Very professional and diligent with covid precautions. We were told that the consultation was waived but I must have misunderstood. The technician Chris was nice, professional and gave us advice regarding the bathroom drain stopper issue. We then had him look at our toilet since it sounded like it was running and he explained we should replace the valve kit. His total estimate was over $300 in which the parts is less than $100 so we decided to try and do it ourselves. All we wanted was a quote from 3 plumbers. Thats what the home owner wanted. Allens plumbing is the only one that couldnt provide a quote. He wanted to charge up to use the camera and some hydro pressure something, and some other services. And refused to leave till we paid for something. He kept offering other services. We told him we are not paying for it and that the home owner will. So we cant pay for all that services. We told him we know the pipe is crushed so just measure it and get us a quote. Needed a new water heater for our home. Decided to call Allen's Plumbing and I do not regret it one bit. The best service EVER. Daniel Kapoi did an extremely great job all around. From when he first came to our property he was professional, very knowledgeable, courteous and hard working. It was a plus for us that he was easy to talk to because, as a female I asked him all kinds of questions and he gave answers that I could understand and explained everything very well. I appreciate that. When he completed the job he went over everything again and showed us what he had done. It was really impressive. The set up looked amazing. I spoke to Isiah to schedule an appointment. He was very friendly and efficient in scheduling my appointment. The tech was scheduled to come out between 2 to 4 pm. I think it was Isiah that called from the office to ask if it would be ok if the tech could come by earlier then scheduled. I was ok with it, actually the earlier the better. Ace called to inform me that the tech would be arriving in 10-15 minutes. I appreciated the follow up call from Ace who was very pleasant. JP arrived on time. He was very professional, courteous and friendly. He unclogged the toilet, cleaned it and put everything back in it's place. He was in and out in less than half an hour. Used Allen's twice. Both times I was told that there would be an $80 charge just to come to our location (Kahuku) but that it would be waved if we had the technician do the work. That was honored the first time (May 2021) but not during the visit today (February 2022). Called to inquire and was told that I the charge was valid. When I explained that I was told it would be waived, rep on the phone just wanted to argue with me, stating that I shouldn't have been told that and that the charge would stand. Greatly disappointed. Not only do I feel lied to, but the work done was a 20 minute job that took an hour because the tech kept going outside to do who knows what. $600 for 20 minutes of work to change a wax ring and flap on a toilet is highway robbery. Below is the email I sent to the owner Steve in which he never responded. I have to add that my technician, Daniel (though he was late because of his boss) was professional. "Aloha Steve, I am going to also submit a review on Yelp. Let me first say that I was referred to Allens by my long time friend Jorge Chong of Hawaiian Flooring. I called and made an appointment and had a technician, Daniel, come out and give me an estimate, which there were two amounts, one for approximately 2000$ and a member price that was significantly cheaper. I initially thought the price was high but when I called I was told I should purchase the membership and I thought that price was reasonable so I requested that as part of my service order and made my appointment. Keeping in mind that I took paid leave from work off (4hrs at 8hrs of leave accured per month) Daniel showed up almost two hours late. I called and made my complaint, which I was told Id get some discount that Daniel wouldnt see on the invoice. Daniel and his partner completed half of the job and left while I was at work. I also tipped Daniel 100$ in cash before I left as a good faith gesture. When I came home I realized that no one had called to schedule a time to finish the remaining drain repair AND there was no discount nor did I recieve the member price ( a little over 1700$). The following morning (Wed Aug 16) I called and was told that a manager would refund the difference as it was in the notes that I wanted the membership and then I scheduled the remainder of the work for that Friday (Aug 18). Later that day I received a call from the manager stating that I did not qualify for the membership, I voiced my opinion and still continued to keep the appointment with Daniel as he knew the remaining work. The following day (Thurs) I received a call from Cheryl stating that Daniel wouldnt be available and that he was going to be used on another job even though I was previously scheduled and had an appointment. I said ok.. Then later called back and cancelled. I then called Waialae Plumbing. They came out the next morning on time and completed the drain repair (widen drain from 1.5 to 2") and they did it in less than three hours for 600$. Their tech asked about the plumbing and I shared my experience with Allens, to my surprise, he said that he would have done it all in one day for 1400$, as thats their average cost for tub to shower conversions. So what couldve been a 1400$ job cost me 2400$ (1700$ to Allens/ 100$ tip and 600$ to Waialae Plumbing) not to mention my time off that was wasted waiting around for someone to be on time. Based on my experience, I wont call Allens again, nor will I reccommend Allens to anyone. Allen's Plumbing was called to replace the toilet tank hardware for 3 toilets. I was told that the hardware had to be purchased. Instead of going to the nearest store, the plumber went to a farther one. The 3rd toilet tank hardware never got replaced. I was told that the shutoff valve needed to be replaced. Instead of calling the Board of Water Supply to turn off the water, I was given an involved story about replacing the main valve. My bill to change 2 toilet tank hardware amounted to over $500!!!!!!! read more

