I consider myself lucky to have stumbled upon Allure during my search for a new waxing salon a while back. A big move across the city and well.... a VERY traumatic experience left me scrambling to find a new place to inflict torture upon myself in the name of bathing suit season. Anyway, I was paired up with Molly who was so sweet, funny and made me feel so comfortable.... in what can often be an uncomfortable situation for most people ;) I went on to book my next hair cut and color with her and was absolutely blown away. I told her what I was looking for and she set realistic expectations instead of over processing and damaging my hair. Over the course of several months she got my hair to where I wanted it and it's never been healthier. She works wonders with blondes and I ALWAYS get compliments on the color. I have tried many of the other treatments such as facials, waxes and peels. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the equipment is top of the line. I did not have the best experience. I was getting my hair done for prom by Antionetta. She made a lot of negative comments about my hair that I felt were rude and uncalled for. Not only that, but she did not give me what I asked for in the slightest. I was really disappointed with the way my hair came out and her comments made me feel even worse. Allure Spa puts clients first. I have been going there for over 15 years. from the time I enter I always felt welcome. I get my pedicures and hair done there and never had a bad experience. Allure is clean and the owner took great pains during the Covid to check everyone in and provided masks. Look at their web site for what they offer,you will not be disappointed. I had an appointment with my stylist. 2 days before my appointment I get a text that says I have an appointment with a different stylist, Adelina (a stylist I had made CLEAR was NEVER to touch my hair again because she had completely screwed up my hair before, I have curly hair..when you cut it, you can't just cut it the same way because when my hair dries it will be shorter since ITS CURLY, she cut my hair too short..& definitely doesn't know how to use a diffuser, & she even has curly hair. but she botched my haircut, told her she screwed up & I left there & started crying!). but anyways, I look on the site & dont see my stylists name. I find out within minutes from my sister that 3 stylists left Allure (including my sisters) 2 months before & opened their own salon. Allure never called me to let me know! And instead booked me with their least experienced stylist! The stylist that screwed up my hair before...WHAT?! & to just get a text asking me to confirm my appointment. At first, I didnt see the name change so I hit yes because it was on my fitbit watch & I was at work. When I looked at my phone later I see the name on the appointment. The next day I call the salon & im told that "there was confusion" there was a "misunderstanding "....& every other excuse. How about, no, you simply didn't want to admit that 3 of your stylists left. opened their own salon because you underpaid them & you tried to put me with your least qualified stylist & thought I'd just accept it. Completely unprofessional for the owner not call me 2 months prior when my stylist left & inform me! Completely unprofessional for the owner to stick clients with an unqualified stylist. And for the owner to not tell me where my stylist went..ridiculous. But its ok. I found her & I was able to get an appointment in before my vacation & will continue to go there & will tell everyone about their salon because they are incredibly professional!! Wow, who knew finding a good salon would make me feel right at home? Just moved to Boston from Austin, TX where I had the same hairdresser for over 10 yrs. I originally called Allure because they used the same brand of color as my salon at home, however, when it showed up they told me they recently picked up a new line and weren't using Swarzkopf any longer. My first thought was to leave but something told me to stay. My hair is about 75% gray and my current color is a mix of deep auburn, copper and dark red. To say that I was concerned about how this would turn out is an understatement. Kelly was young, cool and totally put me at ease about their new brand of color. I showed her the inspiration image that I had given my original hairdresser and we picked out the color together using their swatches. Long story short, my hair looks kick ass. The color is gorgeous and rich, exactly what I was hoping for! The particulars: price for the overall color, highlights and low lights $100. Is that normal for Boston? Not sure, but that is $25 cheaper than Austin. Second, they carry the entire Davines line, which I love like a sister. Lastly, the salon architecture and decor makes you feel like you are at a friends house for a day of pampering. I booked an appointment at the last minute online for a massage with anyone. I showed up for my appointment today with a warm welcome from a friendly receptionist. The atmosphere was spotless and smelled so nice too. The massage ended up being with the owner her name is Sandra. She was warm friendly and had great hospitality. The massage was one of the best massage I have ever had in my life. I have to say that when I got home I felt like I just got home from vacation. I would recommend this spa to anyone. I can't wait to come back and book a facial. I just wanted to add I am a hairdresser at a salon in another town and I support other salons as well as my own. I have been going to Allure for hair for quite a while. I give my stylist Leanne 5+ stars!!! The salon itself I rate a 4. I wish they didn't have so much going on in the lobby with jewelry, scarves and then all the hair and face products. I also wish the owner would put a little more money into updating the salon a bit. All of the staff are very friendly and know their stuff. I have never been to the medspa part of the salon. I can only speak to the hair portion. read more

