They offer wine or other beverages while you relax during your pedicure. The spa chairs are great. The place is very clean and they use sterilized tools. I love my gel French mani/pedi. This place has horrible!!!. Most of the nail techs are too old and inexperienced!! I've tried almost every nail tech there because it close to my house, they're all terrible!! They're very lazy but some of them are a little nice, others are rude and defensive! They can't do simple skills like polish well or clean your nails. DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!! My 88-year-old grandmother stays with me regularly and when she does this is where I take her to get her nails done. Grandmother can be a handful, as she's pretty picky and skiddish, but she likes this place, particularly the nail tech named Penny. Penny is very patient with Grandmother and her classic pedicures are so well-executed that they last for a month! I've only been once for an acrylic fill, as I usually frequent a different establishment, but I think I'm going to make the switch for myself as well. Don't go unless you want fungus!! I've been to this salon a few times because it's the closest one to my house. Each time I've been disappointed but this last visit solidified the fact that I won't be returning! I've been getting SNS because it's much healthier for my nails. The last time my technician rushed through my nails. After 8 days one of my nails popped off completely! That is strange for SNS because it can honestly last for 3 weeks. Today I decided to try a new salon and after they soaked off my nails, we found fungus growing on one finger. Find somewhere else, there are other options that offer better service for the price without jeopardizing the health of your natural nails! read more

I've been going to this salon off and on for a while now. After my wedding in September I decided to keep getting SNS Dip powder on my nail. Outside of my experiences with Lynn this is a great place to visit. Today was the second time I sat in Lynn's chair and it will be the last. The first time I had to go back the next day because there were holes/gaps were color was missing. She also didn't evenly shape my nails. Some were rounded, the nails were sloped/ angles & some were square. I had asked for a square shape with rounded edges. There were also some coverage missing on the sides that later lead to the nail colors chipping a week later and snagging on my clothes and hair. Today, as I was looking at my nails I noticed that the 4 fingers on my left side were not fully covered on the sides. When I asked her to fix it she just filed down my nail on the side. But that didn't solve the problem. You could still see that the color wasn't fully covering my nail. She yelled for someone else to fix it and moved me to another chair. As I moved to the other chair and showed the gentlemen what I was referring too. She followed loudly talking (or yelling) but I couldn't understand what she was saying. I finally just asked him to take it all off. I didn't want any part of her negatively lingering on my physical body. He was surprised but took it off. I apologized to him if I had an attitude because it wasn't his fault. I was simply trying to make sure the nail color covered the ENTIRE nail 1. Because it should & 2. I have gone to Allure several times and been satisfied with gel manicure and the pedicures. Yesterday my sister and I got pedicures and waited 45 minutes under the dryer. They were still wet and we had to wear the slippers home. Five hours later the nails finally dried. Manager said the technicians did not wash off the paraffin well so polish did not dry. I really wanted to love this place but the terrible job done on my nails and my sister's makes that impossible. It's a nice salon, great location in Bowie and overall good customer service. However my technician did a poor job. 1- Pedicure: While doing my manicure after my pedicure he moved his feet forward, accidentally stepping on toes, which were still wet. He assured me he would check them and clean them up before we finished, but that never happened. After my manicure I looked at my toes and realized not only did he chip both my big toes, but he didn't paint the lateral edge of a single toe! It's like he just put the polish where he thought I'd see it. When I asked for him to repair it, they couldn't find him and said he had left. Thankfully the technician who had been sitting next to us touched them up nicely for me. 2 - manicure: I asked for a dip powder manicure with a matte top coat. It initially looked good but has been chipping since day 1 and basically look two-toned. I've never seen powder chip like this, so either he's inexperienced or he did a poor, rushed job. Additionally, when he said he was finished I had dried polish all over my fingers (far beneath the cuticle) and finger pads. I asked him to remove it, he did a poor job removing it from one finger and I literally had to point it out on each finger to get him to remove it. In the end I still had to pick the polish off myself. Perhaps it's just this one technician but either way, my sister and I are seriously dissatisfied with the job they did. It's my first time going. I usually go to St. Charles Mall to get my nails done but it's so far that I wanted to try out a place closer to me. Not only did I show the guy what I wanted I still didn't get the result. I decided not to get white but wanted the same design & same shape. His shape is no where near what the picture looked like which I decided not to waste more money on design if the shape didn't even look good. I am very disappointed. The services was great but if you don't know how to shape why don't you let