Let my start by describing my process and trying to find a contractor that would be easy to work with and would give me a bid. I contacted five or six different contractors some would reschedule appointments and say they were on their way. I couldn't get an accurate estimate from three or four of them. Some of them said we had to hand dig due to the eaves on our garage being low. It was quite discouraging to say the least. I finally found Paul at Allstate pools. He was very punctual with his appointment and discussed what our wants and needs were. He even had two of his subcontractors come out to make sure that they could fit their equipment in the space that we had to get in the backyard. I was shocked after the experience that I had, and immediately asked for a complete bid which we changed a couple times as we wanted to add more features. Paul was there every step of the way and would show up as subcontractors were starting on the next process. The day of the plaster was sprayed. He was pretty much there all day to make sure everything went smooth. A year and a half later and anytime I have questions or concerns. He is always there to help me with what I need. Allstate built my pool about 5 years ago. Beautiful job and very happy in the end. Great setup, high bond-beam, excellent masonry skills. We recently needed a repair to the spillway from the spa to the pool as the grout had chipped a bit. Paul at Allstate completed the work and I am very happy with the results. Almost half an acre. Dennis the owner along with Richard Babcock the designer have a great eye for exotic looks. They created a 3D video online that can be viewed by going to Bartron Household on youtube. Believe it or not it turned out even better than the video! Our backyard is truly a oasis that we will enjoy for years to come. If you are serious about building a quality pool then call these guys and have Richard come and give you an estimate. The best pool contractor ever! It was July 4 2021 and I was in a competitive house buying situation in the crazy LA market and before pulling the trigger I wanted to confirm that I would be able to put in a pool. My real estate agent gave me Paul's number and I texted him. And he texted me back-on July 4th. Not only that but he told me what I would need to be able to put in a pool (3 ft clearance for the digger, 5 feet variance from the power lines) and he spent time on Google maps checking out if there were other pools in the neighborhood to see if it was likely that we could get a permit. All for a complete stranger. Fast forward I bought the house and I wanted to start the pool construction. I met with some contractors and set up meetings with a lot more that didn't show up. Of course I met with Paul and from the very beginning he was kind and sincere and helped me think through what would be best to do with the space I had. But more than that he completely managed my expectations and every step of construction was done well and exactly in the time frame he had laid out for me in the beginning. There were no delays or unexpected glitches. Everything went like clock work. All of the teams were courteous and friendly and kept things as clean as possible when you are digging a huge hole in the ground. The tilers were amazing. They did such a great and careful job. In the end, my pool looks fabulous and is exactly what I wanted. I told Paul I wanted to be swimming in it by Aug ! and I was! Wow! How unusual it is to find a company this honest! I spoke to Paul about issues we were having with our pool and interest in re-plastering. Paul listened to everything that my husband and I said and then told us that he could do our job, but that he would be more expensive! Allstate built our pool over 8 years ago. This last year, our spa developed a fluke random crack in the Diamond Brite. Cosmetic issues are not covered under the structural warranty, but Dennis patched/repaired the damage and he had it repaired on his dime! Most contractors would simply tell you to go pound sand. Dennis has been building pool for over 30 years. He loves what he does for a living and it shows in his plans and finished product. Worst nightmare ever with this company. We had contracted them for a pool and BBQ Island. Once the big whole is in your backyard, the demeanor changes completely. Difficult for me to contain myself the day they had my wife in tears. The BBQ Island was the worst built island probably EVER built. The "bar" portion itself started to crack, the tiles coming apart. All in all today this island can't even be safely used and needs to be entirely torn down. The absolute worst part about this company is their 180 degree change once the contract is signed and your yard has a massive whole. Battled the idea to sue these assholes for a long time. This is the kindest, most professional, most on-top-of-it company and I was thrilled with the process from start to finish. When I was looking to install a pool, I talked to/got estimates from 5 companies. Paul from AllState was by far the most personable and caring individual I spoke to from any of the companies I got estimates from. Paul went above and beyond designing and 3-D imaging custom pool pictures for me before I made my decision to even go with them. The other companies said I would have to pay $1000 for a picture of what the pool would look like. That was crazy to me. How could I make a decision if I couldn't see the final product? Paul even went through line by line of the estimate with me so I knew what I was paying for so there were no surprises. When he did this, I also was able to see that other pool companies left out several items from the estimate, I assume so they could come in lower and get my business, only to hike up the price once the job started. So I ended up going with AllState and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Price-wise, it was exactly what they quoted me. Jasko was out at my site constantly checking to make sure we were moving quickly and efficiently through each step of the process. Worst company ever in business I have built a couple pools in my lifetime but this company will give a bid then increase it 3x bogus addendum's. contract stated 3inch pipe robbery installed when licensed inspector came out said they installed 2inch pipe looking through reviews I noticed a few reviews had my same issue ? What a nightmare! We contracted for a fairly large scale job, including new pool equipment in a new location, replaster, retile, and new coping for our existing pool, new retaining wall, new pilasters, new barbeque, etc. The job was agreed to take 3 months. They showed up on day one, and demoed the pool deck and coping and old equipment, dumped all the debris in the middle of our yard, and then didn't show up again for almost three months. After I called and spoke with Dennis, the owner, I found out that he was pissed off that his salesman bid the job so low, so he never ordered materials. From that moment on, the entire job was the aforementioned nightmare. The electricians pulled a new line to the new equipment, but left the old lines in the ground, cut off the ends of the wires, then just turned of the old circuit breaker, leaving the 220 lines connected. Wouldn't that be great if someone turned it back on by accident? They built the pilasters one day, and I was watching and noticed that one looked completely out of level. I told the foreman, and he insisted it was level. I said it wasn't, he said it was. I said, "do you have a level?" He said yes. He got the level, put it on, and said, "Oh, it's not level. Tear it down and start over." If I hadn't been there, it would have been completed incorrectly. We had purchased all the barbecue equipment prior to them building the barbecue structure. When they built it, they formed the opening for the grill and the separate burners BOTH the wrong size, and didn't even leave a hole for the sink. Then when they were plumbing the sink, then tried to get away with having it drain into the street drains, rather than into the sewer lines. Totally ILLEGAL. Then the cappers: They didn't level the new coping, so now the water line is higher at the spa than it is at the skimmer, making water flow back over the spillover if the water level is correct. Plus, they mismatched the tile pattern (up down up down etc.) by putting two ups or two downs next to each other 34 TIMES around the pool's perimeter. To top that off, they covered our existing overflow hole with the new tile, so now the pool overflows with heavy rains. I took them to arbitration, and we won an award which they had to pay or risk losing their license. I can't say enough to try to warn against using this company. Inept, dishonest, and unreliable. read more

Allstate built our pool nearly 8 years ago, working with us from the beginning to fit what we wanted into a tight space and dealing with some engineering issues due to a large retaining wall and footing. They built a beautiful pool with a decorative wall and waterfalls, updated our existing bbq and bar, added a small retaining wall, etc. We've been very happy with the end result. We did have an issue about a year ago with a prematurely deteriorating material, provided by a subcontractor. Dennis worked through the issue with us, arranging for the sub to provide new material. Dennis then had his crew remove and re-install everything. This took several days of work, which was done at no cost to us. The lifetime warranty promise clearly holds true, and we appreciate it. read more
