This is a wonderful automotive shop, we had such a great experience! Unfortunately, my husband's car broke down suddenly and we didn't know any nearby shops to take it too. Luckily, we got it towed and this shop was listed under AAA. The owner of the shop was so friendly and attentive. He was able to diagnose the problem immediately. We felt really relieved to know the source of the issue and he reassured us that he would order the part. We dropped off the car on Thursday and were able to pick it up the next Monday. He was so nice that he had fixed some other things that he found and the price was really affordable at the end. I called the phone number and there was a lady answered, her name was Qui. Took down all my notes and she told me to her at the shop (Alliance Automotive) Upon arrival, there was no one to be found and all office doors were locked. Called her back again, she diverted me to Willow Glen Electric. Arrived over there, and she was no where to be found to collect my info and keys before service. A mechanic from next door SMOG check place had to let me in, and I had to re-explain everything that was going on. (the place was very ran-down) After when I got home and not being able to see anyone all day from the abandoned yard, I called in for the diagnosis charge, I kept calling in to when the estimate will be provided , and every time I would call, the lady who always answers the phone, would be always driving and had me on speakerphone. - NOTE: NO ESTIMATE WAS NEVER SENT very unprofessional to not meet me on site, and to clearly be always driving. If I was a shop owner, I would always make time for my customers to meet and greet them ON-SITE! to make sure they are well taken care of , if you are a small company. Customer focus is always #1. AVOID THIS SHOP! Trust me. If you want to know the details, look below. I brought my classic Corvette into Willow Glen Auto Electric (same owner, same manager) in mid-October 2024 for service related to a suspension issue I was experiencing. I had previously used this shop for the car, but I eventually found out that it was under new ownership. (NOTE: Almost all of the reviews here are for the prior owner.) At the time the agreement was to perform a series of suspension repairs to address known and anticipated issues. After discussions it was agreed that that they would also perform a number of engine repairs to fix leaks and similar issues, to rebuild the carburetor, perform a valve job, and tune the car. I eventually reclaimed my car in February of 2025 from Alliance Automotive (Also owned by Qui Nguyen and managed by "Mo") where they had transferred the car. In spite of the shops' manager (Mo, AKA Mohammed) claiming that the work had been performed and that the car was in good shape except for an alignment, it turned out that the car was a complete mess, running poorly, with the suspension work done incorrectly and dangerously and with the car in much worse condition than when brought in. They tried to get me to sign off on accepting the car "as is" when I picked it up and tried to represent what I had paid as a "big discount" from what they would have charged for all of the work. But they never performed most of the work and the work that they did perform was done poorly and/or wrong. - They replaced a single brake caliper without notification or authorization. - They destroyed the radiator shroud, broke the fan clutch and damaged the radiator and hoses without accepting responsibility for doing so. - They installed a wheel bearing backwards, causing significant damage to the brakes and a wheel. - They installed pully and suspension brackets backwards or upside down, neglected to replace numerous bushings they were supposed to replace, and failed to install numerous cotter pins and other safety measures in the suspension components they worked on. - They lost the mounting hardware for the ignition shielding and reinstalled the shielding dangerously, without the mounting hardware. - They lost or damaged several lug nuts, returning the car with 17 of 20 in place. - They damaged the parking brake. - They cut through or dented various brake shielding plates. - They completely screwed up all of the vacuum hose routing, plugging in most of it in wrong and in ridiculous spots. - They never rebuilt the carburetor or did the valve job, as promised and charged for, and they didn't do much of the originally agreed upon suspension work. In the end it cost me a small fortune to have a competent mechanic fix their mistakes, redo their poorly done work and to put the car back together. This mechanic did an excellent job of documenting their failures with pictures and descriptions of the mistakes. These were submitted to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair and were used as the basis for a small claims action which, ultimately, was the only way to get my money back from this shop. Don't make my mistake. Look elsewhere for a trustworthy and competent mechanic. read more

