This place is great for lunch or a affordable small/quick dinner. The staff is really nice and helpful. For a lunch place this is a great spot and certainly deserves 5 stars. It can be a bit busy during the middle of the day bit the staff does a great job at getting the food out. In the two times I visited I had a few wraps, salads, one of their soup, slice of cheesecake and coffee....all were outstanding!! I'm from chicago and would say this place is as good or better than virtually all the places in city but more affordable. read more

Ally's Bistro did a breakfast catering a few weeks ago that was phenomenal. Everyone loved their pastries and fresh fruit. Last week, I forgot to call them for a small breakfast catering order and went in the morning I needed the catering. They were most accommodating, and put together a great tray within minutes. Food is delicious, prices similar to Panera. The roasted red pepper soup is Amazeballs! ! Their gluten free pizza crusts are great imo. I prefer to the regular crust actually (I am not gluten free). Sandwichs are yummy, so are the pizzas and wraps. Salads were ok, nothing terrible, but nothing that stood out either. Also, and i know this is kind of trivial, but they have lemon water and cucumber water out, and its great. I'm not a soda drinker, but tap water at restaurants can be kinda gross sometimes. I don't really see places that try to make their tap water tasty, so i appreciate this. Staff is really really nice too. And if you become a regular, get their reward card. I have been going to Ally's Bistro for about 5 months, and am totally pleased every time I go, which is usually once a week. As soon as I walk in the door, they greet me by name. The staff is so friendly, especially Rodney, the owner, who always makes my Banana Split smoothie just the way I like it. My order can be a tad complicated, but they always get it right! The Ally's Club is excellent and their soups are phenomenal as well. The smoothies are also great. I have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. If you are a member at Snap Fitness, you actually get a 15% discount which is really nice. This restaurant is kind of tucked away and hard to find on the corner of Appleton Ave. and Good Hope, so I really hope it's extremely successful, as it should be. I've been there before and I remember it as being OK. However...just ordered a BLT wrap and it was almost all lettice. There was little more than a hint of the BT. The beer was good though. read more

FINALLY - a decent place for lunch in this area! They have a vast array of sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, paninis, etc - you get the point. This last time around I had a chicken panini with some sort of cheese and pesto. It was deeeelish and quite large. Overall, the concept is kind of like Panera - with a better quality ingredients. My only criticism would be that I'm not understanding the side of chips and salsa. It just doesn't pair well with the majority of the sandwiches and the salsa is obviously not made in the store. I'd rather get a bag of chips or a piece of bread. read more

I had breakfast with my son today at Ally's. It was pretty busy, but people were leaving, so we got a place to sit. We both ordered breakfast plates, which were served quickly and were tasty. I brought my laptop along, so we could look at something for my son. It started to get crowded and noisy. We had finished eating, so we took our coffee's to the bar area and sat at a corner table in the bar area, next to the door. At that time only one customer, besides my son and I were in the bar area. My son is 28, so he is legal to be in a bar. I asked the female bartender for the password for Ally's. She was very rude to me and questioned if we had come from the main dining area. I said yes, we had breakfast there, but wanted a quieter area to look at laptop stuff. She reluctantly gave me the password, which did not work and mumbled to herself that she might need that table to make money. She also said the back room was a better place to go, if I wanted a quieter place. Not sure we could go in there, because it's used for larger group's? I thought she was very rude and impolite. I am a frequent customer at Ally's and never was spoken down to the way she did to me. My question is, does Ally's have a policy of where we can sit and look at a laptop? If so, then why didn't the bartender just say so, instead of treating us like we were some non paying customers, wanting to use internet. BTW, I've used Ally's internet before without a problem. Anyway, a rather unpleasant experience in the bar area and a very rude bartender. I was very unhappy about that and my son and I just left. A explanation would have been better. read more

Ally's does great food from breakfast into the evening. On Fridays after 6 pm, it turns onto a wonderful JAZZ CLUB! They invite local jazz musicians & singers to play starting at 6:30 pm and they play up to about 9 pm. No cover and besides the usual menu, they have some excellent dinners around $14 to $18. Come with a friend or another couple and have a very nice dinner & show. Great craft beer selection and wines too. Call after noon on that Friday to reserve a table or booth. read more

I met a friend here this morning and found the place to be clean, cheerful and pleasant all around. We both chose the SW breakfast wrap. I don't know what they do to the tortillas but they're wonderful and I believe they put the wrap in a panini press just before serving. Delish! Great value, good food. All time favorite place for lunch in the Milwaukee area!! I have had a number of the sandwiches and wraps and all have been really good. My favorite one is the Cuban wrap. And if you like soup, I recommend to everyone the red pepper with smoked Gouda, it is fantastic! I have never had their salads or breakfast but everyone I have talked to say that they are really tasty! They get crowded during the lunch hour but they are opening an expansion area in May or June of 2016. read more

This is a great lunch place and the staff is friendly! I recommend their wraps. In general, the food is good, but not great. I don't recommend the dilled chicken salad. When I had it, there was tons of mayo, not a lot of chicken and the chicken wasn't even tasty. There is nothing special about the bread... Like I said, it's good for a quick and relatively healthy lunch, but there is some tender love and care with their food that's missing. read more

I have been a frequent patron of this local restaurant since its opening, and while their food has always been very good and the people very friendly, I dislike the menu update. You can no longer get a large house salad without having to pay for a meat such as chicken or tuna on top. I understand that they are growing, and with that comes price increases, but don't lose that personal touch that made stand out! read more

A friend and I had breakfast here yesterday, first time for both of us at Ally's. It was at 8 on a Saturday, and there was no crowd or wait, which was nice. Service was pleasant, helpful and cheery. I had the Veggie Breakfast Sandwich and my friend had the Saturday special, the Breakfast BLT. We both chose fruit as a side rather than the potatoes. A few minutes after we ordered and sat down, one of the staff came over to our table and told us that they were out of bacon jam they use on the BLT--did we want to change the order? My friend said he'd be fine w/some extra mayo instead. Our food came promptly, and both were tasty, although my friend said he'd order the eggs on his BLT a little more done next time, as they were a bit more liquid and messy than he really wanted. My sandwich was good, and I especially liked the saltiness of the "everything" bagel w/the veggie flavors in the sandwich. The fruit side was what you'd expect. Portions were sensible, not huge, and prices were reasonable, which was nice. My only complaint was that beverages were SO expensive--but that seems to be the case at so many restaurants. Coffee was $2.19 for a "bottomless cup." Smoothies were just over $4, and other beverages were similarly priced. However, there were 2 lovely containers of ice water, one w/orange slices floating in it and the other w/lemon slices. We were both happy to just have a tall glass of water w/our breakfasts. I'd certainly return to Ally's, and I am looking forward to going later in the day to try their lunch offerings. read more

Oh my, what a delightful find! After driving around a bit looking for a decent looking place Ally's bistro did not disappoint. Classy but cozy looking place. And they have after 5 menu that's proper entree like. Tried the smothered cod and was wowed by the taste. Light deft touch with the fish and shrimp. Came with simple side of green beans and wild rice, but the flavors of the rice were delicious. The seasoning was just right. This place is delicious! I had the Pot Roast Melt off the Specials board and it was fantastic...a great flavor combination and the pot roast was super tender! Got the sauce on the side for dunking.
