Wow this place was excellent. Went with my family (4 adults) on an early Friday evening (6pm) and left stuffed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was nice and the food was incredible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was also super friendly and helpful when it came to ordering. The table bread: excellent! Nice variety and flavor. And the bread was hot!! I loved the bun with poppyseeds- had a nice onion flavor in it. Thick cut bacon: incredible. Savory salt bomb in the mouth. A must get. Lobster Mac & Cheese: the lobster was cooked very well and there was a decent amount of meat! I wish the cheese had a bit more flavor, but overall a solid side Ribeye for 1: my favorite item from the dinner. Perfectly cooked. Cut well. Massive portion. I'll be honest and admit I picked up the bone and cleaned that off. Porterhouse for 2: huge portion and also well cooked. It's clear this place knows how to cook steaks. (Notice we only got steaks for 3- this was PLENTY for all 4 of us, with a few pieces to take home) We didn't get a dessert but they brought us a plate of berries and cream. A delicious end to a fantastic dinner. Will definitely be back.

I had a fantastic meal at Allendale Steakhouse with my family this past weekend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First, the restaurant is beautiful, clearly just built/remodeled.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Second, the wait staff was attentive (never had an empty water glass), knowledgeable, and even made some jokes with my mom who was having difficulty deciding what to eat. We started our meal with thick cut bacon and crab stuffed mushrooms. Both were fantastic but I am partial to crab so those were my favorite. Come with 6 mushrooms so it's perfect to share! However, the star of the show was the steak. We split a Porterhouse for 2 and Ribeye for 1 between 4 people. The ribeye had a fantastic flavor/crust and the porterhouse was very tender. Medium rare is the perfect temperature, but if you have people in your party who like it a little more done you should tell the waiter and they can sear a few pieces on the hot plate when it first comes out. The asparagus and man n cheese sides were good, but nothing special compared to the meat dishes we ordered. All in all, I would definitely return. It's BYO, which nicely saves some $$ for an already expensive meal.

A long standing restaurant who recently moved across the street from their old location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The new location used to be an old bank building.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great meets for sure!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Excellent food and ambiance![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We visited the new location and I must say it was such a huge upgrade![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now the location matches how fabulous the food is.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is always very attentive. Overall, one of my favorite steakhouses in the area for sure!

An oasis in suburbia! It's not Keens or Peter Luger, but they know steaks. Excellent staff, very laid back and magnificent ambiance. Bring your own drinks policy means you have to stop by the wine store next door but you end up saving money and the wine store is well sorted! I will come back.

Not super impressed. This was mom's choice for her birthday dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant interior is absolutely beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat upstairs and it was a little cramped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's byob which is nice because I am afraid to see what they would charge for cocktails. I am not cheap and have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the state, but get ready for sticker shock. This was beyond even Nantucket prices and I don't quite understand why. We started with the calamari (nice crunch, sauce was bland), oysters (big hit), meatballs and stuffed mushrooms (big portion but again bland). Three of us had the porter house for 3 which is massive (I did not indulge), my husband had the surf and turf. The lobster he had was ok and the filet was dry , he never uses steak sauce and had to use some (it looked like Peter Luger sauce but it was overly sweet). I wanted something light so i opted for the crab cocktail (massive and delicious, finally something good!) and a baked potato (all i wanted was a simple sour cream and butter. The sour cream is mixed with onions/chives which I loathe and a very odd tasting butter). The desserts that everyone ordered looked nice but I gave up on the food at this point. I asked my husband in the car if it was just me but he said no it was all pretty off. Disappointed and won't be going out of my way to return. My stars are for the staff who are stellar and the crab cocktail.

We asked for ranch, but what came out looked and tasted like a cheesy dip (as pictured- you can literally see chunks of cheese in it). We even compared it side by side with their Caesar dressing which was same texture, just a different color. Isn't ranch supposed to be creamy? The French dip sandwich was another letdown. The roast beef was super dry, barely any pink, and the au jus sauce looked like the last bit scraped from the bottom of the pot. Very light in color when it should be a rich dark brown. One look and I knew it wouldn't taste right. Then came the burger, which was so undercooked that the blood soaked through the bottom bun (as pictured). The waitress never even asked how we wanted it cooked. Overall, I'd come back here for a drink but I'd skip the food next time.