Outstanding Service from a Team You Can Trust - Alliance Automotive on Shaw Ave, San Jose A couple of months ago, I was having major problems with my 2007 BMW 328i. It wasn't passing the smog test, and despite multiple visits, my regular mechanic couldn't figure out why. We replaced several parts out of desperation, but nothing worked. Eventually, I gave in and took it to the BMW dealership, where I was charged several thousand dollars--only for them to tell me they still couldn't fix the issue. Frustrated and out of options, I visited Willow Glen Auto Electric on Almaden Road to deal with a separate battery issue. They resolved the electrical problem and, after hearing my smog troubles, referred me to Alliance Automotive on Shaw Ave. That recommendation changed everything. Alliance Automotive took the time to really diagnose the issue. After a few days and replacing a couple of key parts, they solved the problem completely. Not only did they fix the car--they also took care of the smog testing for me and got everything squared away. I can't say enough good things about this shop. Moe is Great! I'm very skeptical on auto repair places. Last year I was stuck in a pinch. My transmission went out in my 2016 Jeep wrangler stuck in down town San Jose. Had AAA. Tow it to one of their preferred mechanics. He took care of the issue dropped a reman in. A month into it something went wrong wasn't shifting. Of course I'm pissed. Now said bring it back he fixed no problem. Was a circuit issue completely out of his control. Bad part from Jaspers. Got it back been driving great. Had that notorious jeep tick going on recently. Brought it back to him. Great price! I'm ready to keep throwing money into my jeep. I love this car. But he was honest. Told me I didn't have to do this or that right now let's just getting it running good and quiet. I appreciate that. Honesty is huge for me with mechanics. I'll pay no problem just be honest with me. This is the best shop in the entire bay area. I used to live closer and have since relocated to SF, but this shop is well worth the drive every time. They are trustworthy and I can always count on fair, competitive pricing. Moe, in particular, is exceptional and goes the extra mile to make me feel comfortable. Was really rude on the phone. I called to ask how much it would be to take a look at my car that's not driving well. He said well I don't know I gotta look at it first , I don't know what's wrong with your car. .... That wasn't even my question. Of course he has to look at my car first to see if he can fix it and then let me know at that time how much it would be. I started to explain that it's leaking and won't accelerate well. Idk why he felt like he had to say it literally 3 times, but again he said well I don't know because I don't know what's wrong with your car I need to look at it, so I don't know how much it'll be. Agh, wasn't my question. I said that I understand he has to look at it first to tell me how much it could be to fix it. I asked how much for a diagnostics on my car, and that I know he needs to look at it first to see what's the problem. ..... He said $145 to see it. Jesus.... I was referred to him by a friend and honestly I was recently excited to go to him because she only had good things to say. I came here today to get my wheels aligned, as a walk-in, I wasn't sure if they can finish it in 2 hours (I had another appt), the owner asked the tech if he can do it, and they took my keys and got it done in about a hour. The waiting area is very clean and the couch is very comfortable. They have Keurig machine for coffee. Overall, the best auto mechanic experience I EVER had. As much as I hate waiting, I didn't mind waiting here. Parking is kind tricky, but no big deal. Highly recommend place and I will be a regular here, hopefully only for maintenance. read more

The guy I bought my truck from used to get it serviced here so I took it back for a check up. They put some new smog sensors in and it passed smog. The next time it needed smogged, I took it back again but this time things were not so good. Dean said he diagnosed the problem but was unable to fix it this time. He said it needed some cam timing gear that FUCKING FORD did'nt make anymore and that it would not pass smog. He spent a lot of time and effort to find this part including going to the junkyard to look for the it. He put the truck back together for me and did'nt charge me a thing since he could'nt fix it. I found Alliance via AAA, and checked the reviews on Yelp before calling. I left a message and Dean called me back within an hour, was able to squeeze us in on my requested day, so I brought my newly purchased son's used car in to get work done that another mechanic recommended from a used car inspection. That original estimate totaled about $1600, but when Dean looked at the car, he told me NONE of the work actually needed to be done and the original estimate was quite exaggerated (I guess that other mechanic thought we'd bring the car to him for the repairs...).
