This was the first time we had decided to use movers (despite me trying in years' past), and I will forever be indebted to All Together Moving for getting me my "I told you so" moment when my boyfriend later admitted it was the best decision. Aside from validating my clear intellectual superiority (which turned out to be just a fleeting moment in time), they did a fantastic job moving all of our stuff. So much stuff. The worst was a couch that had a very dark prognosis of making it through the narrow doorway. To find out if it would work, it would require them going up 3 flights of stairs to potentially have to turn it right around and accept defeat that it would not fit. Zachariah (did I spell that right? Is that your name? You know who you are) went over the pros and cons with me and did a great job of keeping it real (the amount of time bringing it up the stairs + multiple attempts + removing surrounding doors/hw + potentially bringing it back down might add up to the same cost as a new couch) all while reiterating that they were happy to give it a try if we wanted. And honestly, they were legitimately happy to do it! Professional movers are interesting characters because you could not pay me enough money to even pretend to want to try that. Anyway. I hated that couch and was pretty jazzed to have a solid argument to burn it. My boyfriend "had a feeling" it would work. I felt like the movers and I were going to have a real bonding moment when it inevitably would not fit, and be best buds forever, all going back to this moment. Lo and behold, the couch from hell warped itself to just barely fit, and just like that my intellectual superiority was snatched away, and he had his own, very satisfying, "I told you so" moment. The rest of the move went smoothly and they were diligent about placing things exactly where we wanted them, assembling furniture with care, and striking the perfect balance of thoughtful efficiency: not careless but not stretching out the clock for a higher bill. All Together Movers saved my relationship and made moving day actually enjoyable. We had 3 guys come help us move out of a 1 bedroom They were on-time and hard working during the whole move. They had to navigate through narrow hallways and a small elevator, but they did great. We were very impressed with their work ethic. They packaged everything well and made sure our large items were well padded. The guys were very nice and took care not to damage my things. However they did damage two of my items--one had very minor damage (a few lost pieces); the other a bit more major (they drilled a whole in my desk while reassembling it). Zach said he would fix anything he broke but became agitated when I told him that a few pieces of my bookshelf may have fallen off in the truck. He did find a few pieces in the truck and I ultimately told him not to worry about it. But more important than either of these bits is the fact that they gave a quote over the phone (something that seemed convenient at the time but proved problematic for both of us), then showed up 3 hours late and couldn't finish the job because they were "tired and had to get up at 6am for another move". The move ended up costing me twice as much as they quoted over the phone and taking twice as many days. Bottom line: Use these guys if you have a small apartment and a lot of time. They are nice but there are only 2 of them and a small truck, and that does mean that things take more time. Their rates are reasonable but have them come out to your home and give the quote to ensure they know what they're bidding on and you know what you'll ultimately have to pay. read more

These guys are rockstars. The first point in their favor is that Zach actually got back to me right away, which is more than I can say about some of the other places we contacted, who never called me back at all. My boyfriend and I were moving from two locations to one, so we were concerned about some of the logistics of this, but Zach and Eric handled it with ease. After loading up my place, we stopped at the new apartment, only to find that I was missing an essential key and couldn't actually get into the apartment. They made the best of it by unloading as much as they could into an alcove by our door and then, while my boyfriend went to get our landlord and the correct key, we went to his house and they were able to load all of his stuff into their trailer, despite some of my large furniture still being in there. Once back, they busted their asses lugging the rest of our stuff up the stairs and into our place, finishing the entire thing in 4 hours. Their prices are incredibly reasonable for the amount of care and effort they put in and definitely worthwhile, considering it probably would have taken us twice as long and ended in a trip to the hospital. The last time I moved I couldn't get most movers to give me a bid because it was a one-bedroom, local move. This time I went to Yelp and to friends. All Together Moving was highly recommended by a friend who moved twice recently. Then I went to Yelp to make certain and I emailed them on a weekend with questions. I received a reply within hours and Zach was able to confirm our date - which was only two and a half weeks away! Both Zach and Dan were courteous and efficient. They moved our entire three-bedroom house and all of it's contents (I'm a self-confessed third-generation packrat) without any problems. We were worried that we might have to leave behind the four foot high ceramic planters with the rosebushes which we dearly loved, but they were no problem for All Together Moving! My coffee table fell apart during the move - it'd been threatening to fall apart for awhile. Zach was able to repair it when he got it to the new house! We were amazed and grateful. My husband and I both feel that they were reasonably priced for the quality of work that they do. The other two bids we had were higher. If we do have to move again, we know who to call! read more

