--This moving team is beyond awesome!!!! I've never posted anything on Yelp, so I hope this is appropriate ... maybe a bit long, but I want you to understand something -- we've moved 13 times in 38 years. We always hire movers for the piano and our very heavy bedroom set. This time we weren't taking the bedroom set, but we're older now and own way more heavy stuff, and need more help than the first 10 moves! --We hired them to move the big stuff -- lots of furniture, washer and dryer, mattresses and very heavy musical instruments (two pianos and a 76-key digital keyboard.) I was not expecting them to pack anything -- and maybe if there was room in the truck, they would take a few boxes that I had already packed. I already moved the computer stuff myself. I'm used to do-it-yourself. --We were downsizing from a 5-bedroom home with full basement to a 2-bedroom apartment. We also had several items that I wanted moved to my son's home - 20 miles in the opposite direction. It was not an easy project -- stuff EVERYWHERE that was NOT going on the truck. -----They met with me ahead of time to review what we needed and quoted how many guys and how many hours it would take. They touched base multiple times by phone, prior to the moving date. They would have been available ahead of time to help me organize and pack if needed. --They arrived on time, introduced the team to us and got started immediately. Strong men, definitely! Expert at wrapping and taping to protect items. Considerate and proactive, always looking for more ways to help. They really wanted to get us as moved as possible!! --While unloading the truck, they put padding down on the new carpet to make sure it stayed clean. They made helpful suggestions when we weren't sure where to put things. They didn't just bring in the stuff, they made sure we were functional -- unpacking wardrobe boxes, setting up bed frames. I had computer components all over my bedroom floor. When they brought in my computer desk, they picked it all up and put things carefully on the desk. --When it seemed furniture would not fit through passageways, they knew how to maneuver -- so creative!! They only took apart things that would break if moved assembled. Everything else they handled with such care. Not a scratch on the walls going out or in. NOTHING broke (except a light bulb that I dropped on my bedroom carpet.) EVERYTHING made it into the apartment (one way or another.) --Cost is always a subjective matter. I believe they are competitive -- you can pay flat rate or by the hour. I chose flat rate (which I always do), and got way more service than I ever expected. I was the LEAST prepared for this move than ever before, and it was the easiest and best move EVER. --My husband and son are not so easy to please. They were both amazed -- beyond impressed. So professional, so helpful, so careful with all our stuff. So pleasant while working so hard. (and yes, they did break a sweat -- it was HOT today, and no air conditioning at either end.) I would put moving up there with having a root canal!!! Haven't found one person that "likes" it, so when I set out to find a moving company, I already had a pit in my stomach. I had a custom move.... from a home to another house and ultimately, a huge drop-off at a storage facility. Who would be flexible and help me manage a custom route? Who could I trust? Who would be fairly priced? I started my Google search and ended up with the typical "big name" movers, none of which could handle my situation and ended up referring me to third party contractors that "they" worked with. Well, I was determined to find a company myself. I stumbled on Alliance Moving & Storage. I was unsure at first because of all of the previous questions I had noted; however, all their reviews were amazing so I gave them a call. When I spoke with Onesimo on the phone, I couldn't have been more reassured. They swung by my house, assessed what needed moving and had availability four days later on a Saturday to move me, so I agreed. Onesimo discussed in detail with me my plans and how I wanted to be sure things were packed securely, safely, and effectively as I was going to fill a 10 x 17 storage unit, which included very expensive furniture(and heavy), paintings, pictures, etc., that needed extra care. Well, I needed no concern...... The Team showed up promptly at 9am ready to pack and move me. I still wasn't sure what to expect, but 5 mins in I knew I was in excellent hands. They worked so quickly, but with extreme care, I was shocked! They disassembled my dining room table so it would better fit in storage, shrink wrapped each individual chair and did it at lighting speed!! The care they took in wrapping buffets, family heirlooms, mirrors, lamps, etc., still blows my mind. These guys worked their tails off!! They are experts at what they do! If I came across an item that I thought might be an issue to move, they had a solution for it. I was literally capturing their hard work on my phone and sending it to my friends and family. I still can't get over how great they are! I am referring them to EVERYONE, even people who aren't moving, I am telling them what an amazing experience I had. I also have to mention, that not only are they great at moving, but they are just genuinely nice people you want to do business with. I have never experienced customer service like that before!! I could go on and on, but I will close by saying they made something that could have been very stressful a complete breeze!! I