I have been coming here for years & can't believe I haven't written a review before! So, here goes... FOOD: I have only had breakfast here and will try lunch sometime soon; however, this is one of my favorite places ever for breakfast. I have had the pancakes, waffles, eggs, biscuits, hash browns, bacon, sausage, rye toast--virtually everything they offer for breakfast & it is all great. The thing I love most is they will cook it exactly to your liking. ATMOSPHERE: This is small town home cafe. Always clean and a favorite with regulars. Come in by yourself or with a group. SERVICE: This is a family-owned operation and they consistently have great service. They are attentive and your coffee cup is never empty. TIP: Great place to take your kids to experience a proper breakfast and not a sugar rush like IHOP! read more

This is a cute little brunch/breakfast place in Allen, that I would never have stumbled upon if it wasn't for Yelp. It's not located off of any major roads. It's one of those cute mom and pop shops that has been here for ages. They were pretty busy for lunch time, but they were quick and efficient with service and food. The portions are huge and you can't beat the prices here. I ordered the farmer's skillet and my husband had the gyro with fries. My plate was huge and I could hardly finish half. I chose the scrambled eggs on top. There's a mix of hash brown on the bottom, bacon, ham, sausage, cheese, onions, mushrooms, etc. It also comes with a biscuit which was nice and moist. The gyro was nice and light and not too heavy, but flavorful. But what I loved the most were the fries. They were awesome!! I was able to munch on those even after I was full. Loved this place. If we lived in the area we would be regulars. We were seated immediately and the hostesses got our drinks within minutes of sitting down. The waitress was there quickly to take our orders. We got our food faster than most fast food places. I ordered French toast, scrambled eggs and sausage. It was all really good. The French toast may have been slightly undercooked but the flavor was great. My husband had the breakfast burritos and said they were amazing. The prices were good especially for the amount of food we got. The place was packed but there was plenty of parking. I'm still surprised at how fast the service was since there were so many people there. read more

Walked in to Allen Cafe today and while waiting for a table noticed some red flags. Social distancing between tables was being observed. Wait staff had masks but the lady seating people and shuttles food to waiting tables had hers on so loose and under her nose that it didn't really have any affect. Second we observed that the guy that appeared to be the owner came out from kitchen and was observed not wearing a mask at all. After further observation we noticed that the entire kitchen staff was not wearing any coverage at all as well. We decided that was enough for us and left the premises without any food. It's really too bad because the last time we ate here it was really decent food but if they don't care enough to cover even the standard guidelines then I'm out. Makes me wonder what they have been bypassing without the Covid-19 mandates. Trying to come out and safely participate in the world again but with this kind of behavior makes me even more cautious. read more

One of the challenges in Allen is breakfast dining. Allen Café is a great solution if you want to be seated fast and have a good meal. There's nothing super special about any breakfast place to me other than: Food should be cooked well Great service Clean No long wait time for a seat I've had a great experience with all of the above. I'm a fan of this place because they are always crowded, but manage to still get me seated and served fast. To top it all off, they are VERY reasonably priced!!! read more

This good old fashion diner offers solid and tasty breakfast dishes. Farmer's Market Skillet and Omelette were both amazingly delicious and they offer generous portions. So far, this place offers the best skillets in town. Service is excellent and food comes out fast and hot. Long wait on the weekends is the only drawback but it's worth the wait. You'll find me back at this place again. read more

The people working there really are what makes this Cafe so special! They greet you with a big smile, like your walking into a friend's home. The server's even reminder my husband's name, how he takes his tea, and eggs! The food is delicious, especially their pancakes! Has an old time feel, which is rare today. I highly recommend going for breakfast. Enjoy! read more

This place is great for breakfast. Good down home cooking. Real butter, good portion sizes. Pancakes are huge, fluffy, and thick. My only disappointment is they use commercial maple syrup instead of pure maple syrup. Prices are good. We will be back. read more

Allen Cafe in Allen, TX is a family owned and operated local eatery, serving breakfast and lunch 7 days a week until 3 pm. We serve breakfast all day everyday. We have been in business for 15 years. We purchased the old Dairy Queen Building and opened the Allen Cafe. A few years later we closed for 1 year to renovate the old building and turned it into what it looks like today. We offer a wide variety of omelets and we still hand make our hash browns fresh every day. We can customize any order just the way you want it.