I requested a quote for kitchen sink replacement and they said they have to come out and look before giving an estimate. when the guy came out he quoted me $265 from a standard chart. not negotiable. i had a quote from another plumber for $150 but he couldn't come for a couple of days. had they quoted me $265 at the outset I would have shopped around for another plumber. The whole thing cost $359.16 with tax and a supply line that he said I also needed. fortunately, I bought the faucet at city mill for $40, or it would have been $500. read more

Allen's Plumbing In Oahu. Never use this company. Lies, no receipt, grossly overcharged for very little work, repeatedly late for appointments, extremely rude. Contacting the better business bureau. The plumber (Justin) with Allen's plumbing arrived an hour late for the appointment. He located the leak on my Toto toilet, said that the item couldn't be fixed so I need a new toilet seat. For 15 minutes of labor, and picking up a new seat, he quoted me $180. Then, he claimed to have found yet another leak. Now the total was $360. He couldn't find the part. Now I need a new toilet ($800). Next, another leak in the tank. Can't find the part to fix that. After 15 minutes of research, I locate both parts he claims can't be found. Miraculously, he found both parts after my input. Now the total for everything is $460. He said it took hours to find the parts. I disputed the total with the manager. They said they will get back to me. No response. A total bill of over $550 was charged with no receipt. read more

However I did have a question for the office. I called 3 times and left a message to return my call. Its been about 4 days now and still no call back. It took a few days for Allen's to come out when I ran out of hot water, but they came exactly when they said they would. At first I was nervous because their office is in Maui but the service I got from Daniel and his partner was a excellent. They were pleasant & efficient! My hot water heater needed replacement and so they took mine away & went to pick one up for me and it was all done in less than 2 hours. I would give this company zero stars if I could. We live in neighborhood complex and in my building there are 8 units (4 up/4 downstairs). In the afternoon we had a knock on our door bc the unit below us had a leak in their ceiling. They concluded it was coming from our kitchen sink. I didn't get his name but he was a heavy set Samoan man that came to fix where the leak was. He was a total slob. He didn't throw his trash out into the dumpster (even though he took it upon himself to take our trash bag without our acknowledgment) nor did he put any of the items that was under our sink back. My husband gave him a cold soda and let him use our bathroom. In return he did not put the seat up bc there was PEE ON OUR TOILET SEAT!!!!! After he left (2pm ish) I was putting the things he did not put back under the sink, I noticed a leak coming from the sink disposal. Even though he was still in the company van parked in the lot, he only came back up around 4:30 pm to fix the leak. If this is how your plumbers are, I would not recommend this company at all.. bc this plumber did not have respect for our property. read more

Excellent customer service! In december of 2018, I called allens plumbing to fix my kitchen sink which was leaking underneath and the garbage disposal was broken. They promptly came to fix it by changing the sink, pipes, and adding a new garbage disposal, and all was done and good. In August of 2019, I noticed the underneath of my kitchen sink was wet again, and I noticed the garbage disposal was leaking once again. I called them to come and check it out, and they promptly sent someone out, and the guy said it looks like the garbage disposal had a defect, so he changed it and said it was covered under warranty and did not charge me anything, very honest of him. They deliver fast & friendly service and that is what I like about this company. First of all I hate that I even have to give a star. This company should have no stars!!!! DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!! I called them to come to my house to fix and replace some shower faucets and fixtures. The plumber comes out, gives us a quote, and says he has to get parts and will be back next week. Never came back, never called. We had to chase them down. When he did finally come back two weeks later he broke my shower pipes and left saying her needed to come back next week with the right parts. Wait... didn't you already leave us hanging for weeks to get parts and now you don't have parts. He left us with a shower that we couldn't use at all and said it'll be a week before he could come back! What??? We ended up calling Emergency Plumbing and Solar. They came out within 15 minutes and fixed our shower in two hours. They were AWESOME and HONEST. read more

