$200 required diagnosis to tell me exactly what i told them was wrong $600 for a radiator fan i bought later for $80 on amazon $500 for labor that i ended up doing myself for free + $150 oil change they tried to sneak in returned my car to me without high/low pressure valve caps and components unplugged i'm sure it's worth it to some people, but my main issue wasn't with the price. i ended up paying the $200 regardless. but it should be the bare minimum to return my car to me with nothing missing haha at least the customer service was good : ) read more

After weeks of delays and no clear progress, they towed my car to their San Jose location, where Tony took over. It's now been over four months, and despite paying $5,000 plus approving an additional $1,500 for engine mount replacement, my car is still not fixed. Communication throughout this entire process has been abysmal. Both Mike and Tony have provided vague, inconsistent updates, with no real explanations or timelines. I have repeatedly requested detailed information about what work has been completed, but I'm met with excuses and silence. They've had my vehicle for over 120 days, charged me $6,500 in total, and I'm left with a broken car and zero answers. This level of disorganization and lack of accountability is beyond unacceptable. I got my 2018 Porsche Macan to Alvin's Auto Center for what I thought was a stolen catalytic converter issue. Anthony was our point of contact and he was such a pleasant person to work with. Once I gave him my farmer's insurance claim number, he synced with insurance & got the amount approved. Great customer service, honest work & it communicating with Tony (Anthony) was such a breeze! I highly recommend this place! I came here for new rotors and possibly new brake pads as well. I had asked for a quote through yelp and Tony was super quick to respond. Luckily, I was able to bring my car in a couple days later. Once I got there, Tony listened to my concerns about my vehicle and advised that they would run a full inspection just to make sure I wouldn't have to pay for unnecessary work and/or parts. I felt like my car was in great hands. The entire process was transparent and I didn't feel pressured or haggled at all, which I appreciated! I believe the system they had used is fairly newer to them but I was able to stay updated and see what areas of my vehicle needed attention based off their inspections--all at my fingertips!! (They also share pictures of the car parts they inspected) From there, I was able to either accept or deny any work/repairs that they found. The estimated costs per job was also laid out on the website system used, a virtual itemized bill basically. Super clear and easy to navigate! I've been to Alvin's twice now for my Mitsubishi and they have been spectacular every time. They're super thorough with the process and best of all very transparent with everything that has to do with your car. I will admit i'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to automobiles and parts but here they make it very clear what services they are doing for you. My tires were checked and the computer was reset. I was reassured I could make it home and was referred back to where my tires were purchased because they are still under warranty. My neighbor, a long time customer of Alvin's Auto Center Highly recommended Alvin's. While our son was visiting from Portland, his 4Runner began intermittently misfiring. Took it to Alvin's for a diagnostic check. His car needed the head gasket replaced. Tony, Alvin's son, is the customer facing communicator. He kept in contact during the 7 day process providing pictures and frequent progress updates. The truck has been running smoothly without issue the past 5 months. Recently the triangle of death came up on the dash of our Prius. We took it to Alvin's. The technicians diagnosed our inverter's cooling pump needed to be replaced. While replacing the pump, it was recommended to replace the heater's bypass valve, drain the inverter and engine coolants and refill with fresh fluids. While in the shop we elected to have a catalytic theft deterrent shield installed. All work was performed within 5 business days. We are a very satisfied client and wholeheartedly recommend Alvin's. Oh the original location is in Milpitas, our work was done at the Willow Glen location. Both locations deliver excellent work at a fair cost. read more

I had gotten service from here 11 months ago. My car was miss firing and then check engine light went on. I needed to find where I can take my car in. I did a search on yelp and came across Alvin's auto care and it was just down the street from me too! I was very stressed out! So, I called and spoke to Anthony, he was very kind spoken, told him my concerns and I was able to take my car in that same day Monday January 3, 2022. He and his associates checked what was going on with my car the same day. Although it was very pricey to get my car fixed and needed my car for work, I had no other choice or anyone to help. So I approve the necessary work to be done. My car was done by Wednesday evening. It is very, very hard to find auto shops that are honest, especially now a days and Alvin's auto care are those guys. They did a great job fixing my car. In addition I like how they diagnosed my car and sent the information either text or email along with pictures of the issues. I only bring my vehicle (2015 Jeep Patriot) for service to this location and company (Alvin's Auto Center, Lincoln Ave.) since I moved to California (4 1/2 hrs ago). Now, they are overpriced (charges are so high that the new guy at this location hesitated and was uncomfortable telling me what they were charging me for water leak and back breaks ( over $2500.00)). Now, my vehicle always sounds as if it's about to turn off and a lawn mower. Now, I'm receiving emails on services they recommended (coincidence, not likely). The last oil change here, I was charge $115.00 (my 1st coupon helped) and after reporting that I had a water leak, my water tank was empty , so that $115.00 is just a basic oil change without tapping off my fluids. Everyone that has reviewed my bill states that I was over charged, grossly. I will find another company with more reasonable prices for my vehicle repairs in the future. This is a family operation started by Tony's father Alvin in Milpitas, and they opened this shop about two years ago. I have a 2012 Prius V, and needed a head gasket replacement. Tony charged exactly HALF of what I was quoted by the dealer. Even SENT PICTURES of the engine being disassembled, impecable service all the way.