will be hiring them again when I move stuff out of my storage unit. During the move I noticed that the guys weren't really wrapping any of the furniture up to make sure nothing was damaged. I asked the one in charge and he said "it's not necessary." After arriving at the new location while they were trying to take out my TV it broke. The TV snapped off the stand. They finished unloading, and took pictures of the damage. He told me he had spoken to the main office and someone would be in contact. The move was on Thursday. By Tuesday afternoon I still hadn't been contacted so I called them. The lady who answered the phone said someone would get back to me. 24 hours later I still didn't hear from anyone so I called again. I spoke to I assume the Manager. He told me he would check into it and get back to me ASAP. 2 days and 2 more calls later, finally he asked me to send him pictures of the TV, which I was told had already been done. So I took pictures and sent them and finally he ordered a new stand for my TV. It was Thursday 9/6. My move was Thursday 8/30, so I've already been without my TV for a week. He sent me a copy of the order confirmation. Already a week into this ordeal, they didn't next day or 2 day ship. It said it would be delivered by Friday 8/14 at which someone would be sent with the package to fix the TV. I called Monday afternoon 8/16 and was told the package hadn't arrived yet. Later that evening someone called me to say he had the package and we set up a time for him to come the next day. Finally on 8/18, after 2 1/2 weeks I was able to watch my TV. Accidents happen, even though I feel this one could and should have been avoided, but what bothered me even more was the totally lackadaisical effort to resolve the issue in a timely manner. Was I offered a partial refund or anything whatsoever for my trouble? Nothing at all. I would never use this company again and I would definitely not recommend. read more

This company saved the day! I had a horrible experience with another moving company I had booked with two weeks ago for a move this past Friday. This other company just kept changing my 'window' of arrival times, putting me off and off and off and then just stopped taking my calls. I was in tears and desperate as I tried to schedule and found that everyone that I tried was booked past the 4th of July. I called this company as a last ditch effort. I started my end of the conversation with, 'I need a miracle' I must tell you they delivered a MIRACLE! They had availability on MOnday July 1st. I was moving from an elevator building on the third floor to the third floor of a building with NO elevator My window was between 8-9am, they showed up at 7:45 and I was moved out of my old place by 9:15. I have to tell you that these three guys busted their behinds in the heat up three flights to get all of my belongings in my new place. They were done around 10:15ish. Javier, Frank, and Ricardo looked like someone had just dumped a bucket of water over them they were sweating so much. These guys moved in my Ikea couch/chaise, plus other heavy items. At one point Javier had three of my totes strapped to his back. All of the guys were amazing! As soon as any one of them put something down in my new place they ran out to grab the next item. They did not want me to lift or help in any way. I cannot stress how amazing this experience was. My only regret is that I did not book with them in the first place! Please call them. They care about their customers and they care about their customer's time and belongings! I will call them if/when I move again. I have already given their number to several people I work with. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Karmin, when I started investigating moving my grooming and retail business to another town. Although the move was months away, Karmin immediately sent an employee to my business to look over the contents I would be moving and followed up with an estimate for me. They assured me that everything would be seamless, and I cannot believe how professional, timely, and stress free the move was. I wasn't sure until the week before the move what my actual timing would be for the move, and I didn't want to have a lot of down time with my business; however, they were very accommodating to my schedule and started the move late in the afternoon, with a wonderful team packing up everything including a lot of very expensive equipment. So happy with this team. Very professional. Great Work Ethic (Zero scratches, Zero damage to furniture, walls, etc...shoes off at door). I had about 3 or 4 changes of plans throughout my moving day that had them moving items from Oak Brook to Lisle, Naperville back to Lisle, then to Oak Brook (AGAIN) and back to Lisle (the return to Oak Brook was due to a piece of new furniture that was picked up earlier and come out of the box damaged, they helped me get it back to the store and returned to my house with the new item. It was not fun for me, and I'm certain it wasn't for them, but, they never showed it. They took boxes off/outside to prevent mess--their idea, I didn't even think of this (took boxes away) put legs on my new table. Highly recommend. I have no doubt with all of the changes to plans that I would have paid double anywhere else for a less professional attitude and outcome. I moved from three Bedroom condo in downtown Chicago to a single family in Naperville, from the original call to the delivery at my new residence, the service was