someone else do it. Going to St. Charles is far but EVERY time I get out of there I am very happy with my nails that it was worth the drive. They even give free fruits & water. Plus the guy helps you pick the color & give you ideas if you are not sure what you want. His recommendations are very good. I'm new to the area and was looking for a nail salon i could call home but this one is not it. I liked the decor but other than that, it was a waste of time and money. I must have came on a bad day because all of the workers seemed like they were in a bitchy mood. I sat down with Belinda for a full set and regretted my decision right away, but I kept telling myself "just give them a chance". Belinda was very short and kept trying to get me to get gel. I declined a few times then she proceeded to do a sloppy job. Once again, i kept giving myself a pep talk-"they'll come out fine". Once she started painting my nails, i knew i wasn't going to be happy with the outcome. I told her i didn't like my nails but she insisted it was the color.(which was yellow). It wasn't the color- it was the horrible shape job & the sloppy painting that made my nails look like i did them at home. If i didn't have somewhere to be, I would have stayed another hour, so another tech could reshape & paint them. read more

My experience has been inconsistent, either fantastic or mediocre. The first time the tech kept pushing me to do dip so reluctantly I agreed. Three of the nails fell off within the week and I can't remember that tech's name. The second time I went Elvis did an amazing job with dip and he assured me it wouldn't fall off within a week or he would personally fix it. The third time I got an amazing acrylic ombré set done with Tina and I never received so many compliments. When I came back for a fill Tina was already with a customer so I was directed to another girl. She basically filed down my skin so it was raw, didn't keep the shape that I had and filed down my thumb nail so much that it looked crooked. Well....I discovered this place months after the opening only to be pleasantly surprised that it was owned and ran by Jenny. I had discovered Jenny years ago in the Bowie area....I had relocated from NY at that time. Needless to say it's been at least 15 yrs that I have known her. Well today, I must have caught her on a bad day. I'm not going to say that she's always been pleasant, but for the most part she does possess a decent attitude. There are plenty of times where I have waited at least 25 minutes because she is running late...today being another one of those times. As soon as I entered the establishment I could already tell she was not in a good mood. After her husband had applied the acetone to my nails removal because like I said she was running late, thank goodness he did that for me just to ball rolling because I had a tight schedule today being that I had several appointments due to my vacation. When Jenny and arrived to the pedicure station she proceeds to ask me if I had an appt later on the same day. Originally I had, but I changed it doing with her weeks prior. I only figured, oh she has an attitude because she thinks I'm just walking in earlier just because I felt like. She also expressed she noticed it was her handwriting that had recorded to new time for today. She continues with my pedicure...very quietly because it appeared that she was having another one of her mood swings because let's face it, she experiences them quite frequently. Who will it be when walking in to the nail salon every two weeks. I like plenty of women have a difficult time choosing a nail color but I was able to narrow my selection rather quickly. I do have the S n S done now that's it has helped strengthen my nails. For some reason at this nail salon ya just never know what shade of color the powder might be. They do offer a somewhat similar color for both nails and toes but depending on the shade you really cannot tell until it's applied. Now mind you my toes were already done l, so we start on my nails. As Jenny is applying the powder I notice that the shade is definitely not matching my already completed feet. The nails were now purple where my feet were clearly pink. I have no idea how this happens but it certainly it isn't my fault. I then express that I cannot go in my vacation with Easter egg looking hands and feet. Well Jenny didn't like that I was not satisfied. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you're completely unhappy about the work/nail color the nail tech should be kind enough to help. Not to mention if she realized it was purple...and she did why didn't she suggest that I choose a different color. Any professional nail tech would never want a client to be dissatisfied but apparently Jenny isn't into keeping her clients happy anymore. Funny thing is that there are plenty of people that go to her that say the same thing. I'm sure it isn't a surprise to her. It doesn't end there...she asks me why didn't I stop her, well Jenny that's because I thought that you knew what you were doing. She proceeds to get angry as we exchange opinions on the situation and she then tells me that someone else will fix them for me. Oh and that when I call attempt to make my next appointment she will not being double gym nails. Did she once think that maybe she picked up the wrong powder. What!! After all these years...you better believe I will not be returning. Your prices are way too high anyway for average nail work and a very bad attitude. She is the one that created the mess. She then tells me to get up and that a lady on the other side would do them but never says who...just tells me that she's over there. There were several ladies over there. So the kind