Probably the best aspect of working with him was his communication skills. He was accessible, explained things clearly and was flexible in preparing a repair plan that fit my complicated situation. I also found him to have excellent customer facing interpersonal skills. He is a pleasure to work with. The shop is located in a facility with plenty of parking in a good neighborhood off or Almaden Expressway and the shop was clean and very well equipped. Was helped by Steve for a brake inspection for my Tesla M3LR. The car was making weird screeches, and Tesla SC quoted $2.3k for repairs for full replacement of rotors and brakes front and back. B&C looked at the brake life, it was 80% and nothing was wrong. Paid around $100, the free coupon for brake inspections doesn't apply to Teslas and should've been specified so 4*, but happy about the diagnosis and honest second opinion irrespective of that. read more

These guys tried to charge me 2 times the cost for parts than they cost. I did a price comparison and the same parts, same brand were more than half the cost available down the street at a parts store. They also quoted me at least 4 hours over on the labor. When sitting down to talk with the manager he basically told me to get lost. These guys are opportunistic and price gouging customers. Not cool. After getting an estimate from the dealership that was so expensive I had doubts about even keeping the car, I wanted a second opinion. B&C checked it out, and found very little wrong with it. They also identified some minor issues the dealership missed, including a burned out brake light, and a nail in my tire. Among the problems, the dealership wanted to replace the entire power steering pump, and B&C said its only a loose hose and a fitting that costs $10. I'm so grateful for their honesty! I've never been so ripped-off in my life. Needed a new engine for my 90 CRX. Tiny simple car, more go-cart than car, very easy to work on. This guy sells me on a new engine for my tiny Honda, $6,000 for the whole project. Way overpriced but I wanted it done right. I get it back and the car 5 days later than quoted, He says "make sure it does not over heat or void the warranty" I drive it and the thermostat goes up to the red right away. I take it back and explained it over heats, they return says it does not, drive home the Temp gauge is off the chart again!!! Obviously its the temp gauge, But I bring it Back 3 times! before they even admit there is a problem. Charge me another $20 to fix that. I'm pissed and ask for some compensation for the whole blunder of being incompetent mechanics. I talk to Ron, the owner, and he gives me a small speech about how Jesus need to grace us with forgiveness. Yes Jesus taught us to forgive, but I was overcharged for lame workmanship, I don't see the connection. I specifically asked for all the old parts back, oop Nope. Threw them away too! I could have used those part, and I did ask for them* I finally get the car on the road, new thermostat, and its makes a hard slam when I engage the clutch. Mechanic says it's because I need new motor mounts!!! Apparently they did not come with the motor swap! Why didn't they mention it when the motor was out? I again ask Why didn't you change them when the engine was out? Mechanic responds "yhea thats why we don't like working on these old Hondas" If you don't like to work on old Hondas, you should have told me that to begin with. They also replaced the clutch while the engine was out, 2 weeks later the transmission blows! Also my dry-cell battery blows-up on me a few days later on a long road trip. I call and ask "Did you charge my battery?" he responds Yep 12amp charge. IDIOT! Dry-cell Only take trickle charge. Thats a $200 battery you destroyed, and my weekend on the roadside fixing it! I should have taken them to small claims court. Severely overcharged, for shoddy work. Incompetent! Zero Stars! B&C you ruined my car & ruined my life & charged my life savings to fix it AND I had to fix your mistakes. Literally you Wiped out my Saving account & I was Fired from my job, from inconsistent presence from going To & From the auto shop to bring my car back and forth to fix what I had to return again & again & Again. It was a 90 honda CRX, how basic does it get *?! read more

On the drive back from Sacramento, I hear a funny sound. So I drop off the car late at night. The call comes middle of next day: "head gasket is leaking, so we replaced that and tuned it. Falls under warranty, so no charge" I say, "what warranty? The car is 13 years old!" They reply, "Our warranty. We worked on this a couple years back, so we need to make it right." I now live in Milwaukee, but still maintain a car in San Jose for when my wife and I are back in town monthly on business. Last week, my wife was having trouble with the battery and I told her to give Ron a call. They worked it out so she could drop off the car when she left town, and they worked out details with a friend of our to have it picked up. We arranged for payment over the phone and it was all just easy. I was really impressed with these guys. They were very friendly, and professional. They did an amazing job at repairing my car ('97 Miata), as well as finding a few other things that needed to be taken care of. I purchase my car used, and because of B&C Auto, I am confident that my car is in excellent working condition. I will be returning to them in a few months to get maintenance work done. The only downside was that it was a little more expensive that I had anticipated (expeceted about $750, cost about $1000), and took a few days longer than anticipated (expected 1-2 days, took 4). The prices for service are very reasonable and great value. The guys in the office will take you nearly anywhere if you need a ride while your car is being serviced. B & C is affordable and flexible- they've picked me up and dropped me off when I needed service. I had a 79 Bronco with Nevada plates thought I thought had no chance in hell of passing CA smog because it was missing pieces and vacuum tubes and such- but they worked with me and we did it, for only a couple hundred $. B & C is honest- they've always told me exactly what is wrong with my cars and what their recommendations are, and then let me decide how much I wanted to put into it. They've given me tips to get me back on the road in times of need when I couldn't get in the shop. read more

This is the one place I've taken my car that I feel totally confident that I'm not being upsold on services- the guys are great, been in business a long time, totally transparent about prices, and just seem like sincerely good people. My car has an insane amount of miles on it and when I first took it here I wasnt in a position where I could spend a lot on a major repair but I was expecting it would be a pricy fix (car was over 190,000 miles by then). They were really understanding and didn't make me feel uncomfortable talking $ with them at all. They said leave it, we'll try something that probably won't work but is about $20 and if it works it will save you from a big fix for a long time. I said ok, expecting to get a call that it didn't help and needed more work. But I got a very pleasant surprise when they called instead! It had worked, and fixed a couple of minor things , charged me parts and labor that seemed really low, no upselling. I've been back twice since but months after that appt and just for maintenance things and continued great service. Highly recommend. read more