Everything was perfect about it - the caramelized onions, gruyere on top, bacon, truffle aioli, and, of course, the burger itself. The patty was dripppping with juices with every single bite and cooked to medium excellence. Oh, and those truffle fries that came with it? To die for! THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - Nada! MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Nada! RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Dined from 5:45 - 7:15 PM on a Friday and most of the evening crowd was older and there weren't many families with kids. There were maybe 2-3 families with kids, but they left by 6:15 PM. Most of the groups were groups of 4, seemingly catching up during a nice meal. CONCLUSION -------------------- = I was pleasantly surprised by the experience we had here. I figured this would be a super casual Friday after work/school dinner with the fam, but this turned out to be one of the best meals we've had in North Jersey in a while. Food, service and ambiance here was excellent. Wish they had .5 stars on Yelp because Saddle River Cafe is as close to perfection as it can get at 4.5 stars!

Located inside the Courtyard by Marriott, the restaurant features dark wood accents, warm lighting, stone fireplaces, and a spacious central bar that creates an atmosphere that feels polished without being overly formal. Whether you're stopping in for dinner, meeting friends for drinks, or celebrating a special occasion, the space strikes a comfortable balance between elegant and approachable. The menu offers a wide variety of options, making it easy to satisfy different tastes. Wood-fired steaks and prime rib are among the highlights, while dishes like the sesame-crusted ahi tuna showcase the restaurant's seafood offerings. One thing that sets Fire & Oak apart is its sushi menu, which pairs surprisingly well alongside the more traditional steakhouse selections. Whether you're in the mood for a burger, fresh seafood, sushi, or a hearty steak, there are plenty of choices to build a satisfying meal. The beverage program complements the food just as well, with a thoughtful selection of signature cocktails, wines, and local craft beers. A well-made Old Fashioned pairs nicely with one of the wood-fired steaks, while a crisp white wine is a great match for the seafood or sushi. Was greeted by a host, who sat us at a table. Duly note, I did feel a little chilly, but always bring my sweater for that reason. The table was set with a wine glass, and a water glass, and silverware. perfect for an eventful dining experience. Our server came over right away and introduced himself. My cousin also brought some wine with him- not sure if this place is BYOB (bring your own booze). We started off with Fried Calamari, Tomato and Mozzarella, and Zuccinhi Fritti. Food came out in a timely manner- we also took a while to look over the menu. I enjoyed the Zuccini and fried calamari! Finally we decided what we wanted-- I ordered the Zuppa De pesci, which was pasta with mussels, salmon, calamari, shrimp, and scallops. Some of the other dishes my party got was the scallop scampi, and some veal dish. I very much enjoyed my seafood entree- oh and the salad came with it too! I ate most of my meal, but then also took some leftovers home with me. Oh, and the server didn't quite communicate with me that they box the leftovers, but once i got the message, it was all good. Lovely atmosphere. The staff was polite and kind. The manager stopped by to chat and check in. The folks with me who ate the strip steak enjoyed it. It was tasty and cooked perfectly as they requested. That's good considering it IS a steakhouse. The negatives. It is not always the case that everyone in the party likes steak or likes every steak. So a good steakhouse will do the other options exceptionally well too. Particularly the meat. Here, they did not. I like ribeye. That's my favorite. They only offer a 24 oz ribeye, however, and since none of my peeps wanted ribeye (curses on them) I was up a creek. I don't like strip or filet. Didn't want pork. But I do LOVE a wedge salad, and few places have one. Steakhouses generally do. So I was quite happy to have one. Until I had it. They did not do it well. At all. First, the bacon... while it clearly began as a few lovely generous lardons, ended up four over cooked, hard as rocks bacon chunks. The chicken was dry and terribly overcooked. Hard on the edges. I would expect a steakhouse to get the grilled chicken breast correct. And the bacon is inexcusable. When the salad costs $30, you have to nail it. Could I have sent it back? I'm sure I could have. But looking at the neighbors' table, theirs looked the same so I figured what's the point. And I didn't want to be a Karen about a salad in a steakhouse. And I wasn't holding up my table's meal for a redo on a salad. At the end of the day, if you don't get something this simple correct, it is a fail. I'm sorry to say that. Truly. But it requires addressing. There are too many other options for good steak that do these non-steak elements right too.

We were visiting from out of town and decided to stop by 103 Prime Steak without a reservation and…read morethey still took great care of us. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was top-notch. The food was absolutely phenomenal, perfectly prepared and full of flavor. A special shout out to our server, Fabio, who truly went above and beyond. His service was attentive, friendly, and made the entire experience even better. We would definitely come back again the next time we're in town. Highly recommend!
