The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and never intrusive. We ordered the prime rib, steak, and steak burger. The prime rib was fresh and thinly sliced but a bit underwhelming in flavor. This is a partial review because the night I visited I was stuffed from earlier in the day. So I will have to go back to see if they get another star. To begin with the place is decorated like a speakeasy. Very cool. It was a little dim to read the menu but I got bye. Since I wasn't having a full meal I had the roasted bone marrow appetizer which was excellent. It was delicious. For dessert I had the roasted marshmallow gelato which was also superb. Their French Dip ($40; off-menu; introduced as an appetizer but can pass as a meal [for two]) was one of the best French Dips I've had -- I'm usually not the biggest fan, but this was delicious; I enjoyed every bite! (I personally enjoyed it more than Houston's French Dip, just to give it a comparison.) I got the Brick Chicken ($34.95) with sides of Charred Broccoli ($14.95; way too pricey for what it was but was a great neutralizer with less seasoning since everything else had tons of seasoning) and Tri-Color Zatar Carrots ($16.95; this was a little more understandable in price; loved the pomegranates' touch) for a healthier option. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the 130 Cheeseburger $21.95. Ambiance -- almost felt like we were dining in a 1920s themed escape room or traveled back in time with their decor, dim lights, and staff with mustaches. Made dinner reservations on a Sunday night for a Birthday celebration. Valet was great for the vibes, but very extra for that parking lot. Upon entering you immediately get hit with the amazing decor and hear the perfectly selected music to go with it. Our waiter Alex C. was great. On top of our order. We started off with some cocktails. Tito's Dirty martini and Southern Gravity. The Southern Gravity with the Buffalo trace was amazing. One of the best mixed bourbon cocktails I've ever had. I followed up with a Red Blend by Lion Tamer. I wish they had showed me the bottle before pouring. I expected it from them. And for my second glass, they reused the same glass. Should've been another glass IMO. Same glass refills at Houlihans, not here. We started off with the Little Gem Caesar Salad. It was fantastic. There is a reason everyone gets this. Look at that picture. In between courses, the table was crumbed. Fantastic. Who wants a dirty table? For the mains: 10 oz Filet (used to be a 12oz according to their current and old menu) & 22oz Dry Aged Ribeye. Both steaks were cooked beautifully. Fillet was a tad rare for medium, but it was cooked perfectly as far as a filet should be. Ribeye was as expected. The touch i appreciated was the side salt with it. I'm a big salt guy. That was key for me. Sides: Charred Broccoli, amazing. Tri color carrots, beautifully plated and were delicious. Truffle Mac & Cheese, very good, just a bit too much truffle for me. It's extremely cheesy (Only thing we didn't finish). The table was crumbed again. Amazing. For dessert: Brownie with Banana ice cream on top. It's a brownie with ice cream. Always good. Single Espresso, that's how an espresso should come to the table. With a little cookie to dunk too? Perfect. The 130 Club is the perfect place for a celebration and a night out. 130 Club was a top notch experience! My husband and I went for my birthday and i was raving about it the whole car ride home. The setting gives off speakeasy vibes and has a limited amount of tables- very cozy and intimate. Service was impeccable - they even brought over a stool to put my purse on! We started with the roasted bone marrow which was so good! Salty, paired with the onion marmalade- so flavorful. We also got the Caesar salad which was massive and had a lemony taste which may not be for some, but we devoured it. I had pre-ordered the French dip, my husband did not. However, our server presented it as a special and my husband was able to order it on the spot. It was nothing short of incredible. Tender meat, amazing horseradish sauce, and au jus for dipping- so, so, SO good. We ordered a side of fries too which weren't needed given the volume of food we had, but the garlic aioli dipping sauce that accompanied them was excellent (not to mention the fries were perfectly crispy). Our server asked us about dessert but we declined- although it was my birthday celebration (which our server was aware of), I was honestly super full. Even still, our server brought out a slice of cheesecake on the house with was so unexpected and so thoughtful. Great place to go for fancy steak for a fancy occasion. The decor is amazing, feels very rustic and intimate. The main dining room is small. You definitely need to make a reservation. The waitstaff is courteous and attentive. You are forced to valet your car, or else you need to park next door. The steak is cooked to temp, succulent, delicious. Served with bearnaise sauce, but it has enough flavor on its own that you really don't need the bearnaise sauce. The french dip, a steak sandwich with dipping sauce, is offered as an appetizer but can be eaten as a main, delicious as well. The price point is high. Higher than some steakhouses that I have been to in Manhattan. $80+ for the cheapest steak on the menu. $110 for the bone-in ribeye. If I heard correctly it was $300 for the wagyu special. read more

