I went to Oaxaca de Juarez in December for work and fell in love with the city and food. I've been struggling to find a place with everything I ate there, but found everything and more here! It was a one-woman show when we went, but everything was prepared to order and we were very well taken care of. It was my family's first time trying many of these dishes and we all loved them! Just like when I went to Oaxaca, the food was well-balanced and not too greasy despite having very decadent ingredients. All the flavors were spot on. All the photos are labeled with what we tried. Next time, I want to get the memelas and molotes, which I very rarely see on menus. I also want to try their tamales. We will definitely be back. 100% recommend. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Ordered $50 worth which I instantly regretted after seeing the cashier handle cahs and my food without gloves.....disgusting. Also noticed they crammed all my food in a small bag, so I asked for an extra bag and the lady gave a sigh and gave an attitude wtf. Lastly while I was waiting for my food I noticed a cockroach crawling on the wall and on another table. Yeah there's goes my $50 o well. Hopefully this helps someone out . read more

This restaurant took over the La Flor Taqueria spot that sadly went out of business. This though is a great replacement so I hope it lasts. A single friendly lady was the cashier, cook, and waitress. I love Oaxacan cuisine so wanted to try a few things I've never had before. For my entree I went with the "molotes" which are deep fried masa fritters stuffed with potatoes and chorizo and topped with black bean paste, lettuce, guacamole sauce, and cheese. It also came with a side of spicy red hot sauce. The portion was huge for the price and extremely filling. I loved the texture of the masa and all the ingredients were so flavorful. I cleaned my plate to the last bite and would highly recommend the dish. For my drink I went with the "atole blanco" which was a hot masa porridge which was sweetened. It was super hot and never cooled down thanks to the thick terra cotta bowl it was served in. I really enjoyed it and found it very comforting. It paired up with the entree perfectly. The texture might not be for everybody but I think you should give it a try. My only real complaint is it was 100 degrees in the place just like the last restaurant which was causing me to drip sweat. It's 60's outside so can't imagine the summer. During the last 10 minutes or so I think the a/c kicked on though since it started to get more comfortable. Also I noticed I got a small charge for using credit instead of cash which seems to be the norm these days. I didn't notice any warning sign about it. Great place, friendly service, delicious food. Avoid this place at all costs. The customer service was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I calmly shared that I didn't like the hot chocolate with milk (I was not asking for a refund), and the woman immediately became defensive, insisting it was good and making it about herself and the owners instead of listening to the customer. When we mentioned the chicken in the Coloradito was dry, she openly admitted it was normal because the food is reheated often -- which says everything. Rather than apologizing or showing any concern, she doubled down and tried to argue with us. She repeatedly showed an attitude, said she didn't care about losing two customers, and made it clear she was more focused on proving her point than providing basic customer service. Even when we tried to keep the peace by asking to sample the maracuyá water, she responded with more attitude, saying she only gave us a sample so we wouldn't "return items that were good." Zero accountability, zero compassion, and terrible service. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone. Eviten este lugar. La atención al cliente fue pésima y muy poco profesional. Comenté tranquilamente que no me gustó el chocolate caliente con leche (no estaba pidiendo un reembolso) y la señora se puso a la defensiva de inmediato, insistiendo en que estaba bueno y haciendo todo sobre ella y los dueños, en lugar de escuchar al cliente. Cuando mencionamos que el pollo del Coloradito estaba seco, ella misma dijo que eso era normal porque la comida se recalienta con frecuencia, lo cual es inaceptable. En vez de mostrar empatía o disculparse, se dedicó a discutir y a tratar de probar su punto. Durante toda la interacción tuvo una actitud grosera, llegó a decir que no le importaba perder dos clientes y dejó claro que su prioridad no era el servicio, sino tener la razón. Incluso cuando intentamos mantener la calma pidiendo probar el agua de maracuyá, respondió con mala actitud diciendo que solo nos daría una muestra para que no regresáramos productos que "sí estaban buenos".