AMAZING! Three words to describe my moving experience - PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS & AFFORDABLE! I've used 3 different moving companies in the past 7 years and I can say none have come close to the service that I received from Alliance. These guys are on a another level! The movers were so detailed in protecting my furniture, they first wrapped everything in shrink wrap, then heavy blue blankets and finally lots and lots of tape. First allow me to say that Jeff was absolutely amazing! He was upfront, honest, personable and worked with me even on such short notice. Our move (for us) was to be scheduled at least 2 week out but we closed sooner than we expected and Alliance Moving & Storage took our request within 48 hours with no issues or hesitation! I must say, moving is high stress enough but when you have to do it in such short notice it can be a disaster. When I tell you Alliance Moving & Storage took ALL of that stress away -- THEY DID! I hired Alliance Moving & Storage for my move from Des Plaines to Morton Grove with an additional pickup from Orland Park. They picked up my new furniture from Arhaus in Orland Park then came to my old place to pickup the rest of my stuff. These guys moved my gigantic super heavy mirror which is about 9x12 feet and brought it down from the second floor through the balcony. This was done using 2 men. I was soooo amazed at how careful, effecient and freaking awesome these guys were. I know they're professional movers but i didn't realize they were this damn good. The way they wrapped my furniture with such care and skill i was so happy to have hired them. I knew i was in excellent hands. They got to my place and unwrapped, reassembled and put everything where i wanted. They were so fast and careful AND THEY CAME IN UNDER THE ESTIMATE. This was the best moving experience I could have asked for. I sent out a request for a quote to seven or so company and, in less than 10 minutes, got a reply from Jeff. He was very helpful in getting me exactly what information I needed and helping me get booked on very short notice (needed movers in less than 48 hours). On moving day, I received a call from Victor probably 30min prior to arrival saying he and his guys were on their way. They packed everything very quickly, making recommendations for what needed extra packaging and what didn't. Really great! We got to the destination and, because it was raining, they put down a floor guard. I had very few markings on bins indicating where they should go, but they were nice enough to let me know when they thought certain bins related to certain rooms (ie. kitchen items, bathroom, etc) and allowing me to look into bins as they were carrying them inside. The guys were very courteous, respectful of the property and my belongings and very efficient. This was a very reasonably priced move. Alliance sent out 3 guys for 3 hours and, in total, it cost less than $500. That was including extra materials they used for packaging. When looking for a mover to help me with a big move I asked around for recommendations. Alliance had great reviews from folks who took the time to pass it on. I actually couldn't believe how many good reviews I found - but I now know why. Everybody from Onesimo, Jaggy (who always called me to keep me updated and answered the phone when I called), my foreman Juan Nava and the exceptional guys who worked harder than anyone can appreciate. They packed and handled my furniture and personal items with such great care that everything came through like we never moved it. All the time they were working they also wore masks because of Covid. They protected both the home I left and the one I moved to and neither place received a scratch. They hustled the whole time they were here. I had 7 guys for 4 days each since I had so much to move. They all worked so well together and were just a positive group. Moving is really stressful and this company took a lot of the weight off my shoulders. Having 4 brothers none exceeding 45, I have never had a need for a moving company. I am a metalworker and was worried that moving my metal shop would be complicated and expensive. I'm so glad that Alliance moved my shop. Five minutes after I requested a quote I got a call back from Jeff with specific pricing for my move. Jeff responded quickly to my emails in the days before my move and even checked in by phone on the day of my move to make sure things were going well. My move crew was incredible. We found Alliane on Thumbtack and within the hour I had a response from Phyllis. She was extremely helpful in getting our in home moving estimate scheduled with Onnesimo. He came to our home, which was super helpful and was able to look at everything to give us an accurate quote. No other company offered this and other companies just had you fill out online forms (waste of time)!!!! He suggested the right amount of men and 2 trucks since we also had items in a storage unit about 15 mins away. Their price beat all the other companies. They followed up on the move several times and arrived on time for moving day. Our team of 5 men was amazing!!! They were quick, efficient and polite. We were moving with a 6 month old and had lots of items we wanted packed in a specific way. We also had 3 big wine fridges filled with wine to move. They moved it all so carefully. They were so wonderful. Everything arrived in one piece and put into the rooms we desired. They made the moving process so easy from beginning to end.
