Do not use. I moved with them three weeks ago. Movers were supposed to arrive around noon. They arrived at 6pm, two hours after the end of their window, without calling me to notify me that they would be late. During the move, they broke the handle off my door and also put a giant hole in my bookcase, which they tried to cover with packing tape. It's taken three weeks to get a response from them. I've sent pictures, called multiple times, and finally got a dude on the phone who offered to "fix" the damage. Ummm, no. I do not trust them to do this woodworking. Or to move my things. I'll likely have to replace it myself. They also cost about $300 more than my roommate spent, the same day, that morning, with New City Movers. Her move went swimmingly - mine was miserable. There are not enough words to describe how pleased we are with the performance of the crew of Carlos, Horacio, and Romero. This is an amazing group who worked very efficiently and at the same time carefully in wrapping and boxing our stuff to be moved. I went with Alliance Moving & Storage because Jeff was straight-forward with pricing, had a sense of humor, and responded to my Yelp quote via message fairly quickly. My move consisted of picking up furniture at 2 locations and unloading everything at the 3rd and final location. We moved items like an executive desk and credenza, glass display cases, tv, and some other furniture pieces. During this move, when we got to the final destination, the movers had let me know that a piece of the display case glass was broken. We were super sad about it but was told that the owner will handle the situation. The owner did, in fact, say that he would replace the glass and although I was very hesitant and did not believe that he would keep his word - he did. As we waited a few days to get our replacement glass my husband and I started examining all the furniture that was moved. We noticed that there were more damages that had been done during the move: 1) Wood chipped off of our mantle 2) 2 cracks on each pointed end of the executive desk 3) Crack in TV and found out the TV was broken due to the movers flipping the TV upside down during the move 4) The broken display glass We did bring these damages up to the owner when he personally came by to deliver the replacement glass for the display case. He did show compassion, took photos to show his movers, and asked what he could do to make up for it. Since we had a few more larger furniture pieces at the house that we wanted to bring to our store, the owner gave us a great deal on moving them for us. This time around, nothing was broken or had any sort of damage which made us very happy. I've never used movers before, but we just couldn't stand the thought of moving heavy furniture and what felt like hundreds of boxes from our third floor no elevator apartment. I rarely write reviews, but felt the need to warn individuals looking for moving services. I purchased a full service move from Chicago, IL to Washington, DC with Alliance Moving & Storage (though I never spoke to this company again once they collected my money). Roger (the sales person I spoke with) assured me that I was given an all in estimate and that I should use this company over others to prevent from being hit with later charges and fees down the line. After I agreed and they collected the initial deposit another woman reached out and attempted to up sell me almost immediately, stating that the initial estimate was probably wrong. Fast forward to moving day - movers showed up to the building (hours late) from a completely different company - US Movers (the job was subcontracted to them). They did their own estimate and asked for, you guessed it, an additional charge because of a short estimate (medium sized closet rather than large closet, medium sized cabinet rather than small - they said it adds up). I called Alliance Moving and Roger was unavailable and the customer service said they couldn't help me because the job had been farmed out and I had to deal with the other company. The other company offered to cut me a deal to reduce the up charge for the misunderstanding. Once I paid and they collected the items I was told they would let me know in advance when the items would be ready for delivery. About 10 days later I received a call stating that they would deliver the items the next morning. Bright and early I got a call from, you guessed again, ANOTHER third party mover looking to make the delivery. Once he arrived the man (who was very pleasant) let me know about the additional up charges he'd need - for space, stairs, and additional fees. He called and hired an additional set of hands on site to help him do the move. Along the way a few items were broken or misassembled but he assured me that these were the result of poor packing by the other company - US Movers. He let me know that he had another stop and was in a hurry and therefore unpacking and assembly of most items would not be possible. I'm happy to have all of my items and be moved in, but I would recommend that you choose another company to entrust the care of your items and a seamless moving experience. Best of Luck! read more