STAY AWAY from this place. I booked the "bridal package" that included manicure / pedicure. I'm not one to go to spas or nail salons, this was a rare occasion for me. I got a tie fungus shortly after my wedding which let to the conclusion that the place must have not sanitized correctly. The staff was rude and rushing. My makeup was far from what I expected with the products not the quality you would expect for the price paid. The hair was the only good thing about this place. My hairstylist was fast and efficient considering how much I was Being rushed from one service to the next. I have traveled the world and have been to many Spas. Having relocated to the area, my boyfriend treated me after my temp. move here whilst my place was undergoing repairs from a storm. Needless to say from my rating that I will not be going back. Here is why. 1) No parking. You try parking a massive Jaguar XJ8 on the side of the road on a main drag where people drive like idiots. I don't think you'd want to do it. 2) Rude staff. The red head receptionist was as hot tempered as her hair colour. Not only did she argue with me, but she insulted me and made me want to leave when I brought up to her my next point... 3) Drunk guest in the sititng room upstairs not overstayed thier welcome, but trashed the room leaving rubbish, empty bottles of champange and wine, and ate nearly everything that was for the other day of beauty patrons. After having my pedicure and having to go up and down the stairs 3, times in those haphazard foam pedi flip flops they give you, I complained to her about the rude guests. She blew up at me and told me I was the problem. When I called my boyfriend to tell me I wanted to leave because I was not getting what I was paying for...a relaxing day at the spa....and was treated rude by the staff, she yelled at me saying "You could just talk to me. I am here you know". Needless to say, I don't think there was anything more to her than her NYC attitude and wanna be eurotrash outfit. I hope they gave her the sack as she sucked the life out of that place. 4) State of the art facilities..I THINK NOT. My pedi was done in a Dr. Scholl's foot bath. How embarassing. How many people used that. Gross! I have one at home, but don't expect to see it at the spa! What happened to massage chairs with foot baths?! Also, they did not have UV dryers for your mani/pedi. Yup, all that time and money will be wasted when you ruin your nails in a matter of moments. 5) Lunch. Usually in a spa, you are served on china and everything is nice nice...so so. I was served tea with sugar, but no milk or cream. They didn't have it. Not only that. I was not given proper napkins. I was given corse brown paper towels from the bathroom. How appetizing. Tableware from yard sale would have been better. In fact, Chinet even would have been an upgrade! 6) They were playing Christmas music in March over the loudspeaker. On yea...it only gets better. The massage therapist was great. The mani/pedi lady was sweet and good. The skin tech was PERFECT. She is high caliber real spa material. The hairdresser worked wonders with my hair. However, I am still getting my spa treatments in Bar Harbor, ME or London. This place lost their chance with a long term, high income client. I really hope they read this post and fix things. read more

Allure Spa is run by it's owner from Trinidad and a lovely staff. Let me say first, that the spa's upstairs waiting room is a little piece of heaven. Natural light seeps in through the numerous skylights, and the furniture is comfy enough to catch a cat-nap. I enjoyed lounging on the plush coach while sipping a cup of tea immensely. This two story spa/salon offers a wide range of services from microderm abrasion to hair cuts. There is also a coffee station downstairs in the salon, and a tea station upstairs in the spa, yum! Allure carries some great products. I purchased a bottle of healthysexyhair Pumpkin Enzyme therapy mist/leave in conditioner. It smells sooo good! Cindy-Lee was my stylist and did a full foil for $140, and I now have platinum-blonde-Pam-Anderson-locks. I'm not sure if this is a good look for me-but I asked for it. Cindy-Lee assured me I could come back to get some low lights put in if I decide I'm unhappy. In summary great staff & services! read more

Three stars is not a bad review, it is just "A-OK", which is my experience with Allure Spa. I went here for about 2 years for cut, color, facials, and occasionally manicures and massages. The upstairs lounge is gorgeous! It is a very welcoming and relaxing space. I really liked my stylist Viola. She did a great job with color and listened to me if I told her exactly what I wanted. My only issue is that she always tried to get me to try layers which I know look great, but I just am not talented enough to style them on my own at home. My facials, massages, and mani/pedis were all enjoyable enough but nothing special. Unfortunately, my skin reacts to Pevonia products, which is not their fault but instead of other options, they told me it was normal to break out after facials. I have been getting regular facials for years and understand how they work. Pevonia may be a good brand but the products made my skin react in a very bad way. My main issues with them are customer service related. I went there about every 6 weeks for 2 years but the owner never once spoke to me on her own. She gave me this awkward little half smile occationally but never spoke to me or made me feel welcome. The only time she spoke to me at all was a time when the dye stained my face and she tried to help minimize it because I had plans that evening. I saw her being very nice to other clients so it bothered me considering how much money I spent in her salon. I even brought multiple friends to the spa. My other complaint is that I always asked for a larger size drape when getting my hair colored because I am rather large. They never seemed to go out of their way to make sure that one was available. I often had to ask when i went to the changing room and most of those times they checked and none seemed to be clean. It was embarrassing to have to go through that and then debate between the smaller ones that do not fully close or potentially getting dye on my clothing. (I learned to not wear a nice shirt after that happened once.) Overall, I think it is a very nice place and I might suggest it to thin friends. It's just not for me. read more

