attempting it ran over and changed it for me. Now that is above and beyond! The completed work exceeds my expectations. They trenched almost 2" down in my crawlspace to pour a new foundation with was properly bolted and structurally sound. They redid some of my piers that were sinking and out of square and bolted them and topped it off with new shear walling to ensure seismic safety. The houses that fared Loma Prieta the best had seismic upgrades and since I don't carry earthquake insurance, this is a sound investment for me. When they were done, they even straightened up the myriad of wires that are under the house anchoring them neatly to keep them off the ground. This was my first big construction project and I could not be more pleased. I would recommend them to any of my friends and rehire them for any more structural work I might need. read more

A few month's later I needed to get some concrete steps repaired so I contacted All Season's to see if they could do the job. I hired All Seasons Construction to tear down and replace a 2nd story deck (180 sq ft). And the end result looks great! Not only did they do an excellent job, but they were able to both start AND finish ahead of schedule. The original deck was made of wood (which was badly damaged by water), and had a 2-3" concrete overlay (not sure who had that bright idea). All Seasons provided a very detailed quote about how the job would be handled, and checked in regularly to let me know the progress. They also got a dump box for demolition day and everything was cleaned up along the way. So it was nice that the area didn't look like a construction zone while all of the work was going on. read more

I contracted with All Seasons Construction to eliminate a drainage problem at my house where ground water intruded in the crawl space during heavy rains. This was the fourth improvement project on my house in two years, and I was not looking forward to working with another contractor and crew. There always seemed to be some unanticipated problem with every project. But this work had to be done. What a surprise! From the very beginning to the very end, All Seasons Construction provided excellent service, and remarkably I do not have one complaint about anything. The project began when Mark, the owner, came to my house to examine the situation. He was very knowledgeable about the type of problem we were experiencing and immediately had ideas about what needed to be done to eliminate the problem. Within 2 days Mark provided the plan to eliminate the water intrusion and the estimate for doing so. I had questions about two points, and Mark altered the plan to accommodate my concerns. He estimated that the job would take 10 days. During the construction phase, the operations manager Joel served as my company contact. He encouraged me to call him at any time 24-7 with any concern. I took him up on that offer a couple of times during the first few of days of construction. My questions were always answered, and my concerns were addressed immediately. Joel also visited the site several times to check on the job. Probably my biggest surprise during this project was the job foreman, Miguel. He exceeded every expectation I had of what a good job foreman does. He went above and beyond what he needed to do to be sure that my project was done the very best way possible, that the drainage problem would be eliminated, and that my husband and I would be happy with the work. One day as I talked with Miguel about where one of the pipes should be placed, I realized that I was talking to a perfectionist who would demand more from himself than I would demand. At that point I realized that I did not need to worry about the job any more; the work would be done well. I should also mention the crew which ranged daily from two to five men depending on the task. They were fantastic. I was amazed at how much dirt could be removed from under my house in one day! I had some concern that the noise and activity might disturb my neighbors. My concern was needless. While the activity is necessarily accompanied by noise, the workers were respectful of the neighbors and of my home. The entire project was finished two days early (8 days total). Both my husband and I were very pleased. I don't know if construction can ever be pleasant, but this project was as close to pleasant as I think construction can come. My home had water intrusion issues in the crawlspace and through the slab. Also my driveway was damaged from the root system of a large tree. The project proceeded in 3 phases. The first was demolition of the existing rotten wood deck, small concrete patio and walkway, and complete demolition of the driveway. This freed the path for phase 2; trenching and installation for the french drain system. Phase 3 was pouring a new concrete pad for the side of the house and the driveway. All were completed on time and professionally. I'm happy to say that after the decent storms of November that my crawlspace and garage remained dry. The work went smoothly with a minimum amount of disruption to myself and my neighbors. The workers showed up promptly every day at 8:30 AM and worked until dusk. They came every day (including a Saturday) until the work was completed. There were complications at the outset but the company owner Mark Corrallo and his foreman Encarnacion came up with a good solution quickly which was approved by my Structural Engineer who planned the job. Encarnacion kept me completely aware of everything that was being done and took the time to explain it to me thoroughly. Mark came up with a plan to improve upon the design of the drainage system being installed that would allow future connections if I desired other drainage work to be done. I was told by another company they would have to take my deck partially apart to do the dry rot work but All Seasons was able to do the work without altering my deck. They had everything planned out well so that cement, rock, inspectors all arrived on time. They did a great job of shoring up parts of my deck that needed more support and added designer rock to an area that was cut out for the drainage trough. They cleaned up every day and never left anything in my neighbors driveway. They did a final cleanup that left the whole area spotless. We decided to add some shear wall in the area that was worked on which upped the price slightly but was within the allowance I budgeted. We decided to go with All Season construction after having the three of the contractors with the best overall reviews come out and give proposals. When Mark came out, he was very knowledgeable, professional and did not try to sell us on doing more work than we needed. The steel straps were heavier duty and greater in number than others had proposed. His workers were absolutely punctual and hard-working. I also feel that Mark was very fair and straightforward when I asked him to do a little additional work we had not previously discussed. We interviewed three contractors for a big job--replacing and earthquake-proofing the crumbling foundation of a 1914 house and earthquake-proofing a 1950 one-story cottage in back of the house. Mark was impressively knowledgeable. He had a much-sought-after engineer draw up plans for the house (the cottage was easy, and Mark did the plan himself). He explained everything lucidly and was responsive to our engineer friend who joined the discussion. Our friend recommended that we hold the company to cap the price in the bid, and Mark agreed. Then, however, further investigation after the work had begun revealed the need for additional reinforcements, and we agreed to the cost, relatively minor compared to the base cost. Sergio, the foreman, was both highly knowledgeable and well organized, and the workers were uniformly pleasant. The work took several weeks longer than expected, and this was OK with us. I was not surprised when an inspector for the city told me: "I know these guys--they do good work." We recommend All Seasons Construction as reasonably priced, capable, and good to work with. read more