In our previous two moves, we didn't use movers and we promised ourselves for our next move we will. Being a family of four now (plus I'm very pregnant) we knew we needed the additional support to make the move as easy as possible. I can't say enough wonderful things about alliance moving. Very respectful of our things, so accommodating. We had to move our moving date several times because our house wasn't ready and each time they had no issues changing an out of state date for us. Make sure you have the right Alliance company the one that has Jaggy working/owner. There is another alliance company I think based out of Florida that is awful!! But the Alliance that we worked with is amazing !! The staff is super fast, like I said earlier we moved from Chicago to Texas and it was flawless!!! If we move would we choose Alliance again? I asked for a quote for a date they were available, they read the message and chose not to respond. We moved from Chicago to South Florida June 2022. In the process of finding a moving company, we got estimates from three different reputable companies. After going over inventory, and getting quotes, we decided to go with Alliance Rolling Meadows for the simple fact that from the start, the communication was excellent. We were ALWAYS able to get ahold of someone if we had a question or if an issue came up. Also, Alliance Rolling Meadows was the only company of the three we considered who sent a person to our home to take inventory in person, and Craig gave a written quote after he looked at all our stuff to be moved. The other two companies took virtual inventories over a zoom meeting on my i- phone. I realize people are trying to save time and money to default to pandemic standards, but when dealing with such a major expensive move, it helped us to know that this one company, Alliance, took the time to do this and as a result, less surprises and they got a feel for what the move would involve and what the logistics would be on their end-hand on CUSTOMER SERVICE. Realistic, hard working, people. The price was middle of the range but the service was excellent. This particular Alliance office franchise is well run and efficient with a high moral and trustworthy workforce. This was my experience. read more

I would not use this company ever again!!! Very misleading information provided to me, I was quoted $2300 for my pick-up /delivery they take a deposit and charge you 5% for putting the deposit on a credit card (most CC companies don't charge more than 1% these days) then I called to add a couple more items my total increased to $2700 when the delivery drivers showed up my total somehow got to $4200 I had to run to the bank machine to take out more cash, than the drivers forgot my mattress and Box spring when I called Alliance (which by the way is another pain so many departments and they don't speak to one another) they said well now we have to send out a new driver we'll need to take another credit card deposit once again (oh and charge that 5% fee), my furniture barely put a dent in the truck and I believe I overpaid by $600-700 for this move. Now i have to rent a u-haul and take the mattress so I have to spend another $300. i would advise going with a company who will come out and count/measure all your items before commiting. it seemed like my drivers made up this new price. its been almost a month still have not heard back from the Alliance staff on reimbursement, do not use this company. read more

Called and set up a mid month move to allow for flexibility and better choice of time of day to move my 85 year old mother. We were given a window of 11am to noon. At 11:37 I called to get an update. I was put on hold and then was told the manager would call me back. Received call a few minutes later and new time was 2pm. I scheduled for a midweek move hoping being on time would not be complicated, manager was able to get a new crew who arrived at 1:04pm. No complaints so far....they estimated 4 hr move...I didn't argue based on their expertise. We get to our location and delivery was completed. I had to leave before they were finished do to previous engagement. My son who came and took my place was given time of their original arrival and the move was completed at 5:40 pm. The lead crew member billed us for 5 hrs....management did correct billing to reflect actual time observed. They did do a careful job overall. If being on time is important....3....score Customer courtesy from management.....5 Pieces that actually we're delivered.......5 FYI as a REALTOR...When asked I do try and help with referrals. Movers gave window of 8-9 they called at 7:15 saying they'll be there in 30. 3 nice men. Came into the house walked through. Said, "okay we got this" I respect them as well, there was only one piece of furniture they couldn't fit into the our new place. These people are thieves. I hired them to move my household items from my unit to a moving truck. I was in my unit for the majority of the day as they moved their own vehicles into place to steal thousands and thousands of dollars worth of my things. They stole things I can never replace, things my parents gave me, made for me, collectibles and collections I've had for decades. In addition, they took all my tools, kitchen electronics, all my cashmere sweaters, crystal items, lamps, my daughters toys (from the 90's), clothes, cameras, priceless items, the list goes on and on. They were able to open boxes, sift through the contents, take what they wanted and close them back up (which explains the half-filled boxes). They loaded full boxes into their vehicles. On top of that, every piece of furniture was scratched, dented, gouged, stained or completely destroyed. I normally would leave very good reviews but this company has treated me like crap. I scheduled a move with them on short notice due to my pcs orders not been issued yet. Once the orders were issued the military chose a different company to move my goods and I called them and emailed them about 5 times without any answer. Finally a week later, I received an email, not a phone call saying my deposit refund of 1500 was denied back because of a 48 hr policy. I told them on their website there is a fee of 15% which I understood but to keep the whole thing without doing any work is a robbery. Terrible customer service. Do not recommend to anyone. They pride themselves in a military background yet they did not work with me at all on my orders issues. Not doing any work and keeping someone's 1500 dollars is a robbery. read more