I just moved to Boston about a year ago now, and I for the life of me could not find a place that cuts my hair the way I asked. My first experience on Newbury Street became a disaster resulting in my hair being a foot and a half long, to a correction making it six inches long. Since my hair has been short, I have kept it fairly short because I have had some job interviews. Long story short, I was recommend to Amy from a co-worker and I could not have been happier with the way she did my hair. She is the first stylist I've met in Massachusetts that has not only listened to what I asked for, but also knew exactly how to style it that way with my type of hair. She is incredibly knowledgeable in her field, and also a delight to visit with. I will be going to Amy for my next trim! read more

Beautiful atmosphere , although the woman that did my hair was wonderful to talk to ; I received a wash & cut , during the wash my neck was on the bare sink without a towel so not only was my neck killing me after , my entire back was soaked with water because of it . I noticed there was no Barbicide in the sanitizer where they keep certain styling instruments . And I also felt as though my appointment was rushed because I "had long hair" she went warned that it may take longer to cut longer hair ? I don't want to give this place a mediocre review. I wish I could say that my time here was more enjoyable. They have a very cool option of a "Spa Party" where you can go in with a group and hang out in their upstairs living room area. You can bring snacks and drinks and they provide tea, coffee, water and cookies. We went there for my sister-in-laws pre wedding festivities with 11 woman for manicures and pedicures. This was a rather large party and they had to scramble to find enough techs to do all of our nails, which was appreciated. Our time slots were from 10:30 to 4:30. The Good: - Recliners for the pedicures. Its a treat to be able to be reclined and relaxed through this whole process. - The usual nail technician is very skilled and very nice. - Nice to have a spa party option since many places don't. - The owner was kind enough to address a skin issue with someone in our party providing her a free extraction. - My mother in law also got her hair cut here and she loved it. The Bad: - The nail techs they brought in were not as skilled and another woman and I had to have our nails redone. They made me feel as though this was my fault though the rest of the party had very neat french manicures. Also the original technician came in and was asking if she did a bad job and if we didn't like how she did them. It was uncomfortable. The shop owner stated that it was harder to do short nails and rounded nails with French. - Another technician did not take off my friends original nail polish and just painted over it. You could see the old nail polish under it. - There was a lot of confusion as to what was happening and it was pretty scrambled. If you go there for nails I would book with Savi. She is very good at nails and also very nice. I felt like there were some problems with professionalism from the owner and a couple of the techs. I feel like they need to work out some of the kinks with the Spa Parties. I don't know if this is a new option, but they feel disorganized. Maybe it was the size of the group, but then there should be certain specifications on the size of parties if they find it challenging to put out quality work with a party that size,. I feel as though maybe half of my party walked away disappointed and its a lot of money to pay for something you are not happy with. I would go back individually and try it again. This is a great place. It is really nice inside, but has a relaxed feel to it. I have probably gone about 10 times for cut/color over the last year and a half. I would say the cuts and color have city quality, but are a bit less expensive. I have also gone for manicure/pedicure which were unbelievable. I also brought my wedding party here on the day of my wedding and even though they had another wedding that day, they treated us well and did a great job on hair and make up. They let us have a private area to bring food and drink. read more

Well... After my last appointment, I realized I had a "bleed mark" from one of my highlights. I went back to have that fixed, and to get a haircut, and it looks worse! I now have just one yellowy blond highlight on one side of my face and now I need to go get it fixed elsewhere after spending $65+. Also, I asked for 1.5-2 inches to get cut but its waaayy shorter now. Not very happy to say the least. And the woman who I previously said was very helpful, Cynthia, was rude on the phone when confirming my appt. She tried saying they wouldn't fix the bleed mark since it was over a month since my appt. I've had to re-part my hair to hide it, and now its still an issue. Need a new hairdresser asap... One that actually cares. read more

