So if you want a hood bar experience, then this is probably where you probably should be going…read more LOL. It's on Edgewood so you know you have to worry about figuring out parking on your own and most likely it's going to be paid parking. Now they do have street parking so keep that in mind but that's always the first to go so just keep that in mind as well. It seems that the food is solid so I didn't even try any food because I'd already eaten. Maybe I get to give another go on a good night and try the food to give it an accurate assessment but as of right now it was just a typical bar situation. You'll go ahead and head to the door and get searched by security and then you'll sit down somewhere and they'll eventually take care of you. I wasn't wowed by anything and it wasn't earth-shattering as far as service goes but it was a good experience. That's exactly what I expected lol. Nothing wrong with that though don't get me wrong, but it just was what it was.

Watched some people play bowling on Wii in the corner and chatted it up with whoever was working close enough. Easy in and out. $45 hookah grat included .. eh about normal in Atlanta. I like to look for specials bc I'm a loner and splitting this with no one lol ... i might go back if their is just something that grabs me but im ok. I WILL SAY people were walking in to order food. It must be pretty good. I had just ate though... might be a reason to spin though. Mm, hookah wasn't the only smoke blowing. If that makes or breaks your decision. Eh it's Edgewood vibes

Our waitress just dropped menus in our face and told us that she would be right back but we ended up waiting for almost 45 minutes before she came to check on us. However, our waitress helped people that sat after we did. I had to adjust my order because they were out of so much even though they advertised being open late. Mind u, we showed up to the restaurant three hours before closing. After we ordered we didn't have to edit too long for our food though. I got the chicken egg rolls and they were kind of cold and didn't taste too much like chicken more like vegetable. I also got the signature pho and I was disappointed. I had to use a lot of sriracha and hoisin sauce to season it because the broth was bland. They also had the cilantro, bean sprouts, jalapeño and lime already in the pho instead of allowing me to add it separately. Overall this restaurant had me wondering, was it actually good or was it just really hungry?

The next time in 2024 when I was in the area, they were closed for a remodel. Today was the day. The beer selection was fantastic and so was the food. I got the pork sandwich with greens on top. It was delicious, but it could've not had juices leaking so much? Maybe cheese below and above the meat to try to keep some of the juices off the bun or maybe more bun toasting? The fries were amazing and I should've gotten the aolie initially, but didn't get it until I saw another table with an order. It was delicious. The service was very good. The server had good knowledge of the beers, food, and was friendly. This is one of the best beer bars in the US. The Atlanta area is fortunate to have two killer beer bars, the other being the Brick Store Pub in Decatur.

The pretzels were burnt, the schnitzel was overfried, and the fish was a bit greasy. The deviled eggs were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. That said, aesthetically it is a great place with beautiful old architecture, solid service, and an amazing beer list.

The indoor seating is hit or miss as they have one couch that is really low to the ground and uncomfortable to sit on but the other couches are comfy. The cocktails here are delicious. They hold a jazz night every Tuesday with live music for a nice chill, yet fun, vibe. Just a warning, the space inside is pretty small--typically there's optional seating outside, but it's really chilly at the moment (although they have heaters)--but there's more seating downstairs in The Victorian Atlanta plant shop. I didn't realize that the two were connected! FYI, if you sit downstairs, you'll be seated next to where the live music performers will be playing, so it will be louder there. As for the drinks, I tried the Zombie. I loved it so much, I ordered a second one instead of trying a different one! It tasted sweet and slightly tropical with the rum and spiced liqueur. It also had some absinthe, which I was worried about when I first ordered it since I hate the taste of it (not a big fan of black licorice flavors), but I didn't taste it at all! Overall, this place had such a great vibe to it!

Ordered 10 wings: half buffalo-lemon pepper/half lemon pepper, 5 wings in Korean-buffalo with a side of chili cheese fries, and 2 Coors Banquets (cuz we're classy like that. Food came out probably 15 min after and I was ready to dig in. These wings were pretty hyped and with anything popular, I'm always worried I'm going to be disappointed. But OMG these wings are worthy of their hype. The flavor of their sauces is incredible and they hit that desired balance of crispy and juicy. The meat falls off the bone. Tell you what, I'll definitely be back. I've also heard great things about their karaoke nights so that's going on my list as well

The wings were all well seasoned, and even the dry rub wings didn't taste dry. It tasted tender and juicy and I've never experienced that before with dry rub wings. We ordered the lemon pepper buffalo wings, buffalo wings, and Korean bbq buffalo wings and a side of fries. Our favorite was the buffalo wings. It had the right balance of juiciness and flavor. I wouldn't recommend the Korean bbq wings since it didn't have enough tangyness to it and didn't stand out. The French fries are a must order. The fries were so crunchy, and they were still crunchy even towards the end when we were almost finished eating. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened on a Friday and there were already people waiting in the lot which was crazy! It started raining while we were waiting in line and the line got even longer. If you're planning to try The Local, I would recommend coming on a regular weekday or come earlier if you're coming on the weekend because the line is crazy. There is some seating inside and outside the bar. We got there early enough to swipe a table. There were people standing and waiting for a table while waiting for their orders. Service was excellent! Tables are first come first serve. Plenty of parking in the back parking lot. I wouldn't wait in the rain for this but it was definitely worth a try!
