John tried to fix my Electrolux washing machine. He put in 2 NEW Electrolux water controllers and each one was defective. He would not allow us to reconnect the machine to the water system out of fear that the house could flood. That decision was greatly appreciated. He couldn't fix it unless we wanted to wait for Electrolux to respond to us, which could take forever. So we swore off Electrolux forever and purchased a Speed Queen. I called Allen's Appliance Repair to check my dishwasher shortly after I had moved into my home, since it wouldn't turn on. I checked the breaker and GFCI plugs to ensure I didn't have an electrical issue, and didn't find any issues. The technician spoke to me on the phone before driving to my home and made a few suggestions - I checked everything he had suggested, but nothing helped. When he arrived, the first thing he did was flip the switch on my kitchen counter, and the dishwasher turned on. Then he said, "I was going to tell you to check that when we were on the phone." I asked him why he didn't, and he shrugged his shoulders. Then he charged a $99.00 service charge - for flipping a switch! Had he told me this when I called, I would have determined that this was an honest company that I would hire again. Since he did not, I consider the company to be dishonest and will never use their services again. read more

I called on Monday and DJ was at my door the next morning. He even showed up a little early! I hate it when they give you a window and then show up at the last second! We discussed the issue with the freezer and DJ was able to get it up and running again in no time. He answered all of my questions with no hesitation and gave me advice as to how to maintain my appliance. He was friendly and knowledgeable and told me why the problem was happening. I love finding small businesses that tell you like it is, regardless of what their financial outcome might be. My husband fell over the dishwasher. He was fine, but the dishwasher door, was a little off. And when we ran the washer for more than the 1 hr cycle, it started to leak. Ugh. I called out Allen's Appliance, and he totaled what it would cost to replace the parts needed to guarantee that the door would seal again. That total would be more than the cost of a new dishwasher and that's exactly what he told us. Because I look up everything, I had looked up what I thought the problem was and what parts we would need to fix it. Everything DJ quoted us was exactly what I found online. There was no upselling or premium charges. He does charge a service fee to come and diagnose the problem, but I believe that is credited back when you do your repair. While we opted to not have the dishwasher repaired, I would not hesitate one bit to call him in the future if I needed any other appliance fixed. read more

Used the company once before, but this time, terrible experience. Tech came out, charged $250 for a simplistic repair, cheap part. Left, issue not resolved, in fact an added issue was now apparent. Tech created. Called back. Came, did not repair, in fact told me to shake?? the dryer when new sound occurred, was chaise. REALLY! Wasn't there prior to his initial visit. We had our dryer stop working in March and I was given Allen's as a recommendation from a friend that was a realtor in the Cypress area. Allen came out the very next day and fixed our control board on our dryer. He was very helpful and friendly. Our dryer stopping working again 31 days later and he came out first thing this morning. DJ and his team are the best! My father, sisters and myself have used DJ to repair our appliances and replace appliances for years. We routinely recommend him to our friends and neighbors. Today Jeff was out to repair our stovetop. Showed up on time, courteous and efficient. DJ often is able to diagnose the issue and have the replacement part with him on the first trip out to our house. After realizing our appliance installation was beyond DIY status, we called a couple of commercial appliance repair companies that could not come til the end of the week, before calling Allan's Appliance Repair. Jeff was able to come to our rescue same day and at the expected time. We had a dishwasher and range to install, which involved a bit of carpentry work. Jeff went above and beyond, keeping an awesome and friendly attitude, as he and my husband had to saw through cement board to widen the space for the range (we were replacing a drop-in range with a slide-in range, so they also had to cut out the platform). In less than 4 hours all is installed and good to go. Could not be happier with such service. We will be calling them for any future repair/installation. read more
