Very bad experience with the owner.(Chris) It's been almost a year now and one of our doors still doesn't work. After calling him back out to fix the door, he got tired of us calling (I know- customer who wants their brand new opener he installed to work is so unreasonable.), he told us what we need to do to clear the error on the wall opener and the attitude in which it was communicated was not appreciated. (Reset it, take the door off track, program and calibrate it- every couple of weeks... Yeah, right.) He sent out one of his guys to replace the motor who was awesome, but after two weeks, the problem resurfaced. Now they're telling Sears that the problem is our garage door- that's the first we've heard that one. Working in the service industry myself, I'd never dismiss a customer the way this company has... I called in the morning and they were able to check my garage door by early after noon. This company does not try to rip you off by any means. They came to my house thinking they would need to change the entire system, but they first made sure the remotes were well programmed, which they were not, and saved me a whole lot of money. AND instead of charging me for the 50 dollar service fee, they changed my rollers which were getting old (10 years old) and charged me 100, no service fee. Only Motor is broken. I was told it needs to change spring and motor the total cost will $1200. It includes $599 for the new opener. After he left, I called him asked why the same model on Amazon is only $250. He told me motor $250, plus other materials $150 and his labor $200. Later I know, I don't need to spend $150 for the extra materials. All are included in the box. So I cancelled the service because it's too expensive. Then, he asked me $150 for restocking and showed up. After negotiation, he charged me $104 for doing nothing. read more

Friendly, attentive, quick, and reasonably priced. Over the weekend one of our extension springs broke off. I quickly got on yelp and sent off a bunch of quote requests. Alliance Overhead Door was one of the few to respond. They gave me a quote and as an added measure I usually call over the phone to make sure the quote stays the "same" (I mean why would it change). I got the same quote and the guy I spoke with sounded reasonable and friendly so I went with them. For the job, they were there on time and actually called ahead. They fixed both extension springs (most garage door companies will not repair just one ...I think for safety/liability reasons) in probably 35 minutes. This after checking the door for any other issues. The final price came out to $189, but I also replaced a couple of other parts that looked worn out (not just the two extension springs). Overall I felt the price was reasonable. I know as a DIYer it's a job that I would have probably attempted on my own, but with a newborn at home right now I figured I just didn't have the time to fiddle with this too much. In the end, I think the price was worth it and our garage is back and running (functionally). I should mention that all work & parts have a 1 year warranty. I think that's mostly standard for garage door repair work. Good luck! read more