They were careful with our belongings which was extra good since I hadn't really packed things well. And now that I've unpacked, not a single thing broke during the move (which would have been my fault but still....). They unloaded and put everything where it needed to go and were more than willing to move things if I wanted. I wish I could give these guys a better review, because they were very nice, and careful with our stuff, and they're a local independent business. The positives: friendly guys (Dan and another guy whose name I didn't catch), arrived on time, we were able to book them fairly last minute (about a weeks' notice). Their truck was clean and well-maintained (though its only marking was an 8.5x11 piece of paper taped to the side). The not-so-positives: -- They didn't bring a big enough truck. We had a slightly complicated move, in that we were moving my apartment and my boyfriend's separate apartment into one new apartment. We told them this when we booked, and they assured us it would be no problem to do in one truck. However, the truck they brought was just too small. In the end, they got most of my boyfriend's stuff in, but only half of my boxes. We ended up having to move the rest of the boxes ourselves because . . . -- They booked another move too close to ours. Even if we'd wanted them to (and we didn't -- see below), they wouldn't have been able to do another trip, because they were in a rush to get to their second move of the day. -- These guys were sloooooow. I've had movers at least 5 times in the past few years, and they are usually WAY faster. They spent a LOT of time tetris-ing stuff around in the truck trying to make it fit (which would have been saved had they brought the right size truck to begin with). But even beyond that, they moved boxes at a snail's pace and seemed to spend a lot of time down at the truck doing I'm not sure what. We decided not to even push these guys to do a second load and just got a few friends to help us with the rest of the boxes. Our friends were able to move boxes twice as fast as the movers. -- Even though all of our boxes were labeled by room, a great number of them did not end up in the right place. And the boxes weren't neatly stacked in the rooms - just put down wherever. So, in summary, we paid over $500 for movers that didn't actually finish the job and did kind of lousy work on what they did finish. Very frustrating. It looks like our experience was not the norm for them, but we're not likely to use these guys again. read more

I watched Zachariah move a couch from my place (I was selling it to someone else and they paid AllTogetherMoving to move it for a flat rate), and immediately knew who I was going to ask for my next move. They were careful, wrapped the furniture when needed, and took good care of everything. When my actual movers came, they were just as courteous and careful as Zachariah. They had no moves later on that day, but were still efficient about the move, showed up on time, and only billed me for ACTUAL move time (not like Starving Students which charges you from the second they arrive to the second they call in complete). I see a bunch of people whining (above movers in general) about them going slowly and spending too much time in the truck. You just have to trust these guys. They pace themselves because they're human beings, and they spend time in the truck making sure everything fits properly, is tied down exactly right, and won't damage anything else if there's a tight turn. Compared to starving students, these guys (a) charged less (b) charged more fairly for their time (c) were more efficient (d) actually used furniture pads (!) (why doesn't Starving Students do this?!) (e) felt more trustworthy. Though this is anecdotal for me: They moved my 1-bedroom-sized amount of furniture and stuff (I have a lot of stuff and heavy furniture), first down from the second floor of my old place and into the truck, and then into my first-floor new apartment for about $375. The entire move, from opening the back of the truck to closing it for good, took 4.0 hours. Highly recommended. Give these guys your business and you won't regret it. read more

A solid pair of guys from All Together made it to my place and moved me for way less than I was expecting! We moved from a modern apartment building into a first floor walk up, and these guys busted their humps to get all my stuff up the new stairs carefully and precisely where I wanted the stuff to go. They were also super careful with how they were moving my stuff, being sure to stay away from walls and not scuff the hardwood floors in my new place. The movers (Rob an Tanny) arrived at 8:30 in the window of time I was expecting them. They were very pleasant and polite and got to work right after they understood the scope of the move. Even though they had confirmed in our email chain, they did NOT bring 2 wardrobe boxes which created a bit of last minute packing for me. Also, they did not pack one mattress in a plastic mattress cover. Our entire move included only piece of furniture - our six drawer dresser that had to be placed in our bedroom on the second floor. The movers were unable to take it up after 15 mins of trying and in that process they badly dinged the plaster on the wall and created two big gaping holes. They did not even try to remove the handrail which could have enabled them to take the dresser up. Rob offered to come (either himself or owner of the company which I am assuming is Zach) back the following week and fix it. It has been one month since we moved and I have not heard from either him or their office even after sending them an email. We did not deduct any payment from the amount and even tipped the movers. They assured us many times they will come back to patch the wall and even noted on the receipt they gave us. We regret not deducting a significant amount of their payment. read more

These guys were incredible. Fin and Rob were so polite, professional, and really patient with my kids, even. They had to move a piano down a steep ramp, across a street, down the block, and into my living room. They did it with such care and concern for my stuff, that I really felt like they were members of my family. I couldn't believe how careful they were -- really watching out for my hardwood floor, gently setting down boxes, and then jogging..... yes, literally jogging back to the truck to unload some more. I can't say enough about them. If you're lucky enough to find these guys are available for your move, book them immediately before their schedule fills up. All the rave reviews on here are true! We just hired these guys to move all our furniture from our 1 bedroom condo to our 2 bedroom apt (with multiple stair ways). Zach and company arrived within their specified window and were very professional and speedy. The whole move was finished in a matter of hours. They even unassembled our bed entirely in order to fit it up the VERY narrow stair case and reassembled it once they managed to get all the pieces up. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for professional movers. Their rates are more than reasonable, as you will probably find if you call around to other competitors. Seriously, the most courteous and professional business I have experienced in a while. They rocked it and our move included "the beast" - a three hundred pound bar that they had to take down stairs. Not once was there a complaint, or even a derogatory word. In fact, Zach said as he was muscling the beast down the stairs of my apartment, "nice piece." These guys are AWESOME! Zach and Dan packed and moved me 3 times in 2 weeks - total chaos from mold and chemical environments.
