Servers were very attentive when I walked in and although they were not the fastest at refilling my coffee, I would say the service was good. The food was not. Eggs were cold and tasted a little like box eggs. Sausage patties and bacon were both over cooked. The English muffin was the best thing in the plate and that was even a bit stale. I was in town for a wedding and Allin's provided us with a wonderful little place to eat some breakfast. This place isn't anything special, just a nice local diner with friendly service and the breakfast food you want. We ate some omelettes with some hash browns and toast. At the time it was just what we were needing so we definitely appreciated some good breakfast food and friendly faces. Order came out wrong, took so long to correct the mistake the rest of the table finished their food before mine came out. Keeping in mind it wasn't a difficult ask, simply a request for no cheese. During the wait, had to ask for more coffee twice - while the waitress was busy opening mail and talking to the rest of the staff. Typically you would expect an apology and a percentage off. One of the coolest local places around. I took my parents here as soon as they move to Saint Charles and they both fell in love. Allins is just a great staple for the neighborhood. Everything is always fresh served piping hot. Service is excellent considering at times there is only one server covering the floor. They go out of there way to get you what you want. Great menu but don't be afraid to order off it. If they have the ingredients they will cook what you're craving. Case in point I ordered a hotdog I wanted it dragged through the garden. No worries except that they had ran out of dogs. No problem the chef was willing to go to the store to get me one lol. Very very small place, tables very close together. Waited just a brief time for a table. Got the special cranberry French toast which was very good, just a little tart with the sweet syrup, yum! Eggs over easy were just right, sausage maybe a tad too browned but tasted good, only disappointment was the hash browns looked like they were dumped out of the bag, no crisp to them, not brown at all, luckily they were defrosted. Hubby had the smoky meatloaf melt and said was not up to par with my meatloaf so just ok. I would come back but probably just for breakfast in the future and make sure I asked for crispy hash browns. read more

I found this spot via Yelp. My Daughter is in school in St. Chas. but never tried Allins. I ordered coffee and a fairly normal breakfast. Service was friendly and fast enough, biscuits were astounding. Came back the next morning to mix it up. Best Diner Vibe I've felt in years. Other guests were cordial and some even chatty. Very early risers get to meet the regulars, classic scattering of older folks - they might give you the hairy eyeball until you prove yourself by making nice with the server. I have had the wonderful experience of dining at the great restaurant and it is superb. It is an out of the way little diner, right by Lindenwood. Damn lucky college kids! The most amazing burgers and this is from someone who does not eat much red meat. They use real fresh Black Angus beef. The buns are the cherry on top, so to speak. Allin's does not use a blah normal bread bun, your burger (choice of 6, 8, 10, 12 or 18 oz) arrives sitting pretty on a fresh ciabatta roll. Burgers come with house seasoned chips or Frito's. They have the most extensive soup list I'm St. Louis, Bread Company does not come close. Give Dave a vegetable or even fruit and the man will make soup. On my visit, one of the soups was turnip. May grab some to go for Gramma, she likes the unusual. Soups, depending upon availability, can be purchased to go. At this time I am unable to review their breakfast as I've never had it. But, they were just named in St Louis Magazine's as one of the top breakfast venues in the St Louis area. YEAH to the little guy! The restaurant is small with seating for about 40. If you come during lunch it'll be packed. I once arrived and all tables were occupied and a gentleman said I could sit in one of the chairs and he wasn't a creepy dude! As I used the restroom, I was able to see how clean and neat the kitchen is kept. Not greasy and since I was in sky high stiletto heels, I'd have known. The service I've had, every time has been exceptional. Today I had the pleasure of being waited on by Kary, she is very helpful, friendly and shower sweet! She is really great and explaining the soups, real sales pro! If you want an amazing burger experience and super, great service, give Allin's a try. I doubt you'll be disappointed. I just love Allin's! It's a tiny little diner in St. Charles off of Kingshighway and they offer traditional American comfort foods (including DELICIOUS burgers that come in 3 or 4 different sizes!) and a few adventurous gourmet options like the Turkey sandwich on Cranberry bread! My brother-in-law and I were passing through the area, having to pick up my vehicle from the VPC. As we were waiting I was looking for places to grab some food before we started our trip back to Wisconsin. I found Allins Diner and by the pictures on the page, it looked like the perfect place. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was amazing. Our waitress took off our drinks, on account of the CO2 was low. We would've been more than happy to pay our full bill. Tiny local diner with local people and local color. Food comes out of the kitchen fast and fresh. Owner and wait staff (and customers) were all 'casual' and friendly. A wonderful little neighborhood diner. It's right across from Lindenwood College. It has a down home feel, not many tables and the walls are covered with pictures of the regulars that come here. The waitresses were extremely nice treat you like a regular even if you are new. They are ready with suggestions and my coffee cup never got empty. I had just an omelet and my wife had he cornedbeef hash. Both were delicious. It is rather cheap for such a large portion at breakfast. This little diner on Kingshighway, near Lindenwood Univ., is a great example of what is all too rare in the Midwest these days...a diner with GOOD food. I think their breakfast items are the best - great pancakes, and eggs, but lunch is good too, esp. the tacos and Philly sandwich. If they have a special with pulled pork, get it, and if Chef Dave is grilling something, get it. His soups are well worth it, and good for take out, too. All the help is friendly and kind.
