This is a long overdue review. I found Son years ago when I noticed his oil change sign in the median on Monterey. Looked like a good deal so I figured I'd check it out. He's basically been the only mechanic I take my cars to since. He has proven himself to be trustworthy, and his prices are reasonable. I've checked repairpal.com a few times after receiving quotes from him just to compare, and his prices have consistently been on the low-medium end. He's not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive and his work is quality. He won't rush you into a job either. Rather, he'll follow up each time to double check issues he's noticed and let me know if I can put jobs off for a while. I think I've put off changing some control arm bushings for about 2 years in fact. Well, he noticed that the bushing was starting to go, but it was about 2 years until it really gave me any real issues. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Son to anybody. As long as I live in the area and he's open, I can't picture myself going anywhere else for my service needs. read more

Sonny is the sole proprietor and takes pride in his work. He is Mazda Factory Certified. However, he can work on any car (I think even hybrid). He has been working on my 1999 Honda Civic EX as well as my 2015 Honda Civic LX. He does a great job at a reasonable price in a timely fashion. At first I was concerned about the parts he's using for oil change. I later found out that he uses Federated oil filters. It turns out that the oil filter according to YouTube reviews is very well-made. Previously, I had been taking my car to Firestone Complete Auto Care. Sonny will do an oil change at a lower price with higher quality material. Other things he has done for me is replace my driver side window motor in my 1999 civic as well as fix my leaking air conditioner for the same. read more

My car, a 2011 Nissan Altima, has a little over 50K of easy driving. The owner, Son, suggested that I get the transmission oil changed, as the recommended schedule is every 30K. This way, the CVT (continuous variable transmission) will last a long time, rather than breaking down prematurely and having to pay a big repair bill. He managed to fit the transmission service in on short notice and my car was done in one hour. He commented that the oil looked ok (not too black). If I keep my driving the same (not aggressive driving), then I should be fine with another transmission fluid change in 50K. read more

I came in for a full synthetic oil change for my Lexus which was about $50 total. The owner I presume was very polite and friendly. It seemed like he was the only one working when I came in around noon and to my surprise he started working on my car right away. I sat in the office and was provided with complimentary water while he swiftly worked on my car. About 20 mins later he was done, and he talked to me about the inspection of my car and any issues/ other things that needed attention in the future, I really enjoyed the fact that at no point did I feel obligated or pressured when he was walking me through the things he noticed during his inspection.