The service was excellent and very refined, they even cut my burger for me, which was such a nice touch. The staff really knows their menu and made great recommendations. I went with the Pinot Noir, which paired perfectly with their cheeseburger (get it with bacon and egg, trust me). The truffle mac and cheese was rich but balanced (the cheese and truffle didn't overpower each other). The fries were solid, though I personally prefer them a bit crispier. But that aioli dip? The French dip which is very popular is really good, but I just tried the Salt Hank's and I must admit that I liked it better. To be fair, I think Hank's baguette bread is better but the meat can be debated. My humble suggestion would be that instead of ordering the French Dip have The Burger, is INSANE!!! Then for entrees we had the spicy rigatoni, the branzino and the ribs, what a treat. The ribs fall off the bone of how soft and tender they were. The rigatoni was creamy with a perfect kick and the branzino was delicate, balancing the whole food experience. Oh, I almost forgot about the fries that I finished the whole cup myself. They are fried in beef fat giving them a unique and irresistible flavor, super crispy and tasty. To top it off we had the Marshmallow ice cream brownie a la mode, decadent! We went here on a Monday night for a birthday celebration. When we arrived, the place was so hot I had to mention it to the hostess when I went to the ladies room. They did fix the heating. We felt a little rushed before ordering and were told we needed to be out by 7:30 though we were given the option to move seats. We opted to stay and ordered. They should have just put us at a seat with no time limit. Our meal was well timed, but the waitress never checked on us to see if we needed anything. My husband's prime rib was horrible. It was cooked wrong and he had to send it back. Most of it was inedible. See picture. On a positive note I did enjoy my meal. My chopped salad with machego and pear was great. My Branzino was tasty and well prepared. I liked the goddess dressing. The broccoli also was cooked perfect. Our drinks also were on point. The pasta was hardish and not that hot when it came out or that flavorful 5/10. The brick chicken was tender but again not that flavorful to me 6/10. We ordered a glass of Riesling, a glass of Old Fashion, and a dozen oysters to start. The oysters were delicious. We ordered the special the 10 oz. A5 Wagyu steak and Caesar salad to shared, and some red wine to go with the steak. The Caesar salad was excellent. The Waygu was also good but a bit pricier than we thought we heard. For dessert, we ordered the affogato but they didn't have any creamy vanilla ice cream so it was served with coffee gelato instead. The wait staff were attentive with the service and patiently waited for all the late diners to enjoy their evening conversations a bit past closing time. We had couple of their cocktails and their white negroni was probably my favorite drink there. She had mussels for entree which was amazing, the plumpest and really delicious mussels. We shared a side of well done broccoli (good) and the mashed potatoes which were almost godly-like, very buttery and soft and orgasmic good. My peeve was the queen cut ribeye entree (priced at $80). My dad was a butcher and I get how restaurants don't like it when you order meat medium or well but sorry folks, if that's how I like it, thats how I like it. Server was polite when I asked for it medium well and said the center would be pink but rest would be medium well. Gigantic ribeye and very flavorful but I couldnt eat most of it and had to take it home and recook it. Had key lime pie for dessert which could be skipped. Truthfully, I resisted writing a review for this place because I didn't want to contribute to its growing popularity in fear that it would be harder to nab reservations in the future, but I think inflation has tempered the difficulties since less people are willing to spend an arm and leg to eat out. I don't disagree with people that this is probably one of the best restaurants in NJ. The overall experience and the quality of food is comparable to some of the best in NYC. However, I will say that the quality seems to have diminished a bit since my first experience here a few years back when this place first opened. Compared to the first time I came here a few years ago, the quality in the wait staff has gone down. I still remember the name of the server (Matt) of my first visit here because he was so amazing and genuinely cared about the experience of everyone who dined here. The past few visits, the servers were somewhat annoying because all they cared about was pushing specials and expensive add-ons to pump up the bill, and when we didn't show interest, their attention level was noticeably different even though the restaurant was not busy. Additionally, the prices of the food have gone up, as they have at almost any other restaurant, but it's noticeable here because the place was very expensive to begin with. Their prime rib sandwich special, which is one of my favorite dishes here started out at $30 when they first opened....$30 for a normal sized hoagie is pretty pricey to begin with, but now, it's a whopping $40! Hard to justify paying $40 for a sando. Their specialty steaks run easily over $160, which were like $120-130 when they first opened. The spicy rigatoni, which is literally just rigatoni with spicy sauce, is now $32! It's very tasty but again, a tough price to swallow. Don't get me wrong, the food is very tasty although the cooking of the steaks have been a little bit inconsistent as of late. I think the star of this establishment is actually the venue. The indoor space is a classic speakeasy setup well done, and their outdoor space is a very pretty space that's more on the elegant side. Can't go wrong with either space. Hard not to give this place 5 stars, but the desire to come here is certainly diminishing due to the issues stated above. read more