We had Allens plumbing come to our house for a plumbing job previosuly and they did a great job! Not really sure what happened when we wanted an estimate for our solar water heater... I called early last week and scheduled for a technician to come out and give us an estimate on Thursday. Daniel came out with another guy and they came and inspected the situation, super nice guy, seemed pretty straight forward. Was told that he would put together an estimate and he'd send it right over to my husbands e-mail since they had it on file from the previous job. "Great" (I thought). They sat in their van for about 20mins.. I thought putting together an estimate-which is typical for contracting work-so they don't forget details etc. whatever. Figured we'd have the estimate soon. That evening came, my husband didn't get anything so he figured he'd call to follow up. The person he spoke to said they were on the mainland but that they knew the technician was Daniel and that they would follow up and find out what was going on. Friday came, no worries, just figured I'd figured I'd give them a call that evening to see what was happening.. spoke with a lady with a hawaiian name. She said she "did see that the estimate was pending" and that she was going to call Daniel and see what was going on and "give me a call back". Ok.. I thought- she was going to call me back... NOPE! No call back..ever. So I waited and waited... decided to try again on Tuesday to see what was going on... very nice guy got my address and said he "Didn't see ANYTHING in the system!" Also that he was going to "try and see what was going on and also send a copy of his e-mail to a manager with my phone number so they could get it figured out." Today is friday.. still nothing. Bummed that I had waited all this time on this company when I should have been calling around looking for someone else to do the job. Any plumber can fix a plumbing issue but can you really trust this company after my bad experience with them? This company has cost me over $550+ in repairs that didn't resolve a bathroom leak in my house that is still dripping to the first floor of my two-story home as of writing this review. My downstairs tenants have been complaining of a leak that's coming from their ceiling that started over a week ago. We let the tenants call Allens Plumbing to schedule an appointment to fix the leak. When the plumbers arrived, we had to pay the initial quoting fee and an extra fee to open up the ceiling drywall to determine the cause of the leak. First assumption was that the leak was caused by an improper seated toilet so we paid $350+ for the repair. The next day, my tenants complained that the ceiling was still leaking. We called them up immediately and were told they wouldn't be able to check the problem until 3 days later. During that time, I found out that the main water valve going to the toilet was leaking and the toilet tank's screws were loose. I noticed that the floor around my toilet was noticeably wet. I'm still wondering to this day how those screws ended up being loose because the area around the toilet wasn't wet to begin with. When the plumber arrived in our house for the second time. I told them about our problem and we had the main water valve replaced which was a $250+ repair. The plumber did not bother to check downstairs ceiling for further leaks so he left when the job was finished and paid. Unfortunately my tenants just told me that the ceiling is still leaking. Just %&*^# great. We specifically told the plumber before the first job about the ceiling leak but I guess he forgot or didn't care about post-repairs diagnostics. I am very frustrated with this company and there's no point in using them anymore. They'll just keep racking up the costs in repairs and probably end up replacing the whole bathroom. You call a technician to get your problems fixed but in reality what you are paying for is their trust. The problem with this company is that they know how to do the work but they won't help you sleep better at night. *Update 6/19/16* About a few days after writing this review, my tenants spoke with Allens Plumbing about the lingering issue and they sent over another technician to fix the leakage problem at no charge. The main issue was that the toilet and wax ring wasn't seated properly to begin with and so far we haven't had any leaks in over a month. I'm still not sure if I'll recommend this company after what I've went through. read more