Beth is an amazing massage therapist. I've been to a lot of them in the Boston area and have never found one that fixes my problems and helps my back; until now. Beth is a great healer and a great listener. She takes the time to hear your issues and will work to help you solve them. I go to her because I don't want a 'relaxing' massage-I want someone who gets the knots out and heals my body. I pulled out my back twice last year and now go twice a month for prevention. Her reputation for knowledge and expertise is why she has a spa today. She is quiet and shy and oh so humble. The person that wrote about her is obviously mixing her up with someone else. Needless to say this place is a haven in Quincy, and on the south shore for that fact. You cannot please everyone all the time, but this spa strives for perfection. I love this salon!!! After a year on medications that made my hair fall out and very brittle, Irida has been a miracle worker to bring it back to a healthy beautiful luster, color and style! The overall atmosphere of this salon is professional-looking, cozy, and friendly. The staff was incredibly welcoming and that was the first thing I took note of. My hair came out wonderful and my hair dresser is helping me work on growing my hair out. She was incredibly knowledgeable with what she was doing and had answers to every question. She even made product suggestions, which I highly appreciated. Parking can be a struggle since it is rather limited, but this is surely no reason to not come in for an appointment. I recently had a Prp Microneedling facial with the EndyMed Intensif with Molly and Reagan and I could not be happier! I have rosacea and was in the middle of a bad flare up. I was getting to the point that I was embarrassed to go out of the house without makeup on because my skin was a complete mess. I called Molly and she suggested this type of facial. Boy, am I glad I listened to her! The next day after having the treatment done, you could notice a difference in my skin, my rosacea had started to calm down. I am now almost at the two week mark and my skin looks so much better. I now leave the house makeup free and not worry about if people are staring at my face. And the good thing about this facial is that I am going to continue to see results up to 12 weeks after, it is like Christmas every week. As for Molly and Reagan, I could not ask for a better team! They are warm, welcoming, funny and really care about you and what they do. They answered all of my questions and concerns and I felt 100% comfortable with them. I am looking forward to going back and having my second Prp Microneedling facial with the EndyMed Intensif with them in the next few months. First off, let me say that the 30-minute massage I got was pretty good, but unfortunately the rest of my experience there eclipsed anything good that Allure had to start with. I wanted to chop about 8 inches of my hair off to donate, and to give myself a new look. My birthday was coming up, so I decided to treat myself to a haircut at a "nice salon" (BIG mistake). I made sure to bring six different pictures of the exact haircut that I wanted so that the stylist knew what I wanted. I also explained to her my hair type, the fact that I wanted something quick and easy to style in the morning, and that I really wanted the hairstyle in all of the pictures I brought her (I need to stress that). Well, she apparently ignored all that I said and didn't bother with the pictures, because instead of the bob I wanted, I walked out of the salon looking like the mom from the Brady Bunch-- super short layers on top and a thin, lifeless, long layer on the bottom. She spent about 40 minutes just styling this, so there was no way this would be quick and easy for me to do, even if I had 6 arms to do a proper blowout. Seeing as I just cut most of my hair off, I expected a little surprise, and figured I should give it a few days to get used to. Well, after the first time washing my hair at home, I realized what a mullet-like mess my new haircut was, and that it was not at ALL what I wanted. So I was pretty upset, called to speak to the manager/owner, and like another Yelp! reviewer mentioned, she's awful. I told her I gave it a few days and saw that it was nothing like I asked for and that I'd at least like my money back, and she replied, "Well, I saw you here and it looked cute when you left. I will not give your money back, but you can come in and we'll teach you how to style it like the hairdresser did." Whether or not SHE thought I looked cute, it was nothing like I showed her and explained to her, and still 3 months afterward I am growing out those awful top layers. People frown on cheap chains like Super Cuts, but they at least listen to what I ask and help me fix overpriced haircuts! read more

Today was my first time at Allure Spa. I went in for a Brazilian Wax, and was a little scared since I don't usually stray from my normal place, but was looking for something more reasonably priced. I am also 9 months pregnant so that added to my being nervous. I walked in a little late to my appointment and Kathleen was as sweet as could be! She made me feel very comfortable and took the "awkwardness" out of the situation (it's not everyday you expose yourself like that!) I was SO pleasantly pleased with the wax she used and how little it hurt! I will definitely be going back there for my next waxing. read more

For 15 years I had my hair done on Newbury St. Living in Quincy now and having a young daughter, it was difficult to find the time to go to Boston. I'm so happy I found an amazing hair stylist / colorist, SHAUNA Vila (Keany) at Allure Spa in Quincy. She does an EXCELLENT job with color, especially foils. I've become more adventurous recently, adding reds and golds. I absolutely love the way she does my hair. The salon atmosphere is pleasant. This rating is for waxing services - I started coming to Allure Spa when I moved back to the area for one my eyebrows. Two of my close friends sung the praises of Erin and they were so right! Erin is awesome! I have a chicken pox scar in one of my brows so keeping them looking even is not always easy, and yet they always look great when I leave! Erin also seems to remember things you've told her in past visits. I have gotten to the point where I look forward to going so we can catch up! I'm hoping to get in this week for a mani / pedi and will update! The only complaint is that parking can be a challenge.
