My review on All Star Movers is long over due. We contacted All Star Movers last year when the pandemic first started. We went with All Star Movers because 1. the yelp reviews are AMAZING... 2. our apartment complex has them listed as an "approved" mover. I planned out our upcoming move with Bill. I found Bill to be very short and seemed to be very annoyed with the questions and concerns I had. He assured me that the movers would be safe with COVID precautions. Bill also assured me that the movers would be on time at our apartment during our move time ( our complex has a strict schedule for elevator use for moving purposes). Bill gave us a quote based on the items we needed moved and the time it would take to move. On moving day, the movers were late. We had two movers. They only wore gloves and did not wear masks because it would be harder for them to work with a mask on... The movers appeared to be tired when they came inside and got to work. One of the movers explained to me that the other mover working was new to the company. I'm assuming the new mover was not use to the demand of the job because he had to keep taking breaks. We did not have much to move - just a few pieces of furniture. The two movers got the truck loaded and was set to go to our new home which was less than 5 miles away. They unpacked the furniture. Some how the movers went over the time that was planned. I found it very odd that the time went over since we only moved a handful of furniture and we had absolutely no boxes to be moved. After settling into our new home, I was extremely disappointed to find that almost all the furniture that was moved was now scratched up. Our dinning table, TV console, couch and flat screen TV all had damage. All the furniture that was moved was brand new and had been delivered with white glove service when we bought it and was never moved before. I'm very puzzled on why our experience was no where near to the experience on what other yelpers had with this company. Would I recommend All Star Movers? No I would not ! The whole experience with this company still leaves a bad taste and is one of our biggest regrets. read more

I needed the movers to move everything from the level which had hardwood floors that were being refinished to a lower level while the work was being done. Later, moving the furniture back to the hardwood that was not yet "cured" (takes about 3 weeks after it drys) required delicate carefulness on their part to not scrape the new finish and they excelled at this! In addition, there was an antique armoire which comes apart for moving and when they reassembled it the door no longer closed because the wood had changed a bit during the storage period. They send a qualified person to fix this shortly thereafter. I was really impressed that they stepped up to do this. I highly recommend them to anyone who likes a business that performs well and stands behind their work. read more

Normally I don't like to review businesses that I have only visited a time or two, but when they move you a long distance, what else can you do? This review is based on two moves. We had a perfect move from Pleasanton to the San Diego area. We packed a lot ourselves and they came the day before the move to pack the hard stuff, and at the same time got all the packed items down to the garage to shorten the load time the next day. They came exactly when they said they would, delivered overnight, at almost exactly what the estimate was. We had only one minor item injured and as far as we can tell, none lost. The crew worked hard and intelligently. They didn't even panic when our new building's elevator decided to hold them prisoner for 20 minutes. It is important to update them with an accurate inventory as the costs are dependent on it. Our second move was to move my son's small apartment to Anaheim, and things went smoothly again. I found the movers via Yelp and they were fantastic. We had a 3 guy crew- Sal, David and Juan. They moved quick, asked questions to make sure all the furniture was delivered to the right room and carefully wrapped everything. The guys were friendly and it made moving suck less. I've used them for the first time I moved 3 years ago an, and WOW what a difference that made. I take fill responsibility for not doing my do diligence the 2nd time around, but still I believe my experience has to be shared. I called for the quote and the lady on the phone was very helpful, I went floor by floor of my 3 story condo and told her every item I needed moved. So they did their thing and the quote was for 5 hours, which made sense to me, so I booked the date an we were good to go. When the movers came they arrived 2 hours late (which was fine with me) and began working. After 5 hours they were still at my first house, so I knew that I was going to go over the hours, but the workers moved very slow, even were chatting amongst themselves and laughing at some video on their phones, while cursing and complaining about how many floors there were. Once they finished packing up, onto the next house which was 1 exit away.... I drove ahead and for some reason it took them 30 minutes to arrive, when it too me 10. So they unloaded and when the finished my 5 hour quote ended up being 10 HOURS! WTF I called management the next day to complain and the friendliness disappeared. They accused me of mis courting the estimate (which I didnt) and then started using the excuse of how even 2 additional steps can add 5 minutes of time to each piece of furniture. Seriously? There is a major issue with the quoting system there. The old condo was pretty much door, small patio, sidewalk, street, a car, then the truck. My new house they parked right next to the garage, which I guess was too many steps. They ended up crediting me back 1 hour for the complain, which is ridiculous, I still don't understand how a quote for service can be that incorrect. My personal feeling was the movers were nice guys, but I think they were new. I guess I was the lucky customer who got to pay full price to have trainees do the move. So just a heads for everyone to beware! If management sees this review, I do not feel like talking to you again. A bad review should not be the motivation for you to do the right thing, the right thing should be done regardless. read more

We hired All Star Movers to move us from our current home to our new home about 20 minutes away. We moved the contents and they moved the furniture. We have a split level house, so there are multiple sets of stairs with furniture that needed moving on all levels. Miguel and his crew came to move us and they were great!