This is the first time I tried Allen's Plumbing, after paying $700 to fix a shower handle and replaced a toilet flushing unit, not because of anything wrong with the flushing unit, it is just because I have to hold the toilet handle for a while on ever flushing. Ater the new flushing unit is installed, I still have to hold the handle on every flushing, this make me questions why did he recommend to replace the old unit. I had a major issue with my sewer back up on 5/2/15. BENNETT came out to help with the clog. AWESOME service. I am not knowledgeable with maintenance around the house. I am truly grateful for his patience with my questions. Although he couldn't fix the clog on his own because the issue was so major that a simple snake couldn't do it, he went above and beyond to make a call for me to someone who can assist. Not only did he make the call for help, he kept trying to snake the sewer line and even put a camera to diagnose it to try uncover the real issue. SCOTT, and the Jetter had to get called in! Scott came with his machine and not only did he unclog the pipe, the main sewer line, but investigated to find the root of the problem. He and Bennett discovered a crack in the sewer line. Scott even took the time to show me the camera footage in the sewer pipe and explained my situation. I really appreciate their patience, knowledge and the fact that they stayed late to help me even though they missed the Pacman and Mayweather fight! Our review on Allen's plumbing. Allen's plumbing is our choice for a plumber. it is a large company it has multiple bands that go out and take care of problems usually within 24 hours. They do have emergency service which they charge an additional $300 above what they're going to charge you for parts and service. The technicians are very competent and professional. I was changing my kitchen faucet. but I couldn't get the water to stop leaking, home mechanic at Large. So I called Allen's plumbing and they sent a technician out the next day and he fix the problem. I made recommendations to change the hot and cold water valves under the sink, and he did it I'm very satisfied with the job. They also have a long turn program which I have for my dad's house in aiea. which we can also transfer this program to my Mililani house which I will do later on. With this long-term program you have preferred rates on the plumbing services. I like Allen's plumbing because they communicate very well with the customer. and they do their best not only the technicians but also the people in the office to make sure the customers are satisfied I give them 5 stars. Workers drive their vans around recklessly. I live in Ewa. I always see their driver either on their phone, blatantly texting while driving or driving like maniacs. Just this morning, I witnessed 575 TVA west bound on Fort Weaver on ramp, cut someone out. He stayed on the middle lane, squeezed his van between me and the car behind. The lady was beeping her horns out. There was no space between, yet he maneuvered his huge van and made a 90 degree turn to the next lane. He continued to cut people off until I lost sight of him by Waikele. I get that people cut each other off, but dang this guy is beyond words! My job requires the help of plumbers, contractors, etc. I have been keeping Allens Plumbing in the back of my mind, but after today's incident I am never doing business or refer their business ever. If they can't drive properly and safely, you can not expect them to do their job properly. Instead of the vehicle ads bringing business, it is the complete opposite. read more

Very professional and prompt with reasonable prices! I called on Monday morning at 730am. An after hours representative (assuming a call center on the mainland) took my information down. Around 8am a local rep called me back and informed me they would check with the dispatchers and see if it's possible to squeeze me in. At 10am they called me back and said they would either come today between 2p-4p or first thing Tuesday depending on prior jobs. She said they would call me before coming. My third bathroom sink was backed up. I tried drano the week prior and it helped for a little bit but the problem came back. This is the sink where the central AC condensate drain empties into. Because of this, my AC backed up and the safety feature shut the AC down on Sunday afternoon. Mind you this is during tropical storm Darby and the 94% humidity was killing me! (the central air runs 24/7) At 3:30pm I heard a knock on my door. I was a little shocked because no one called but I was just thankful they were able to show up today. Daniel was the tech and he was very personable and professional. He explained everything in lay mans terms. Within 30 minutes the issue was resolved. This is my first time using Allen's plumbing and I will definitely use them again. They were called after I attempted to contact a few local (within Ewa beach) companies who failed to respond last week. One I left a message and the other I used the Yelp estimate feature. Called to have service done because all showers and toilets were being backed up by water and would not drain. Agents were really friendly on the phone. Was able to dispatch someone to the house a couple hours after I called (Thank God!) And our plumber, JD, did everything he could to fix the issue !! We are so happy with his service.
