I had the brain salad considering I had such an unhealthy appetizer and there was not one piece of leaf lettuce in it (leaf lettuce is useless). It was delicious. My wife and I love Ally's, it's easily our favorite bistro type restaurant in the area. We have been to Ally's many times for lunch, it's a great date spot or place to work. Tonight we went to Ally's for a dinner date and it did not disappoint. We sat on the bar side of the restaurant and had Justin as our bartender. Justin is great, go on a Wednesday night to see him. He played guitar for the patrons upon request, he was great and was a very good bartender/server. We loved the Christmas beer with brown sugar on the rim he recommended and the roasted red pepper Gouda soup was great as always. Just came back from lunch. When you walk in you feel like you're at a family's home.....everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I had the Turkey, bacon, fetta cheese panini.....SOOO DELICIOUS! What a cute place. I don't get out to the falls much but if I did I would come here. One half is a bar with full food service the other half is the café. There is also a large patio with outdoor seating. They are so friendly and helpful there. You place your order at the counter and you get a number for your table. They bring your food to you. They have a really good menu with lots of delicious, healthy and even gluten-free and vegetarian foods. I came here for a job interview. The lady behind the counter moved a bunch of tables around before we started so she wouldn't interrupt our meeting. That was really thoughtful. read more

Awesome place!! I'm from CA and come to "The Falls" for work. Found this place on yelp and went to breakfast, it was fantastic. Eggs were not runny, bacon was not thin, greasy, but crispy, and thick. Service was great, with a smile, and a laugh. I had my morning "I need a cup of joe" face on (I'm working on that hahaha) and the server was great!! Coming back again! Also free wifi!! Very disappointed. Went on line to check out and thought it would be a quiet little restaurant to bring my elderly parents to enjoy lunch. Walked in only to find the setting to be more like Subway. No waitresses. What! You have to seat yourselves, then go up to a counter where I was given a breakfast menu by mistake for a noon lunch. After viewing the correct menu which was confusing at best, you have to go up to the counter and place your order. The portions were small to adequate. In fairness, the food tasted good. read more

Good food, inadequate seating. Went for a late lunch (1:30, party of 2). After ordering on the bistro side, couldn't find two seats together there. We asked the bistro staff if we could sit at in the less-crowded pub side. The bistro staff assured us this was fine -- except it clearly WAS NOT ok with the server on the pub side. As we approached a table with our fountain drinks and table service number in hand, we were immediately informed, "Just so you know, the pub side is FULL SERVICE." We quickly ate our meal and left ASAP, feeling very unwelcome. I can respect that the pub side is full service, but: 1) ensure that staff on both sides are aware of seating policies 2) ensure that the different service policies are clearly posted 3) ensure that there is adequate seating available on the bistro side 4) make an effort to use a friendly, not condescending, tone when dealing with patrons read more

We've been happy customers since just after they opened and have never had a bad meal. Personal favorites include any of the soups (so far!), the dilled chicken salad and Waldorf tuna sandwiches, and the Southwest breakfast wrap. Yummy! Not a huge fan of the sit-down service, but YMMV. read more

Ally's is my favorite lunch place! They serve wraps (hot and cold), sandwiches, paninis, salads, and thin crust pizzas for lunch. At dinner, they also serve up some pasta dishes. For breakfast, you can grab an excellent breakfast sandwich or omelette. Most places I have a "favorite" meal that I order, but here, you really can't go wrong with anything! They do get busy, so don't be a jerk and grab a table while you are waiting in line. Trust the system - when the line is long, generally a table will open up well before you get your food, even when it is busy. Also - Ally's does some AMAZING catering. We use them at my company for lunches, breakfasts, and appetizers. They can provide box lunches or platters for a group (that are always neatly labelled). :-) read more

I've come here at least five times, and it's never been amazing. The sandwiches are ok, always solid but nothing special or memorable. The salads are the same, just ok. Also, if tortilla chips are going to be your go-to side dish, they should be homemade, or at least really good. They always tasted dry and stale to me and the salsa was very boring. Thank you Yelp for finding this gem of a place for me. I am visiting my childhood town and saw this on Yelp. I suggested it to two of my HS classmates and we net for lunch. Even though the place was crowded we did not feel rushed. My Rueben sandwich was delicious and the wraps that my classmates had looked delicious. The restaurant staff handled the lunch crowd with extreme efficiency. Lemon or orange flavored water was free with the lunch plate. Everything was clean and airy. Great location but easy to miss. Every person working was very attentive and eager to meet your every need; which can be hard to find. I ordered the number four sandwich and a bowl of the jambalaya per the cashiers recommendation. The jambalaya was good, thick and hearty. The #4 was very good and covers all my favorite flavor bases. I've been here three times now, and the jury has reached a decision: This place is pretty fantastic. We northsiders have limited dining options, and even fewer for a decent lunch. Ally's offers a great assortment of soups, salads, paninis, sandwiches and pizzas. So far I've had an incredible bowl of soup, a delicious panini and a satisfying salad. I also had a smoothie that made me a very happy girl. The decor is bright and airy, and the ingredients are all fresh.
