We made a last minute dinner reservation on a Wednesday night and were fortunate to find a table for two at 9pm. Allegro is located inside the Wynn, just a short walk from Encore where we stayed. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We were seated promptly at a table towards the back of the dining room. The restaurant was very busy, but the staff didn't miss a beat. We ordered the following (items and prices reflect the November 2022 offerings): Espresso martini Grilled octopus $24 Linguine with clams $38 Herb crusted branzino $49 Dessert The espresso martini was good, but a one and done for me. We started with the grilled octopus which came with roasted bell peppers, fingerling potatoes, gaeta olives and more. The combination was unique, but it worked. The octopus was perfectly chewy. Hubs and I split the linguine with clams and the branzino. We let our server know that we would be splitting the branzino and the kitchen graciously split our order into two plates, which we really appreciated. Since we dined back in November, I don't recall exactly what was in the branzino or the linguine. Allegro's menu is seasonal. What I do remember is that both entrees were delicious. I especially liked the branzino, but we also haven't met a branzino we didn't like! We ended the meal on a sweet note; dessert! Again, I don't remember the name, but it was like a creme brulee pie paired with ice cream. It was fantastic. The portions were generous and great for sharing. On my recent stay last week at The Wynn, I was transfixed by the view of The Sphere outside my room window...which made me miss prime dinner hour, including an opportunity that night to dine at Sinatra (which closes at 10pm during the week). Was happy to discover Allegro is open late (1am on weekdays, even later on Fri/Sat) so booked a reservation at 11pm for a solo dinner. I was surprised how packed it was down there, bustling with energy. Even with that, everything was so balanced and excellent: service, food, flow of dinner. The vibe is definitely more casual there and the menu prices a little easier on the pocket (comparative to others in the resort) but that doesn't mean the quality is compromised. I had the Lobster Fra Diavolo and remarked to my server how surprised I was how generous they are with the portions of lobster and shrimp. Really hit the spot, as was the tiramisu he recommended for dessert. The pizzas I saw on other tables looked like hits as well- they also seemed generous in portion. Speaking of my server, shout out to Joe. Again, given how busy it was, he was attentive, kind, and did not steer me the wrong way. I also found it interesting that, although I did not opt-in, he did say that should I have wanted any modifications i.e. subbing a different pasta into my dish ((which came with garganelli pasta), that would not be an issue with the kitchen. I also had to ask for salt, pepper and a pound of cheese to fix the soup. their menu is like "squid meatballs with a seagull reduction sauce...deconstructed so you can go f-yourself..." Something like that. I was also sat next to a table with a screaming baby...at 11pm on a Saturday night. Cool. I usually hit up Allegro when I'm staying at the Encore. They have a good selection of beer and wine as well as a full bar. I've had both their pizza and pasta, all of which are just outstanding. We have been back to Allegro several times since my first review and I can honestly say it never disappoints. We started with a white prosciutto and arugula pizza and the burrata caprese salad. We started off with the calamari which was excellent. For my meal I had the rigatoni and meatballs. My spouse had the chicken Parmesan which was as big as a pizza. We split a Caesar salad and also ordered the prosciutto and mozzarella plate which was pretty good. A very large portion of prosciutto and mozzarella. I opted for the risotto and fruit de mer (shellfish and octopus) and my dining partner opted for branzino . My dining partner thought the risotto was undercooked, I thought not. We were so full from the bread, salad and prosciutto that I only ate all the shellfish and my partner only had a small piece of the fish. All in all a pretty good meal. We shared Prosciutto& mozzarela platter, he had most of the salami , I eat the chees and bread , he order chicken parmigiana with out the parmigiana. I orderd the wild boar ragu. I was mostly empressed about the prosciutto arrangements and size, I felt we didnt need to order anything else. Danielle was our server, very good at what she does, attentive with a nice soft smile each time she passe by. We loved all the 3 dishes we ordered, the value seems right ! Well we both took leftovers home. We loved the ambience! Its loud but everything in Vegas is loud so didnt mind that. The service was fairly quick for the time I ate (12am). Although it looks small on the outside it's pretty spacious in terms of seating. The menu is fairly varied in terms of Italian fare and I ordered the charred octopus and calamari as well as the Lobster Fra Diavolo. Both were excellent, the pasta was a delight and totally hits the comfort food itch if you were looking for some Italian style dishes. A decent experience with reasonable prices (for Vegas), the dishes are certainly not lacking as well as the service. Decided to try this place out as the menu looked promising. And since the chef was out on the floor also was thinking okay this looks legit! The service was excellent! Oscar and the serving team very attentive and friendly. I was sat by the bar so a little loud and they had ESPN on showing highlights I would rather an actual game Is on. Not sure if they can't play them as the big sports area a few feet away. The three stars are did the food. The food was just okay. I suppose I expected more from the Wynn. The bread is served cold with olive lol that has fresh parsley and 2 cloves of garlic. I prefer Warm bread. The bread did taste good and good texture. Have to smash the garlic to get more flavor into the oil and I would have liked a little salt and pepper on the table to add to the oil. The Caesar salad was just okay. The lettuce had brown spots and pretty wilted. I don't think that was because it was grilled either which it may have tasted better. The parm slices were big and good and fresh pepper was offered and that added some flavor. There was plenty of dressing just not a lot of flavor. I also ordered the meatball appetizer. The bread on top was warm and tasty! (They call it focaccia on the menu but seemed like the same Bread from bread basket Warm and with lots of flavor! The meatballs were very tender but again not a lot of flavor and the tomato sauce was simple which I usually enjoy but again not a lot of flavor. Texture and thickness were great but flavor was missing. Sausage pieces were in the sauce and they actually had lots of flavor and also very tender. The ricotta sauce melted on top was bland. Throw some garlic & basil in there and some saltier parm and boom! The dish could be amazing. Overall it was just okay. I love Italian food so maybe I am just picky!