We hired All Seasons to install French drains around our home two years ago and were very pleased with their work, so in the spring of 2012 we re-hired them for a major project to replace a large section of our foundation, which supports our old and heavy home on a steep hillside. This was a lengthy and complex endeavor which required a lot of planning and frequent communication. Mark and John were excellent to work with. They were communicative and reliable. We hired All Seasons Construction to resolve a drainage problem -water emerging in the middle of our basement- due to a poor job by a previous contractor. Mark proposed a solution by cutting the cement slab and rebar, and digging an additional French drain underneath the basement. He also installed a new heavy duty sump pump with a hydraulic backup in case of main pump or electricity failure during a storm. Even though it was a relatively small project, Mark and his very professional crew including Miguel, Angel and others did a fantastic job. They arrived on time at 7:30 on day one as agreed, took care of our concerns protecting our stuff, and maintaining the job free of debris. They finished right on schedule on day 3, leaving the jobsite clean and ready to use. We are no experts but Mark seemed more knowledgeable than other contractors we consulted and the cost more reasonable too. I have had water intrusion in my basement for a couple of years and finally decided to have the drainage work done.I got four estimates and, after discussing the problem with Mark, I chose Four Seasons because his analysis made the most sense, I felt confident in his professionalism, and his estimate was reasonable (especicially compared with one company that suggested a drain around the entire house for $29,500). Two days after starting the job the crew made a discovery - the sewer company that had installed a new lateral sewer line (trenchless) in May 2007 had missed a connection with one of my house drains and water from tub and sink had been emptying directly into the soil - no wonder I was having water instrusion. I called the sewer company and the next day they came out and made the connection. Mark is supporting my effort to get compensation for the negligence of the sewer company. The Four Seasons crew managed to continue the work and finish it on time despite the surprise.