lady finds me, but at this time I was already agitated, and I'll say it again I would now be late for my next appt because she was 25 minutes late. I will add this...she is completely aware that I am under a lot of stress due to my mother's major medical issues while visiting me from NY and it's been several months and my vacation is way overdue so she should have been considerate enough at least for today. You work 6 days a week because it's your choice. I have a sick mom, children and running my own business too. So you being tired is no excuse. We all have something. This place is nice and clean. Unfortunately I'm giving it only 1 star due to poor customer service. A nail tech (Tina) told me she could do a design but did a poor job. I went the next day to request for them to fix my two nails, but the owner of the nail salon was very rude and said "you should tell the nail tech before you leave next time if you like the design... it would make lives and everyone's lives much easier". I explained to him that I did not have my glasses at the time and couldn't tell if it was good or not. I asked for his opinion and asked if he thought it was a good or poor job. He even asked who the nail tech was and then said, "look not everyone knows how to write but again you should tell the tech if you like be design or not". I told him that the tech did a very good job with my nails but now I know her expertise is not in designing. He continued to say "I know you said you forgot your glasses but that's why it's always important to say if you like it or not.. it makes everyone's life easier". He kept repeating and repeating and repeating himself and it made me feel very uncomfortable. The nail tech beside him and customer just kept looking our way. I understood what he was trying to say (I was ready to pay if I had to) but I told him he was being rude on how he was talking to me. I didn't say anything else because I knew he was going to continue to make more excuses. I just needed my nail fixed. Then he said, "ok so what do you want then". Owner did not have any manners on handling situations like this. It's not the way to talk to customers. When he finished fixing my nail, he said "go over there to dry nails, sit for 2 minutes and then you can leave". A few minutes later, one of the nail techs who heard everything came to me and said "I am so sorry on how he talked to you". I thanked her and told her that I couldn't believe how her boss/owner of the salon talked to me. She apologized again and said "he's not a nail tech and does not know how it works. I'm very sorry". 4/17/19 I walked in Allure Nail Spa and was immediately greeted and seated at a station for a gel manicure. I was thrown off a little because at other salons they say"go pick a color", but here they hand you a stack of pre-polished nails and you pick from that. The nail tech then brings the color to you. I walked in at around 6:45 and walked out just before they closed at 8. My tech(Penny) noticed I was extremely tired and dozing off so she kept the conversation to a minimum, but was super nice, very professional and a great nail artist. My cuticles HAVE NEVER looked so amazing in my life! Cuticles can make or break a great manicure and thanks to her I am estatic about showing off my nails. Sorry to hear about everyone else's bad service experience but my sister and I received some of the best service ever on our visit tonight. First I called 30 min before closing and asked if they could fit in 2 pedicures and the said yes come in. The salon is very clean and designed beautifully with ample seating and nail technicians. We did have to wait a few minutes but we arrived last minute and it was completely worth it. Ella did my SNS manicure (which I ended up adding once I got there and decided to add the extra 10min foot massage which was totally amazing!) and pedicure with such precision and she was so pleasant and funny. My sisters nail tech left without putting lotion on her hands at the end and Ella was more than happy to give my sis a little extra hand massage since her person forgot. Honestly I don't know if it was Ella or the actual salon that's so great at this point we are so happy with everything! Ella is one who truly takes pride in her work I highly recommend her. Also I felt pricing was fair. I paid $45 for the extreme spa pedicure and I feel it was more than worth it. read more

I come to this salon every 2 weeks for the last year and get the SAME service. I usually pay $70. Today I received the service and was charged $80. I inquired as to why my service was more today than previous weeks and I was told that I had certain services like $3 for a cut down. I stated I get a cut down every other week and I have ALWAYS paid $70! Last month a tech filed my nails too thin (the tech who fixed them told me) and all of them broke. I paid $80 then which I felt I shouldn't have had to pay that because it wasn't my fault my nails broke. Now today it's $80 again for my usual services. I will not be returning. Don't try to start nickel and diming customers. Be consistent. If I pay one price for the same service I expect to pay that each time. It's not fair. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 * I would. Ladies do not waste your money here. Long story short I got my nails done one of the nails broke the same day after hours. I returned the next day and they tried to charge me for the nail that had just broken. They also charge if you have longer Nails as well as $5 for each nail you need repaired. When I told them the nail had broken they asked me what did I do to break the nail. They are very unprofessional and obviously very money-hungry. Please consider yourself forewarned.
